the autograph list is just amazing for this set. I think this set is going to be HUGE. The sketch cards are incredible looking and the signers are beyond what I expected. My order just increased ten fold.

nope, he is confirmed as an actual on card signer. I would imagine he will sign 50-100 cards. It will be very very limited (even more than ROTS Sam Jackson limited) but it will be out there...Sam Jackson sells for $1000 pretty consistantly...I wonder how much this card will go for.

This is going to be my first SW set I'll be getting (well, besides the
1977 set  ::) ) and at first, I was upset. I wanted sketches more than
autos!! But now, I'm a little psyched!!!  8)

Oh wow! A Harrison auto! And Carrie Fisher! Mark Hamill would be awesome too.  Amazing! Wish I could get one!

This set is really going to be huge!  I can't wait to rip into my packs...I've only ordered 2 cases, and I get a free box from Topps for doing sketch cards...I just hope Sid can blow some imaginary kisses my way just before I open them all...

...being  a die hard LOTR OCD collector, I really didn't want to shift my mental loyalty to Star Wars...but...with the Tolkien/Campbell-Jackson/Lucas-mythology/creativity connection...these epic stories are really one and the same...and so they both hold a place in my collecting heart...especially since these are the only sets I've done sketch cards for...and really can't see myself adding to that mix at all...(okay, maybe if there's a "Raiders of the Lost Ark" set, or something related to Hitchcock... :o=)

...I was lucky enough to buy a Revenge of the Sith and a Heritage box relatively recently...pulled a Walks Windu (which I traded regretfully) and a James Earl Jones auto...which I'll use to start my new OCD Star Wars collection...it will look great next to my Harrison Ford auto... ;) ;D :o=!

harrison ford odds 1:49,602 !!!!!!!!!!

mark hamill is not signing, but there is a long list of signers.  overall odds are 1:43 for autos and 1:50 for sketches.

More high odds though are 1:6,000 and 1:4,500  for fisher, mayhew, daniels and prowse.

Better order a few more cases.  those autos are gonna get a high price on  :ebay:

calculations on the number of cards Ford
signed..... a whopping 10!!!  >:(

As an auto collector I do not mind the basicly 5:3 odds on autos to sketches, however, it would have been nice for everyone if it was at least even at 4:4. I think even the large amount artists like Christian Dalla Vecchia will be selling for a little more than normal due simply to the rarity of sketches in this product. I think we are looking at around 2500 cases, give or take.

Total sketches   9762

Which gives us an estimated total sketches and signed cards of 22,115.  Also an estimated 492,040 packs, 20,502 boxes, and 2,563 cases.  At the 20,502 boxes and 22,115 total premium inserts it leaves 1,613 premium inserts to either be held back for damages or to allow for an extra premium insert every 3 cases as indicated in the above odds.  Some will be held back for damaged cards, but I doubt that 1,613 cards will be held back, so I think you can look forward to getting 1 sketch or autograph in every box.  And if you don't get one or the other, I would still send the empty box to topps, and I would hope they would take care of the problem, as they always have for the products I have bought from them.

so no chance of a Harrison auto then?? ::)

but what do you think a gold parallel 120 card set would fetch.  that's gonna be a challenge to assemble!!

or even the blue and red sets.  someone has them up on  :ebay:.  red set for a couple of thousand $$$ and a blue set for couple of hundred $$$ - which might not be a bad investment.

but a master set on this is not going to happen.  unless the lottery numbers come in :rofl:

Does anyone know when their boxes are arriving of SW?  I had to pay for my preorder and was told they would probably ship to me on Friday.  I don't know who the distributor is that is shipping so I am hoping to get them in the next couple days.  I can't wait to see what sketches I pull.  Oh and the Ford auto that will be in there too :rofl:

I'm getting from two different places. One case will be delivered to me on Thursday and was told yesterday from the other supplier that it was being shipped to me yesterday or today. So I should have all of mine by the end of the week!!  :o=

Just opened my first of two cases.  I pulled 3 sketches and 5 autos.  I must say I am a little disappointed only 1 character auto (Biggs) and 4 scrub autos (bantha poop scooper # 1, Jawa translater #6, key grip # 2, Lightsaber technician #5).

I do like the 3 sketches, but would be much happier if I would have had at least had 1 more sketch in my case :'(  Well maybe my other case will make up for it.  Fingers crossed.

Considering he signed all of 10-20 cards I would guess his hand was pretty tired about half way through.  I would have thought he could have signed at least 100 for the fanatics of the movies that made him a star :-\

Ah yes, I did not consider this...the poor love I hope there is no lasting damage to his hand!

Actually, he didn't sign ANY cards.  He signed stickers.  And it's estimated that they used about 10 of them for this release.

But think about it.  Do you really think that Topps just had him sign 10 stickers.  No.  They had him sign enough that they can use them for the upcoming Indiana Jones movie cards, since there's no card image involved with a sticker it's no problem getting that auto a year or two prior.

Next Star Wars set?  Another 10 Fords?  No problem, Topps has some stickers for that.

Baseball set with 'pop culture' subset, no problem.  1 sticker and you have a Harrison Ford 1 of 1.

Oh, did I mention I hate stickers.  >:()  They allow the card companies to play way too many games with the autographs.

Should be interesting to watch the first one though, I'm guessing not a lot of these will show up for sale.  Any hard-core Star Wars collector will keep it.

I want to see a Gold Parallel set made too.  With only 30 of each card, they are a $50+ card, making it a $6000 set?

We too opened a case of this. We kind of beat the odds a little - 6 sketches and 3 autos. I won't disrespect the signers, but one gentleman was a behind-the-scenes guy, and the other two were among the most common signers. Our sketches were all pencil - no colored sketches and were Cat Staggs Luke x 2, Otis Frampton x 2 (different characters), Ryan Waterhouse and Davide Fabbri. I'm satisfied, though not ecstatic - I was really hoping to pull a "new" artist - one I didn't already have tons of from previous sets (and the Fabbri looks exactly like a sketch from a previous set). We also got a Gold Card - which will likely go on the 'bay this weekend.

Well, case one arrived on Thursday and this is what was pulled from that.

My 12 cases arrived today and i have opened 3 cases so far and am having a good break in my opinion. i cant remember when but one box had 2 big cards in it as i have 25 autos and sketches so far. i will post my scans and a full break down once fully opened.

Hi All I have opened my 10 cases now and I am pretty happy the autos were a let down but the sketches were great have a look at my yield and let me know what you think, I had 2 dud boxes in total but had some cases with an extra auto so ended up doing very well and got 7 gold cards  ;D

I agree it is so lifelike and with the rarity of his cards it is a great card the first card pulled was the Cowan Boba Fett which is a painted card and the detail is great on the whole i was really pleased with the pulls as i think I got a good selection of the rarer artists.
I still have one case left but i am saving that for my birthday on the 20th of august.

Wow some great sketches everyone.

I must say I am a little disappointed with my 2 cases.  I am not sure exactly which ones were in each case so I just scanned 8 x 2.  Both cases had 3 sketches and 5 autos.  I think I would have felt much better if I had at least had 4 sketches per case.  Or at least 1 decent auto per case.  It doesn't seem fair that some case had more than 4 sketches and some had more than 4 autos.  You would think they would have at least been able to split it.   :-\ 

I do like the few sketches I pulled, but for the price of 2 cases the autos sucked IMO and considering I am only interested in the sketches I could have saved myself a boatload of money by just buying the sketches and a base set.

Topps have definately made a boo boo on the collation for this set.  lucky if you get a good case but not fair if you don't.  rich was saying he opened 10 cases and didn't get 1 good auto.

i couldn't believe my luck.  first pack of the first box was prowse, next box was mayhew, then daniels!!! i suppose it wouldbe too much luck to have a harrison or fisher auto in there as well. i'mhappy with that cast though.  see if the other 3 yield the same luck. ;D

great case, now i am slightly annoyed a daniels 2x mayhews and a prowse collation is a total joke based on insert retios I was relieved to pull the prowse but for one case to hold so many good autos it is a bit of a joke.

its not just me either with a fluke case.  if you check out the scoundrel website, there are a few posts on their forum where cases have yielded the same sort of inserts. 

the same is true of sketch cards also.  someone pulled 2 Rafael Kanyan's from the same case.

also reports of dud boxes and boxes with 2 autos in.

lol - congratulations. I'm sure it hurts to see a break like that in one case when some people haven't had anything that good in 10, I haven't bought any of this set, it's not my cup of tea, but I have been in that situation many times before, but we need to hear if the other cases are magic too ;) so get cracking :)

no that is definetly a fluke.

Some people have pulled two high end autos in a case, but never 4. And you misread the post about the double Kayanan. The guy opened 3 or more cases and pulled them out of multiple cases from the same shipment.

Just to clarify. It was me who pulled the two kayanans and they were from the same case.

I stand corrected and I apoligize Razzer, it was I who Misread. I thought he opened up a couple cases and happened to pull them from the cases opened.

This haul came from 3 cases. I also got a second Hickman Wringwraith, I mean Jawa. 12 auto cards including two R2D2s in one box and 5 gold cards.

Sketch wise i think this is the best break anyone has had. I realise I'm extremely lucky as the ratio of sketch inserts is seriously skewded.

To get two Kayanans in one case is unbelievable. I got the one and was amazed when I opened the last box in the case and got another my jaw hit the floor!

Wow, super bunch of sketches there!  I would love to see one of those Kayanan Chewbaccas up close to see how he did the fur.  I haven't seen all the artists from this set yet, but I think Len's cards are some of the best.  That X-wing destroying the death star scene you have is amazing!  I can see the speed!  And I don't say that just because you post here, Len.  ;)

...jeez Kelly, thanks so much...I really hope everyday collectors get a chance to pull a great and worked and colorful sketch card like so many artists seem to have created in this terrific Star Wars 30th Anniversary set...


...I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that this film, and The Lord of the Rings as well, really put a zap in people's mind set whenever they first saw this brilliant film...and it's revolutionary and groundbreaking imagery and epic "hero's path" theme has not only stayed the course over these past 30 years, but still has the legs to garner new fans each and every day...

...and Almath...those are sensational pulls...Kayanan's Chewbacca seems to radiate thin purples in his hair...some of the finest illustrations I've seen...just breathtaking... :o

...and Jackie...I can't believe you were able to finagle one of Ingrid's "Luke" sketch cards from her...man, I was really asleep at the wheel when all this behind the scenes wheeling and dealing was going on...

...and I LOVE the Jeff Chandler "Luke" as well...

I was also able to get one an Otis Framton "returned 6" sketch card as well, but the scan he has posted was done before he added a little something to the sketch before all his cards were shipped back to Topps for packaging...I'll post it when it arrives because I haven't seen the "new" version myself...but it's a Jawa kind of tilting into the sketch from the right at a 45 degree angle...and Otis asked if there was anything I wanted added to it, and I asked if he could add the twin Tatooine suns in the background space...can't wait to see it!  ;D

I almost didn't get one of hers! When I contacted her, all six had been spoken for...but one fell through!! So YAY for me!!!  ;D I like the way Ingrid did her six though! She let me choose "the one" I wanted out of all of her sketches she did for the set!! So you know me...gotta have the best looking Luke!!!  8) ;)

No kidding - that card just makes me sad :( I kinda wish I hadn't seen it. The artwork is stunning - it's the subject matter that's disturbing. When my son saw it - he thought they were babies being put on a fire

here is what i got from the other 3 cases i bought.  Autos are no where near as good as the first case, but that was an exception  ;D

plus side is i only got 3 dupes.

I'm happy with the sketches except the fact i got three of Fabbri's vaders  >:().

favourite skecth is the colour Greedo by Ingrid Hardy, then the jawa scene by Cynthia Cummens.

Does anyone knowthe artist who did the Leia sketch??  any help would be appreciated.  i had a look on the SW sketch card website but couldn't find it.

one case also had 2 gold cards, which evens out at 1 per case as i had 4 from my 4 cases.  there was no dud boxes or anyhting unusual as what has been reported elsewhere.
