Ooooooh!  NICE CARDS!!  What do you suppose is the DOK part of the DA parchment?  And with the O.W.Ls paper, isn't that part of the spell that didn't work for Lockhart when he was trying to get the pixies back in tha cage?  "Pesky pixie pesternoma!"

I don't have time to post my scans of the cards I pulled from my case, but I thought I might share these photos I found on The Snitch website.  The props and costumes were displayed at Pottermania.

Couldn't pass up these variants the main thing was to find a complete stripe

There were two more colors light purple and light blue, which I missed out on. :(

Thank's bitsy on the DA Parchment - I kept thinking it was DOK as well.

: Re: OOTP scans and comments

It's useful to mention what colour Hermione CI1s there are in the price guide so that people have some idea what to look for.

Light Green
Pink
Yellow
Red
Purple
Light turquoisey blue
Light purple

There's the chance that these look different on different scanners,  but so far the contrast of the different colours seems to imply that there are at least 7 colours? Any more?

I'm really liking those DA papers.  I'm collecting 2 props from this movie, and that may end up being one of them.  I would definately want one with some writing or a name.

: Re: OOTP scans and comments

So the swatches for this card were taken from two different lists?
Does anyone have this card yet? Are the names written or printed?

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: kbmum July 18, 2007, 12:23:38 AM
Artbox might have received two props.  I just looked through the OOTP book to see if anyone else had "Pad" in his or her name, but no one did.

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: KFCKAREN July 18, 2007, 01:16:46 AM
Could it be the name Padma Patil?

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: kbmum July 18, 2007, 01:28:10 AM
We're pretty sure it's Padma.  I was just trying to find out if another DA member had those letters in his or her name.  Since no one does, it looks like two props were used to make the P1, since the name wouldn't have appeared twice on the same list.

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: ferdinand_the_yak July 18, 2007, 07:07:30 AM
Yup, I was looking that the one Jon posted. I'm guessing Artbox were given more than one DA list prop as well.

Does anyone know why there are two different designs for the auto cards?  Why would the Cho card have a different design than the rest of the students?

: Re: OOTP scans and comments

The kids who faught with Harry in the Ministy have the green background...all the others are like Cho's etc!

Hi Kelly.

I was so happy to find The P1 with Ginny on it  ;D ;D ;D

I'm a big fan of the Weasleys and especially Ginny. So this was the best card I could find  ;)

Along with this I also pulled out the Ginny costume card, the Ginny autograph card and the Ron autograph card. So it was just a peerfect case for me...

I don't have a binder, but I have ordered a set of the six OOP Collector Tins from the Digital Heroes website.  I should have them by the end of the week.  If you want me to,  I will scan the lids and post them here.

: Re: OOTP scans and comments

: Re: OOTP scans and comments

I won this late last night (Its the ebay scan):

The swatch, I think, is really cool. Okay, so at first I was having trouble debating what exactly the swatch was, but now I definitely see a snakes head in a hood with the words "How to use" along with a word that is cut off, that may be a spell. Anyone have a guess?

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: canny19 July 24, 2007, 06:07:20 AM

nice swatch though :)

Imperious curse!

: Re: OOTP scans and comments

lol, well done Kelly.
I should have thought of that -- stupid me  ::)

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: Jon August 02, 2007, 09:10:22 AM
I thought Imperius curse as well, but why would the Prophet have "How to use Imperius Curse...etc" in it? I thought it may be something different.

So I bought another Prophet card. Its got the top of the gold capital "P" in Prophet as the swatch. So cool. Ill have scans soon.

It has a piece of the golden "P" in Prophet. You can see it in the picture below. The swatch itself is actually sideways. Its the top of the P. I was really lucky when I found this card. I bought it at Comic Con from a dealer for only $45. I dont think he knew what he had, because this is definitely a 1/1 or at least a 1/2 (there is still the bottom half of the P out there). Enjoy!

Cho Chang's card material is black.  It looks like some of the skirt material.  The tie card is blue with silver stripes.

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: kbmum August 17, 2007, 02:08:43 AM
Thanks!  It's such a pain trying to find good cells.  Most sellers don't mention the cells in their auctions. >:()  I've honestly lost track of how many times I've send emails to get that info -- from POAU to OOTP, it must be at least 1,000.

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: grecopa August 17, 2007, 02:22:22 AM
You're welcome!  The cfc9 is perfect too.   :o

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: kbmum August 17, 2007, 02:40:13 AM
I love the CFC9, too. :)  There's one on eBay now with cells of Voldemort on the platform, but the seller wants $45 or so for it. :-\  I'd really like to get it, because the two cards go together.  Maybe if no one buys it, the price will come down.

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: Jon August 17, 2007, 06:49:13 AM
Great cells there, Cindy! Where are you finding such gorgeous, high quality photos?

So I bought some things from Tom Unique. A OOTP Hobby Box and this wonderful card:

Ci2 Voldemort Robes 001/200!! ;D

I also pulled these two lovely variants from the box:

It looks like the top of a photo (you can tell from the shading). If someone knows where this comes from, let me know. ;)

Here is the first variant for this card I have seen. It has what seems like the beginnings of a collar or cuff. Are these cards from the sweater shes whering in the photo?

Thanks!

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: kbmum August 17, 2007, 07:19:59 AM
Nice cards!  I love the Daily Prophet. :)  I can't recall seeing any pictures of the newspaper used for the P3, just the one that was used for the P10.

I find screencaps at The Leaky Cauldron and Mugglenet.  They don't have every single image from the trailers, but there are enough to find a close match to the cells in filmcards.  The sites also have images from the DVDs, TV specials, high-res photos, and official WB photos. :)

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: blackcat20 August 17, 2007, 07:49:21 AM
I just picked up this one on ebay:

I saw that card Kate - nice to see that you won it!

Nice Prophet... ha ha!

Having said that I'm seeing some really beautiful Daily Prophet Props all over the place :) - what's yours Jon 'how to use the ...'?

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: Jon August 23, 2007, 01:55:36 AM
I wish I knew. It could be Imperius Curse, but that makes no sense, though there is an angry snake on the page. It also says "in your", so I thought maybe its "In your home."

Oh, I got it! "How To Use Impedimenta In Your Home"? I think thats the freezing spell. Makes sense. So if you have snakes (or other ill-mannered magical creatures) in your home, just stop them with the Impedimenta spell. What do you think? :)

I am right that it is a snake?

I am right that it is a snake?

I've really looked at that swatch, and I think it's a man.  I see long hair, eyes, nose, mouth, and beard.  There are two arms and something at the waist of the robe (hands or belt).  There's a shadow over the man's left shoulder.  But, that's just my opinion! ;)

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: beckham1 August 23, 2007, 03:57:36 AM
It looks like a man to me too.  Either way nice cards.

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: Jon August 23, 2007, 04:10:46 AM
Oh, hahaha, I see him now.  Yes, its supposed to be a man. I actually like it better as a man. But does anyone see the snake Im talking about? The man's forhead is the eye, his beard is the open mouth, the left side of his hair is the nostrils. Picture all the unprinted sections of his face being the surrounding mouth and head, with the top of his hair (black) the top of the snakes head. The mans shadow is the "hood" I was speaking of and the white outline of the man's arms is the outline of the hood, spreading outward. See it? See it?

Needless to say, we were all over the moon! Love the DP! Number 001 and it has a number 1 actually on the swatch!  8)

My Mom had a very good birthday!  :) I am so happy for her!

More cool cards - thanks for sharing!! ;) ;D ;D
The Daily Prophet swatch shows part of the map of the UK (just thought you'd be interested!  ;D) and a GREAT number too - definitely excellent birthday pressies for your Mum Bitsy!! ;D ;D
Please wish her a very 'Happy Birthday' from me won't you?  ;D

Love the Ministry Munchies swatch too - shame we didn't see more of the actual items themselves in the film! ::)

Ahh! Oh my goodness! That is a beautiful prophet! :o And a number 1! Is there any chance I could arrange a trade or sale for it?? :o=

Congrats and happy birthday to your mom!

Bitsy, your mom had incredible luck!  I really love the Daily Prophet, and Jules, thanks for telling us it's part of a map of the UK!  I'd love to know what the significance is of the numbers and symbols. :)

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: Nienna August 26, 2007, 08:27:32 AM
Pleasure!!
The rounded part of the map is East Anglia (low lying ground ... the Norfolk Broads ... The Fens) - it looks like an open mouth doesn't it LOL, well anyway to the right of where the 'th' symbol is, is roughly where London is situated.  ;)
My guess is the symbols show where certain magical either places or powers are .. perhaps to do with alchemy, thaumaturgy or maybe ley lines or even tarot?
Heh sounds like I actually know what I'm talking about!!  ::)

Jon - I think the chances of you getting your hands on that Prophet will be slim to non-existant ...

Sounds good to me! :D  I wish Artbox had pictures of the props and costumes before they were cut up, like Inkworks does on its site.  I think it's a lot of fun trying to find out where a particular swatch came from.

Yep, Jon, I think you're going to be out of luck for this one.

Thank you guys so much--I will let my Mom know everything.  :)

WOW, Jules, thank you so much! It has been driving me crazy trying to figure out what the swatch was depicting and what the symbols/numbers meant. I am stunned it is of a map of the UK!  :o :o How incredible! My Mom will be absolutely ecstatic.

Jon--thank you for your kind words. I will certainly pass your message along to my Mom, but I am pretty sure she will want to keep this one.  ;)
If there is anything you would like me to tell her, you can PM me and I will let her know. I can't speak for her, so I will take any offer you have to her.  :)

You certainly have been lucky to find so many of the first and last numbers for these cards! :)  I hope Artbox produces the Fred shirt for the update set. :o=

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: Jon August 30, 2007, 02:23:22 AM
Yeah, Ive been hunting like crazy. Ive pretty much modified the ebay search engine to find every Harry Potter prop & costume card that is listed so I dont miss one. Its been pretty successful. Ive also had some help from fellow Shackers, kind enough to sell me their pulls or point me towards a website that may have one. I have another last number on the way and I may come across three more first and lasts pretty soon. I am trying to get the entire set in either form. Its a pretty daunting, and probably impossible task, but Im going to try my hardest nonetheless. There have been a couple that have slipped by me already, either I was outbid or I had missed the auction. Im not sure if it is polite or not to ask the buyers about the cards and whether they would want to sell.

I hope the Fred shirt is made as well, itll go perfect with the George. I cant wait to finish the set and frame all the cards.

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: kbmum August 30, 2007, 05:00:50 AM
I would think that if people recently won those cards, they wouldn't want to sell unless you really made it worth their while.  Contacting them through eBay is iffy, too.  If someone contacted me that way, I'd wonder if it was a scam.

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: Jon August 30, 2007, 05:46:41 AM
I thought that too. I, of course, would make an offer higher than what they paid, but like you said, they just won it and it would take some major convincing. Hmm, I never thought about the thread of scam. Fortunately one of the three people I would have to contact is on the boards and one is someone who has bought from me just recently. Ill probably contact them sometime in the future. Its worth a try.

Hi guys,
First of all, let me say just how much i have enjoyed looking at everybody's cards. Some of them are truly superb!. I am extremely jealous!! >:(...LOL!!!

Here are pics of my own cards that i pulled. They are not in the same class as a lot of the cards shown in this thread but i am really pleased with them!.
Not too bad considering i only had two sad lonely little boxes :'(

Pulled from my first box
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v635/MichelDelving/cards/DSCF3799.jpg)

Only a plain swatch i know, but i'm so glad i got something of Hermione's ;D

And here are my pulls from my second box
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v635/MichelDelving/cards/DSCF3790.jpg)

I really like this card ;D. I'm not normally very lucky when it comes to different variants of cards. I usuall end up with a plain swatch.

Sorry that the pics are not that great. I had to take the pics without the flash as everytime i took pics with it on i kept getting a really bad glare.

Those are two wonderful boxes there, stoney. You pulled some really solid cards. The Hermione from the first and the beautiful Ministry Munchies from the second are easily worth more than their respective boxes. Im really digging the Munchies card. Fabulous pull! Congrats!

So I suppose I will start with the Order of the Phoenix set. Ive had quite the haul these last couple days, over ten packages just yesterday and today. I had some pretty good cards show up on my doorstep with a few marvelous surprises to boot. I also got my Dumbledore's Army list and Platform 9 3/4 ticket replica props, which look fabulous. I really like the ticket. I cant wait to get my whole display arrangement up. So here you are:

Both of these courtesy of Paul (The Razzer). Thank you so much!

no probs jon!  :)

you got them all right then.

are you going for all 001 and all last numbers or just either??

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: Jon September 09, 2007, 02:58:25 AM
Definitely all for both 001's and last numbers. I have tabs on all the first and lasts that I have either missed or lost on ebay as well as people who have pulled them that dont want to sell at the moment. So, now Im just waiting for cards to pop up in other places. I think where I have failed in the past with other sets, I have an advantage. I started hunting the second the cards started to show up on ebay, something I didnt do with other sets. I just won a OOTP Ci2 Voldemort Robes 200/200, so that will be the first card I have both the number one and last.

I love the cells, but no, the card isn't worth $100. ::)  But, who knows?  There are a lot of new HP collectors, and one of them might think it's a must-have card.

: Re: OOTP scans and comments

This is a serious Harry Potter fan.  He doesn't know Bellatrix Lestrange killed Sirius.  He doesn't know how to spell Voldemort or Sirius either.  Gees buy a copy of the book will you or at least check out Harry Potter Lexicon.  I do like his taste in OOP Film Cards.  I own several he's got up for sale.  Shame I don't want to part with them.  I wish I could get his prices too.

: Re: OOTP scans and comments
: Bitsy October 29, 2007, 02:08:47 AM
:o And I thought $25 was a bit steep for a film card!

Great cells, no doubt, but $100 bucks!  :o

: Re: OOTP scans and comments

Geez! I can't imagine paying that much for a cell (and I am a newbie too, haha).  Nice cell though - don't know if it's a $100 nice (just my opinion)  :D

That's one of the foil/Puzzle cards from the retail set.

: Re: OOTP scans and comments

That's an awesome card, but way overpriced. Then again, it might be pretty interesting if it had been listed as an auction with a start price of $9.99. Who knows, that Harry card really took off at the end.

You and me both sfmuggle  :)  I believe that every set had a separate retail foil lot of 9 but I have only recently seen the deatheater foils..  they are nice looking cards.

Would anyone in the YakShack be able to show us pics of what retail sets are out there?

And I am wondering why they aren't illustrated in the price guide.  Is it because they aren't from hobby boxes?

They do look nice, PepperD  :)  I always thought that the only difference between Hobby and Retail is the inserts or lack of.  I guess they have different foil chase puzzle cards too.

I think the only difference between the GOF and GoFU Hobby Box Foil Cards and the Retail Foil Cards were the backgrounds were different.  The Retail foil card's backgrounds are in different colors and the hobby box ones are all the same color.  I will try and scan my foil cards and post them for the sets.

FANTASTIC Ministry Munchies Bag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :o

Funny misprint on the Foil Stamping! I've had some bizarre cards before...I think the strangest one was my Hermione Film Card from GOF with two different scenes overlaying each other--one of Hermione in GOF and the other of Hermione in POA. I actually really like that one.  :)

Love the munchies bag! :)  Maybe the base card got stuck to the front of another card, especially with the finish removed across the bottom of the card.  If you like oddities, it would be worth keeping it, but you might be able to sell it on eBay.

John, I don't think its just an imprint from a non-dry foil stamping pressing against it - I think it's literally been fed through the machine the wrong way and then stamped it on the back inadvertently (it seems damaged at the back on the bottom too?) Very interesting

I have a set of promos from GOF (or GOF, can't remember off hand) which are supposed to be green but the foil has been left off altogether (I think Thomas may also have one?) it's really interesting...

I found these items up for auction on :ebay: UK. I think this is the prop that was used to make theMunchie Bag prop card.

It's nice to see that the Muggle educational system is not the only one with idiots running it.
