I've had a look and I've searched through ebay and I really can't see it. Sometimes it takes a while for more expensive items to show up, but in a 24 hour item, 4 hours in is too long. I'll keep looking. I'd like it though :P. It's a lovely bit of kit. : Re: My listing doesn't show on search on ebay : Bryanjs14 April 10, 2007, 02:20:07 AM Ebay is really weird about items priced over $200 (usually) especially very popular electronics like iPods, PS3's, Wii's ect ect...
It will show up...if you see the item in your "my ebay" then it will eventually show up. I have gone through the same problem before numerous times. : Re: My listing doesn't show on search on ebay : potter April 10, 2007, 01:05:08 PM I have had a look this morning and it does show up ;D so your probably right that more expensive items do take longer to show.
: Re: My listing doesn't show on search on ebay : Galea April 10, 2007, 01:37:00 PM so your probably right that more expensive items do take longer to show. I think so too, I've had cards over $200 showing up 24 hours later, it's ridiculous, that's not a 7-day listing ::). : Re: My listing doesn't show on search on ebay : kbmum April 10, 2007, 05:14:41 PM I received an eBay Announcements email last night that might explain what happened:
Proactive Fraud Reduction Today I want to let buyers and sellers know about another security measure we're taking. For safety reasons, items reportedly most favored by fraudsters may not be viewable for several hours before the listings are indexed into Search results. These new listings are still viewable on the site through My eBay or if you search for the specific item number; however, they are not immediately visible through a keyword search or Browse. To maximize exposure for these listings and ensure that buyers who browse by category see these items, we've made an important change. Any listings impacted by this review process will appear in the "Newly Listed" sort based on when they are made visible in Search (as opposed to when they are listed.) This ensures they will appear at the top of default Browse results - as well as within the "Newly Listed" sort option for Search - where they belong. What kinds of listings will be impacted? Unfortunately, it's not possible for us to give you criteria, because that information could be used by scammers to work around our Trust and Safety efforts. Overall, however, we expect this security measure to impact only a fraction of listings. Let me say that I understand that this has some impact for our sellers, but with the change to how we sort listings, and the fact that most bidding occurs in the final 12 hours of a listing, we believe it's the right step to take. I know we share the same goal – to keep eBay a welcoming, safe marketplace for both our buyers and our sellers. To learn more about these changes, please read our Frequently Asked Questions. http://pages.ebay.com/help/announcement/26.html : Re: My listing doesn't show on search on ebay : Bryanjs14 April 10, 2007, 09:45:40 PM yep...that is exactly what I thought. I am glad Ebay is doing this.
My little brother was selling his Nintendo DS last year to have some money for christmas time and I had to relist it 7 times before it actually sold. Every time I listed it, someone with (0) feedback would purchase it within an hour, and then within 3 or 4 hours after purchase that person would be kicked off ebay and I would have to file a claim with Ebay to get my listing and selling fees back. It really sucked for my brother especially who would always see that it sold and be really happy that is sold so quickly only for me to tell him it was a fraudulent bidder and we would have to relist it. A step in the right direction for ebay for sure. : Re: My listing doesn't show on search on ebay : potter April 11, 2007, 12:34:28 AM I am alittle bit suspicious I had a 0 bidder who won my ipod it ended at 5pm and he bidded at 4.40 and i've emailed him to ask if he could confirm checkout and I have had no response from him since after 5pm, he also registered on ebay the 8th April ::) , so its made me think his he genuine or not. I was sitting there thinking oh god a 0 bidder please get outbid which didn't happen :( : Re: My listing doesn't show on search on ebay : Bryanjs14 April 11, 2007, 12:59:52 AM I hope everything works out but I have a feeling you might be relisting the iPod. Sounds like exactly what happened to me. You should check his feedback to see if he is even still registered
: Re: My listing doesn't show on search on ebay : potter April 11, 2007, 01:08:21 AM I hope everything works out but I have a feeling you might be relisting the iPod. Sounds like exactly what happened to me. You should check his feedback to see if he is even still registered I have had alook at his feedback and he is still registered, I'm not too sure what to do because i state that payment is due within 5 days so do i wait til sunday or offer it has a second chance offer.: Re: My listing doesn't show on search on ebay : potter April 11, 2007, 01:16:20 AM Now im even more worried I've had alook on his bidding history and he has bidded on a few different things.
Item 1 Video Games > Games > Sony PlayStation/ PS1 1 Seller 1 1d 1h 8m 36s Item 2 Cars, Parts & Vehicles > Cars > Peugeot 1 Seller 2 3d 20h 20m 30s Item 3 Consumer Electronics > MP3 Players 1 Seller 3 19m 9s Item 4 Cars, Parts & Vehicles > Cars > Subaru 4 Seller 4 4d 22h 12m 23s Item 5 Cars, Parts & Vehicles > Cars > Honda 1 Seller 5 4d 1h 18m 53s Item 6 Cars, Parts & Vehicles > Cars > Vauxhall & Opel 1 Seller 6 9m 48s looks like he hasn't paid for them either : Re: My listing doesn't show on search on ebay : Roz April 11, 2007, 01:39:00 AM Oh! JUST what you need ::)
I think you might have to wait and see :( : Re: My listing doesn't show on search on ebay : kbmum April 11, 2007, 02:16:50 AM What's the gain for a bidder to never pay for auction wins? It isn't as if a seller would be stupid enough to ship before receiving payment.
: Re: My listing doesn't show on search on ebay : potter April 11, 2007, 02:19:29 AM I've had enough now, I now its only been 6 hours since its ended, but his activity seems abit strange to me, because why would you want to bid on car parts for different makes of cars ::) and I've offered it has a second chance offer now.
: Re: My listing doesn't show on search on ebay : kbmum April 11, 2007, 02:20:56 AM What are you going to do if the winning bidder pays you tonight? A lot of people don't pay right away and your auction terms do state that the buyer has five days to pay.
: Re: My listing doesn't show on search on ebay : potter April 11, 2007, 02:23:55 AM I don't think he is going to do, I have emailed him to let him know about the situation. In all my future listing I am not going to accept anyone with 0 feedback, I have had too many problems with them in the past.
: Re: My listing doesn't show on search on ebay : Nienna April 11, 2007, 04:27:39 AM Sounds like they're bidding on expensive stuff with somebody else's money to me.
Good luck with offering it as a second chance Steve, hopefully you'll get your money with no further problems. ;) :o= Just be sure to use fully insured signed-for postage like Special Delivery too when you come to post it - you don't want a chargeback against your account if they decide they want the iPod and not pay for it and 'claim' they haven't received it. :( : Re: My listing doesn't show on search on ebay : blackcat20 April 11, 2007, 06:25:07 AM I had this same problem last year trying to sell a mobile (cell) phone. A newly registered zero feedback bidder; they sent me by email a "money order" (quite obviously a fake) then insisted I post the item, send them the tracking number and then they would send me my money. Im not that stupid, so I filed with a complaint with ebay.... hopefully you get this one sorted
: Re: My listing doesn't show on search on ebay : potter April 11, 2007, 11:37:42 PM Just to let you all know that the person who I offered the second chance offer to as gone for it and paid aswel, so I only lost out on £1 :rofl: so I am quite happy about that. ;D
: Re: My listing doesn't show on search on ebay : Nienna April 12, 2007, 12:28:19 AM YAY!! That's excellent news Steve!! ;) ;D ;D ;D
