I tried to buy on ebay yesterday, all sorts of problems.. 1.. Was told I wasn't registered (I am) 2. Was told to register (I did, then was told I already had an account)3. Tried to complain, entered my email address, and was told the entries didn't match.. (THEY DID) Has anyone had the same problem, is the ebay site down? HELP Catrina :o= : Re: Ebay problems : kbmum February 25, 2007, 06:51:46 PM Which eBay are you using -- US, UK, Australia? I didn't see any notices on the US site about problems yesterday, but that doesn't mean they didn't happen.
Here's the link to eBay Live Help in the US: http://pages.ebay.com/help/basics/n-livehelp.html : Re: Ebay problems : catrina February 25, 2007, 08:09:08 PM :ebay: Sorry, should have mentioned that its the UK one.. Can't even find an email link for them.. Just go round in circles.. Catrina : Re: Ebay problems : Nienna February 25, 2007, 10:27:56 PM Hi Catrina - welcome to the Yak Shack!! ;D
Don't know if this is any help .. http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/newtoebay/sign-in-trouble.html I have a feeling that the Live Help function is only available to US users, whenever I've had to contact Ebay I've used their 'Contact Us' facility (I'm in the UK too). Are you able to login at all to your account? Have a go at clearing out temporary internet cache and wiping the cookies from your temporary internet folder. The article also mentions enabling cookies to allow their pages to function correctly and I thought this looked useful: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/newtoebay/help-with-cookies.html I've just got this message when I tried to login to my a/c: The browser you are using is rejecting cookies. Great! ::) But ... I've successfully logged in using the identical ID & password to the ebay.com site ;) I've just tried logging in again on the co.uk site and managed it. ::) There's nothing posted about any technical issues either, so I've no idea why you're having so much trouble. Anyway, give it another go and let us know how you get on! :) : Re: Ebay problems : catrina February 25, 2007, 10:48:07 PM >:( >:() :ebay:
Tried all that.. still can't.. End up being asked to register and then being told I've already got an account.. Try to access it from that page, and I dont exist again. #~**#$+.. >:() >:() Catrina : Re: Ebay problems : kbmum February 25, 2007, 10:58:22 PM I've just got this message when I tried to login to my a/c: The browser you are using is rejecting cookies. The same thing just happened to me on the US site! >:() I closed my browser and started over again, and then was able to get into My eBay. The problem definitely lies with eBay. : Re: Ebay problems : Nienna February 25, 2007, 11:09:17 PM Rats!! >:( >:()
I know this might sound a daft question Catrina, but have you responded to ANY spoof/phishing emails claiming to be either from Paypal or ebay? I had a very good one earlier in the week claiming I was way overdue for paying for an item and was about to receive a strike against my name - all untrue! The fact it was targeted to an account I rarely use made me suspicious of it for starters and I forwarded it straight to ebay for them to take care of. The odd thing was I didn't receive any kind of ebay support notification telling me they were investigating it which is what normally happens ... all very strange. Have you logged in to your Paypal account and if so, is everything okay there? Unfortunately I don't have a contact phone number for ebay, so you could ring them and find out what's going on. You might have to try the live help link Cindy posted to see if they can sort it out for you. :o= Other than that I don't know what else to suggest you try - it could be that your ISP is doing some kind of maintenance work or the ebay site isn't working properly in the area where you live ... not very comforting thoughts I'm afraid ... :-\ Whenever my ISP - ntl now virginmedia - ever did their maintenance work, more often than not it would make accessing any of my usual haunts nigh on impossible till they'd finished. :( Ahhhhhh it sounds like ebay are tinkering with the site again if Cindy is having problems logging on in the US!! >:() Catrina - seems you are not alone .... ;) : Re: Ebay problems : catrina February 26, 2007, 12:19:32 AM :ebay: :ebay: :ebay: :-X >:( >:() >:()
They were doing maintenance work Thurs 22 Feb & Fri 23rd.. Whatever they've done they've done it wrong. Catrina : Re: Ebay problems : Nienna February 26, 2007, 12:34:10 AM :(
Could be a little while till you're able to login then, or at least until they fiddle about with the site again to try and correct what they've done last week. :( >:() : Re: Ebay problems : tialessa February 26, 2007, 09:55:32 PM When I've had problems with the US site I've logged into the Canada or UK site & been able to purchase or bid...
: Re: Ebay problems : HPfamily June 20, 2007, 10:16:07 PM Has anyone had this happen to them? I've noticed it happening for quite a while now!!
Why is it that sometimes, when I receive feedback, my feedback score doesn't change? I have received 3 feedbacks within the last 24 hours and my score hasn't changed! ??? : Re: Ebay problems : m.o.b. June 20, 2007, 10:47:13 PM If I remember correctly this has been happening for a while, I think e-Bay now delays updating the feedback scores by 24 hours after being added.
: Re: Ebay problems : kbmum June 20, 2007, 11:59:01 PM Have any of the buyers left feedback for previous transactions? If so, their additional positives won't change your feedback score. Otherwise, yes, it takes some time for the score to be updated.

Are you saying that whenever I buy from...lets say Anna...my score will never go up because she has left feedback....months ago? : Re: Ebay problems : tialessa June 22, 2007, 11:45:50 PM What do you mean? Like winning multiple cards from one seller at the same time? Or like seperate times...? Yup, that's what she's saying.... The feedback score (ex. 125) indicates the number of individuals who've left feedback. If you look on the feedback page it'll show you another total on there (ex. 253) which indicates total number of comments left. Are you saying that whenever I buy from...lets say Anna...my score will never go up because she has left feedback....months ago? : Re: Ebay problems : allender June 23, 2007, 12:20:37 PM My feedback score doesn't change very quickly any more, because I have a hard time finding somebody new to buy something from. ;)
: Re: Ebay problems : Roz June 23, 2007, 04:00:24 PM Me too, both for selling and buying, I'm going round the same circuits... for selling it's always nice to deal with familiar faces, but it would be nice if my feedback score would move too
