Okay, folks, the HP 3D set is out with tons of auctions and OOTP will be shipped next week.  We're looking for some people to enter auctions in the price guide.  There are too many HP auctions for one or two people to handle -- it really is a community project, especially since we all benefit from it. :)

You can enter your wins, completed items from your watch list, or even the listings for a card or two that are your favorites.  If you can help, please let me know! :)

I wish I could help the way I did before. I used to add 30+ auctions a week back when GOFU-MM were out but for some reason most auctions I add never show up in the guide now, at least not under the "View auctions for this card" :-[. If I try to add them again it says the auction's been logged already. So they're in the db but not showing up there (at least I can't see them).

A. No it's not. Now I'm sure you are a very thorough person and never make silly mistakes, but some folk are - shall we say - less than perfect. I'm not making any judgements, I'm just as bad - trust me! But this site is designed to give accurate information to the W-H-O-L-E W-O-R-L-D! (Imagine that for a second). So if some miscreant comes and enters some stupid data that our software can't stop because it looks too much like real data, or someone simply mis-types some info we don't want it messing up the site for everyone else. So you see, it's nothing personal, we just like to make sure.
 
If you have any further problems can you please contact me? If by any chance you have an auction number exhibiting this peculiar trait then that would be very interesting.

I know you guys double-check the entries before adding them and that's necessary to prevent the wrong data getting there :), what I meant is that I can't see the entries, none of them and have no idea if that's due to my new browser/cache/etc or just my luck ::).

Ahhhhhhh well then that's veeeeeeeeeeery important! Can you do me a screen grab? What browser do you use? And preferably LMK which version. It may well be that you are not the only one suffering and would be nice to get this sorted out (plus I notice that our nice little yearly graphs have disappeared), if we have any Shack maintenance it's important to get it in to Mark's schedule as he's due to finish some big projects at the end of the month :)

I noticed when I was inputting the COS & MM auctions that the pages seemed to 'stick' - they took an age to load - which isn't too drastic if you're only doing a couple of auctions, but when you're trying to get a whole batch done then it took an absolute a-a-a-a-g-e to get through them all! :-\
I'm using IE version 7.0 on a fast cable broadband connection, but it didn't seem to make any difference.
I'll have another go at some more over the weekend and let you know how I get on, although I know other people have been having the same problems with pages loading or not loading as me. ;)

The page that sticks for me is the one after you have entered the auction number....

Yep me too and it also has a think about it once I've input the data and hit the enter key to log it.
In fact I only had one or two auctions out of however many I did over a number of days where the pages actually loaded promptly ... sheesh it was like pulling teeth it was that slow and painful ...  ::) :-\

I haven't had any problem yet (knock on wood) with entering information.

I've been a slacker, but I need to go back through my bid/watch history & enter the rest of the items I bid on or had on watch - this includes lots of various sets the Shack has in the price guide.  The way I look at it, I use it often so I should update it often.  I've probably got 20-40 auctions to input just from that...  I just have to remember to include any variant information - most of what I bid on is NOT a variant...

It would be nice if all the bidders, buyers, and sellers who are on the Shack would enter in their information.  The more, the merrier, right?

Yes, the more, the merrier!  The more people who enter auctions, the less each individual has to do. :)

I have the same problem as you Jules - the screen hanging once you click submit.  I had noticed the little graphs disappeared some time ago but I thought Mark had taken them off to save some bandwidth.

I would volunteer to do some HP but I sort of have my hands full with Lost and the odd LOTR blitz.  Sorry.

I just cleaned out my ended items and added all the auctions that had not already been entered.  I am not having a problem with that one screen taking forever to load, but I am at my parents house right now.  I have noticed that problem on my own PC at home, which is why I rarely enter the information, but I dogsit for my parents every other weekend in the summer and will clear out my ended items while I am here by entering them.

If anyone has a few minutes today, I could really use some help entering auctions for all of the 3D autos (except Harry and Fudge -- did those this morning).  The autos are the easiest auctions to enter, because there are no card numbers and usually no variants or special comments.  Thanks! :)

I can help, but I'll need a specific task to work on - so if someone can pm me with something like "Joanna - go get all the ended auctions for (insert item name here)" then I'll get cracking. Otherwise, I'd be swimming in an ocean and have no clue where the shore was ...

I input a good 40+ items from various sets yesterday from my "not won" auctions & will probably be entering about the same amount today...

I also remember some of the seller namess within the past two weeks who've sold a lot of Potter stuff so I'll be looking through their ended auctions to enter those...

For World of Potter in 3D I entered the sole auction for C8/Hermione Trousers & CT1.  I imagine there's little for CT2 as well...

I found 14 completed auctions for the C8 and three for the CT2.  The case toppers are often sold together, so those auctions don't count.

It's really appreciated, so please keep it up, especially with the imminent release of OOTP! I can't wait :D

I entered in the auctions that Cindy asked me too - even though I did make one booboo, but had a question after I finished today's lot ... Do you want auctions that did not sell (there is a button to check if it did sell, but was wondering if anyone cared how many did not sell) and, I saw after the fact, that some people entered in the Comments Field if it was a BIN (Buy It Now) - should I do the same? I will continue doing this until someone tells me otherwise *lol*

Hey Joanna, Thanks for entering in those auctions. Cindy has passed on your booboo and I have used LucasArts branded BooBooBeGone (this is their home branded tip ex in the adventure game Day of the Tentacle from the 90s... ahhhh!) to amend it :)

If people do see any errors whilst using the guide, e.g. a decimal point in the wrong place etc, then please do click on the 'report it' option because inevitably errors slip through the net - thanks.

I think we only put in the 'tick here if sold' option so that people could put in any interesting auctions which didn't sell. By unticking that box it ensures that the price is not included in the averages listed, so don't go too far out of your way to include auctions that haven't sold.

Well, from the auctions I entered I didn't bother with those items which didn't sell and I put 'BIN' in the notes section if that was the type of sale the auction was.
I know it slows you down, but I also did a short description if I thought it was worth mentioning a particular feature (pattern, colour that sort of thing) in the notes section too whether they were variants or not, because once the auction listing has expired on ebay that description will be the only thing to differentiate one card from another.

Yay for BooBooBeGone!!  I will enter in the sold auctions then and not worry about the unsold ones - unless they merit some observation. I can enter in the BIN's no problem too :) Thanks for keeping me honest ;)

Ended auctions tip - if you know the seller go to advanced search and enter their username & click on "completed auctions".  That'll show all auctions for the past 30 days.   If you click on "completed auctions" for that seller's items any other way it's WAY less than that - it looked like 7 days...

Now that OOTP cards are out there is a great need to get those auctions into the price guide.  Right now there is an ENORMOUS amount of Potter cards on ebay.  If everyone could make sure & submit all auctions they've A) bid on or B) put on watch (that have ended) I'm sure it would be a great help.

I just entered a bunch of auctions, mostly OOTP and POA/POAU, from my won, didn't win, and watch lists.  Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Potter auction help seems to be desperately needed...  I entered in a couple of 3D costumes & less than 10 had been entered for each.  Between 3D, OOTP, and SDCC cards (both exclusive & pulls from goodie boxes) I know *I* am having a hard time keeping them all straight, much less entering them...

I'm trying to enter all completed items from sellers when I buy something from that seller, but I can be a little obsessive that way :D

I was bored last night and I enetered about 20 OOTP auctions that had finished; the ones Ive bid on, and, at the time, the most recently ended. Ill do more tonight.

Just sent in all the auctions Ive won in the last week.

Thanks! :)  I entered about half of my watch list/ended items yesterday.  It was nice to free up some space for the new things I want to watch. ;)

Ive been bored at work, so I entered another 35+ auctions. Just curious; when might we see an update? :)

Are there any pictures or anything you may need for the price guide? If there are, let me know. I can get scans of the SDCC exclusives if you like.

Each auction has to be verified by either Roz or myself so that's why there is a lag between submissions and the guide being updated.

I was reviewing the magnificent Price Guide and think that I may have found someting interesting. The Chase cards R1-R9 for GOF and GOFU show the same images for the Fronts and Backs. I also noticed that Jeff (Hi, Jeff) has some similarities in his list for the two sets of R1-R9.
Anyway here are the images for GOF that I have. Anyone who wishes may use them. I also put the GOFU pix here below GOF.

I added some new HP auction data for 3 and 5 Nov as well.

I've been trying to routinely enter HP cards that I've either won or didn't win to the price guide b/c I've been (til recently) mostly OoTP cards.  I'll re-double my efforts to try to include other HP auctions as well.

I entered a lot of auctions this morning and wanted to let everyone know that all of the issues with the price guide have been fixed!  It's incredibly easy to enter the info and there are no more long waits for the data to process and the next page to appear.  Thanks, Mark!

It's true, but there's nothing for me to verify at the moment and the OOTPU set is looking very sad for auctions at the moment... will anyone help out? You don't have to say "I'll do all of OOTPU" if it's too much, maybe take just the autos for a while or just the film/costume cards... whatever you are collecting.
