Having 4 boys, I'm a pretty strong person!! Ya gotta be!!!  ;)
I can pretty much take on anything they dish out to me....
the fights, owies, blood, puke....bring it on!!!!  :rofl:
But I'm going to have a "first" come Tuesday. And I have to
admit, I'm a little nervous!  :-\ So I need some encouragement
from every one!!!  :o=
Friday night my youngest (4) fell face first on a flatbed...tripped
I guess (from what other brother says). Came to the door with
blood all around his mouth. Washed him up and saw that he had
a small puncture on the crease of his lip....and it appeared he had
knocked out two of his front teeth. Took him to ER...found out that
he knocked out one completely out, and broke the other in half...could still see
it slightly....they did cat scan to make sure there were no fractures...
and then glued his puncture together.  I call my dentist Sat morning and he demanded to see him...took him in...dentist took xray...and came to find out that his tooth is not broken....he actually jammed it completely back into his gums. With the swelling, it is not even visable any longer.  :'( So it has to be surgically removed Tuesday...and he has to "go under". None of my kids have needed surgery before, so I'm starting to get scared as the day grows nearer! So please, please, please,  :o= :o= if I could have some thoughts/prayers coming from all over, I feel that will help!!!  :) Thanks!!

My thoughts are with you totally I have had loads of freimds and relatives have operations and have been fine, my brother had his tonsils out when he was 3 I was only 10 at the time but was still really worried and I could feel the tension from my parents.

it's a first time with your kids....it's very nerve-racking!!  :(

Oh, the poor little guy.  My thoughts are with you as well. I bet once this is over, you will feel much better.  Just try to hang on until then.

Oh Jackie, I feel for you and Isiek! :'(  Were the two teeth baby teeth?  It won't take the dentist a lot of time to do the work, so your son shouldn't be under long.  Plus, kids bounce back from anesthesia more easily than adults.  Do you know what punctured his lip?  I'll be thinking about you on Tuesday. These were baby teeth! Whew!! But I'm sure he won't get his
adult teeth for a few years...at least that has been the pattern
for my kids. So he'll be slurring for quite a while!!  :)
 I don't know what punctured his lip. But it has mended
back thanks to the gluing!  :) Just needs TLC now!  ;)

I would imagine it was his tooth that caused the puncture in his lip Jackie ... oh and LOTS of tlc is definitely the order of the day, as long as your other three don't get the bright idea of emulating him so they get fussed over too! ::) :P

Thoughts are with you  Jenny now 12 had to have a op so i knw what you a feeling so all oyr thoughts and prayers will be with your whole family .

You are a strong woman, so I have no doubt you will get through this fine.  My second nephew had to have surgery when he was about three.  He had a small piece of bone over his eye that had to be removed.  He got through the surgery fine.  My fondest memories in retospect is of him after surgery.  My sister live in Richmond Hill which is a ways from Savannah where the surgery took place.  She brought him by our house after surgery, so they would be close to the hospital if he need to go the emergency room or something.  When they got here, Marilyn Anne tried to get him to lay down.  She got him in the bed, and then the door bell rang.  In a flash he was sitting up in the bed anouncing to us he would get it.  My mother heads to the door with Jay following right behind her.  It was the postman delivering something.  After that we gave up trying to get Jay to stay in the bed and let him lie down on the loveseat on the den.  Everything was fine until he tries to get up and does a 180 degree flip off the love seat.  I swear to god it all happened in slow motion.  Marilyn Anne and I watched helplessly  as he did a triple flip and landed on the floor.  Jay didn't cry.  He was so out of it he didn't even know what happened.  Anyway, Jay will be nine Thursday and is doing fine.  I will keep your son and the rest of your family in my thoughts a prayers this week.  I'm sure you'll will get through everything fine and will laugh about it in a few years.  Good luck trying to keep him still after surgery.

Last August, a very similar thing happened to my youngest (then 9 year old sister)!

She was playing on some playground equipment and slipped. Somehow, she managed to fall face first and the pressure of the fall was broken by her front two teeth. One tooth was shattered, the other had fallen out. She's had to have the remains of the shattered tooth removed and is wearing a plate until she gets old enough for something permanent to be put in. The nerves to those teeth have since died (she almost had a life threatening infection because of it). I went to pick her up after the accident. The amazing thing was, she didn't cry or show any fear at all during the entire incident, or afterwards. It might have been shock, but I was impressed all the same.

It's "lucky" that your son's teeth were baby teeth - my sister's teeth were permanent. Not that its any easier!! My thoughts and best wishes are with you, your son and entire family :o= :o= :o=

Bless his cotton socks. Poor lad. That must have absoloutely killed. I can't imagine the blood curdling shout that came down the stairs to you and the panic that filled you as you ran upstairs to see what the commotion was.

We'll all be thinking of you and Iseik in the coming week. But the force will be with him ;)

Your son Isiek looks like a tough little guy and my hat is off to him.   :)  He will be just fine so keep your spirits up.  As the old saying goes "God looks after little kids and drunks"!   ;)

How strange is that, Jo!!!  :o WOW! I am grateful that these are baby teeth. I asked the dentist if he would need to have spacers put in, but it's practically impossible on kids this small. And really not necessary!

Wow Jax I know I'm a little late here, but how is he doing now? 

My dentist said the same thing.  My son managed to knock out a front baby tooth when he was jumping on a bed and somehow smashed his knee into his mouth.  The tooth fell out, but there was no other damage done and the adult tooth grew in about six months later.  Until then, I hope Isiek's favorite veggie isn't corn on the cob! :)  Good luck tomorrow.

My best wishes to Iseik and you, I am sure everything will be fine.  I think a very healthy supply of jelly and ice cream will be the order of the day for after the op  ;D

First, I would like to thank everyone for their warm thoughts and encouragement!! I can’t tell you how much you all have helped me to be strong! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!  :-* But...we’re not through this ordeal yet!!  :'( On Saturday, our dentist recommended that we go to a specialist (MD) to have this procedure done. That is were we were yesterday. When we arrived, more X-rays (let me tell you, Iseik is soooooo done with these).  But this one was pretty cool, takes a panoramic shot of your whole jaw! Well, the DR. studied it, counted Iseik’s teeth, and then recounted, and recounted again! He then came to the conclusion that Iseik has 3 adult top front teeth, instead of two! The DR. had an idea of what he wanted to do, but felt it would be necessary for us to get a second opinion. So he sent us to a pediatric dentist…had more X-rays, and she also came to the same conclusion…to take out the one tooth that had been jammed, take out the “extra” adult front tooth (since it has to be done eventually anyways), and the baby front tooth that still exists right now (to give the adult teeth room to grow out correctly). So back to the DR we went, thinking we were having it done. When we got there, the DR was in emergency surgery and admitted that he would feel more comfortable doing it another day (since he had a booked schedule, and hadn’t had lunch yet…it was about 1:30 pm, plus Iseik had been fasting and was getting irritated). So it has been rescheduled for tomorrow (Thurs) at 11:30. So may I pretty please ask for the happy thoughts to continue through tomorrow?  :o= You all have been tremendously helpful!! I Thank You!!  :-* :)

My prayers are definately with you - none of my boys have needed surgery either though I dread the day it'll come (and it'll come, I know!) Here's a load of happy thoughts to get you through :

Oh, poor little guy. I know you all just want this over with...it will be soon and all will turn out just fine.  Just think, everything will be done by Harry Potter! Perhaps, if something like this had to happen, it isn't bad that it occurred during a summer when there is so much magic.

Jackie hope that the little guy is ok  :( I know what its like to have orrid things done to ones teeth I use to play Rugby as a kid and lost a number in that way  ::) Kids are tough so I think he will be fine but it must be such a worry for you, will keep you all in our thoughts  ;D

I've been out of touch due to a family vacation.  Hope he's doing better now & gets through the surgery successfully!  It's good you've had so many opinions & X-rays - it sure helps knowing you're doing the right thing!

I don't know if you want to hear this, but this accident seems to be a blessing in disguise.  You found out about a problem that would have only gotten worse as time went by.  I had a similar problem with my teeth.  They were too big for my mouth.  My bottom eye teeth came in front of my other teeth.  I looked weird with upside down fang.  They had to remove two upper teeth or my upper eye teeth would have come straight out.  I can understand your son getting tired of dentist and x-rays.  I had double hip replacement this last year.  I was so tired of doctors and hospitals I could scream.  The waiting is always the worse.  Hopefully everything will be over tomorrow.  My prayers are still with you. 

Fingers and toes crossed for you Jackie! Im sure everything will go fantastically, and at least both problems will be fixed in one go!

eventually!! And this accident just pushed up the time to get it done!!  :)
The doctor actually ended up taking out 4 teeth!  :o Both baby eye teeth (one of those was the one that was jammed in his gum from the accident), his remaining baby front tooth, and the extra adult one they found in the X-ray! So he has a huge gap now!! I'll get a new picture up here of him.......as soon as he comes in from playing outside!!!!  :o :rofl: :rofl: I can't believe it!!!! He's out there playing light sabers with his brothers!!!  :rofl: What a trooper!!!  8)

Thank you to each and every one of you!!!! All of your encouragements helped me make it through this!!!! I even received a huge compliment from the doctor on how strong I was for Iseik!!  ;D Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!  0:) 8) ;D

Gone are the days when it was six old pence (a tanner as they were affectionately known in olden times!  ::) :P) per tooth - the going rate here is £1 per tooth and £2 per molar! :o

Glad everything went well and you managed to keep it all together when you needed to.
I think perhaps seeing him playing outside will have made it so much easier for you too - kids are incredibly resililent! ;) 8)

HA!! You have no idea!!! On Tuesday, to try and "help"  comfort Iseik due to
visiting so many doctors, Dad promised him one new toy tractor (had to be John Deere's of course) for each doctor we saw!!!! So that day was three, (plus grandma HAD to get some too  ::) ) and today was one! Iseik has made out pretty good so far without the tooth fairy!!!  :rofl:

oh heck!! hee hee hee ... just make sure none of the rest of you trip over all these tractors he's getting - don't want any more vistists to the doctors or dentists for anyone else!  ;) ;D
Kids soon cotton on that they can squeeze something out of their worried and over-anxious parents and grandparents in situations like these, but in all honesty what does it really matter - you'd do pretty much anything to get them through treatment like this and if it takes a tractor or three well I'm sure it will be worth it.  ;D
Just be sure to get some really good clear photos of him with this huge gap in his front teeth so you have something to use as leverage should he become a brat with the the ladies and you have a wonderful, embarrassing pic to show his girlfriend! *mwahahahaha*  ^-^ >:D

Nope!!! There is only one stitch left...barely visable...on his right side.
There were a total of 3 dissolvable stitches. There has been no swelling or redness!!
This doctor we went to did an incredible job!!  ;D

Little heart! What a brave one! Like Cindy said, he doesn't even look like he's had surgery!  :o The doctor truly did do an amazing job! So happy everything has worked out.  :) :D ;D

Well with that fortitude he has the right mental state to become a Rugby Player LOL So glad that he is ok  :o=
