I had an email from artbox and it said it was 700 cases

I would love to dual autos of the young actors and older actors for Snape, Sirius, Lupin, and Wormtail. I would include James Potter but there is no adult actor for OOTP.  :)

Thanks, Chris!  Now we just need some card info.  It's not unexpected that Artbox has changed the shipping date from the 18th to the 25th.

Is it just me, or is anyone else annoyed with the way the movie directors have turned Ron into a simpering sideman?  I can't stand the expression on his face in the publicity shot seen on the side of the box.  The character comes across a lot stronger in the books.

I have no doubt it will be another great set I am really looking forward to it and I have no info yet but it may have loads to do with the fact I can't wait to see the film

and with so many great actors in this film the autos could be out of this world

The NSU website still has the last issue on the homepage, but there are a couple of threads in Card Talk that the new issue is available.  I couldn't find any when I searched on eBay.

Well I thought I would buy a couple as they were quite cheap as I will keep the one from my Mag when it comes but give it a few months and I will be looking for them for friends and the price will have gone up

PLEASE NOTE:  Several people with NSU subscriptions who have received their issues are reporting that the promos were NOT included.  It's likely that there was some sort of packaging error, because other subscribers did receive the promo packet).  I went ahead and ordered the issue, so I'll post when the magazine arrives.

Otherwise you are looking at approximately 2 inserts in each box, if the insert rate follows the other releases. The inserts could be either autos, costumes, props or filmcards.

Generally, the case breakdown is 5 autos, 10 costumes, 3 props and 3 film cards. So you may get a box with 3 inserts.

I was one of those people.  Apparently, it was a packaging error for the last batch that they sent out.  The rest of the people weren't affected.  They are sending out replacements at the end of the week.

Now that this info has come out, it would be really nice if Artbox would confirm some more details.  I'd love to see scans of some cards.

Here I am, trying so hard to be optimistic! ;)  I think it's ridiculous that they won't give out the info.  It doesn't matter that the set is sold out.  They should be doing this for good customer relations.  If we look down the road, once the last movie is out and Artbox does the DH and DH Update sets, what's left?  Years of filler sets.  One would think that they'd want to engender good will with their customers so those sets continue to do well long after the last movie is released on DVD.  But, perhaps that's just the PR professional in me coming out. ::)


All you have to do is look through the case and box breakdowns for other sets to see just how hard it is to pull a "really good card" from just two cases.  People do get lucky, but for the most part, the best that happens is a nice break of cards without many repeats.

What's the DH and DH Update sets?

It's the seventh and last book in the series -- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.  It's being released in July and there's quite a big buzz about it.  The movie will probably be released sometime in 2009 or 2010 (since Half Blood Prince hasn't started filming yet), at which time there will be DH and DH Update sets.  There's an entire board here devoted to discussion about the book.  You can find it here:

I just spoke to someone and they said that he is doing some sketch cards for a Harry Potter series. He didn't specify whch series, and he knows very little. Perhaps that OoTP might have them... or 3-D set?

There hasn't been any info about sketches in either 3D or OOTP (of course, there hasn't been much info about the sets, period).  If the rumor is true, maybe it's a new set.

Jim Kyle has a very nice Snape sketch on Ebay that he said he did as a sample for Artbox... perhaps its not as far away as we think! Sorry I can't post a link, Ebay is down for me :(

Well, there is a picture of what looks like a sketch of a Death Eater in the new NSU....I could be wrong though.  It is definitely a drawing of something.  I was wondering what it was doing in there.  It is in the left hand corner of the first page of the article, if you are looking for it.
Also, it sounds like there will be retail boxes of this stuff.  It mentions that there will be 9 foils for hobby and 9 different foils for retail.  It says that the international and domestic retail versions will match while hobby will have different chase cards.

Could the Death Eater card by a foil?  Artbox often uses drawings for the foil sets.  I'm surprised that the US and international hobby boxes will have different chase cards.

He actually did a total of 7 cards for artbox.

I didn't realise that the artist was the one auctioning the cards till I got the email address to send the paypal payment to. I just sent him an email asking if he could tell me anything on artbox using sketchcards  - so if he divulges any thing I will be sure to post it.  ;)

I don't know.  It was kind of hard to tell.  It looked hand-drawn but it had a funny border around it. 
Maybe I read the chase card thing wrong.  I read the article as meaning that the chase for the hobby would be different than anything you got in retail.

I think I read your post wrong. :)  The POA and POAU releases had different foil chase for the hobby and retail versions, but Artbox didn't do that for subsequent sets.

In the midst of all of the HP3D excitement, Artbox has released new info about the OOTP set!  The first post of this thread has been updated. :D

Does anyone have any info on what foil cards there will be? will there be a R1-R6 set like HP3D or R1-R9 like the other releases?

There will be the usual 9 card foil set and 4 card boxtopper set that we usually see with the sets for the films. The ship date is next Friday July 13th.
