: POA Promo Cards : greenpaw August 03, 2004, 09:52:28 AM Hi all.
I'm interseted in info on the promo sets as the new update promos are beginning to appear-green/blue/magenta with a twinge of pink in the upper left corner variant (just kidding on the last one ;)). How many were there for their original POA release and what is the rarest/their approximate value? Never been a promo collector as there seems to be so many! Thanks gp : Re:POA Promo Cards : Roz August 03, 2004, 01:29:38 PM Well up until about 2 weeks ago this was a master set of promos - coetesy of Gimli
(http://img77.photobucket.com/albums/v235/Roz_qmw/all-promos.jpg) So there are silver (cheapest) then the cards inc set (no foil, about the same price as the silver but rarer) Red (worth about $50-$70 Gold (apparently worth $90 but recently went for $45 - sorry Gimil, I was going to bid... but then I spent my money before the auction ended) Green and Blue Which are worth about $200 a piece (per set) maybe slightly more. Exactly - that's why I only have the silver and cards inc sets!!! Then a couple of weeks ago the san diego comic con binder came out - including a new base set (with holofoil stamping) which included a promo set in this new foil - so that makes another set. So in all 7 sets of 5 cards... hooray for LOTR which had one set of 3 cards (for most sets at least). : Re:POA Promo Cards : mcgonagall August 03, 2004, 01:50:00 PM I am still trying to find no.5 in silver
: Re:POA Promo Cards : chico August 16, 2004, 09:27:19 AM The current 5 card promo sets are now as follows:
Cards Inc. (non-foil) UK Silver (foil) US Red (foil) US Gold (foil) US Blue (foil) US Green (foil) US Holofoil (from Comic-con binder/tin set) I only need Silver and Gold. I think that the holofoil are the best looking. : Re:POA Promo Cards : Roz August 16, 2004, 01:47:19 PM I think the red are pretty nice myself!
They are lovely promo sets but collecting JUST the promos for a set shouldn't be this expensive! Ahh well :) : Re:POA Promo Cards : chico August 26, 2004, 08:47:07 AM I see that you (Roz aka MtY) are bidding on a complete set of the coloured 5-card promo's.....Goodluck (I shall just watch) I lost an auction like this @ almost $600US.....here's hoping it doesn't go that high 8)
: Re:POA Promo Cards : Roz August 27, 2004, 06:30:16 PM Thanks Chico!
We won! Everyone frown at Sonarghost for outbidding me >:( ;D but we made a comeback! Yahay! so I will have a spare set of red soon if anyone wants ! :D : Re:POA Promo Cards : chico August 27, 2004, 09:39:21 PM Congratulations MaktheYak (Roz and Mark)
I paid somewhat more than your winning bid for my promo set (over 6 auctions) I think that you got a real good deal.... Sonarghost, what can I say....very little (with a big frown on my face) I did not bid.......but I thought that the winning bid would be higher : Re:POA Promo Cards : Roz August 27, 2004, 10:05:35 PM Roz bid but Mark will coo - actually I haven't told Mark we won them yet - let's see how long it takes him to notice! ;D
LOL there's no problem with sonarghost bidding because it looks like that dealer had a bid in with auctionsniper so his bid didn't make a difference to tne ending price, so no worries there! Hooray, a full set of promos. I'll take a good pic when I get them as the pic we have of the promos in the "online master set" thread look a little like a "big foot"or a "elvis" picture, a tad blurred and you could wonder whether it was a fake!!! ;) Right... now, the original set is done... onto the update promos... I am not sure but I think they are a tad high at the moment as some promos are bound to be given out as case incentives don't you think? : Re:POA Promo Cards : ferdinand_the_yak August 28, 2004, 09:05:54 PM I was wondering why the P5 promo in the PoA Cards Inc set is rarer than the others? Surely if you were producing promo 'sets', you would make (approx) equal numbers of each?
Been bugging me for a while :) : Re:POA Promo Cards : Roz August 29, 2004, 02:08:58 AM And if you asked me yesterday I could have got you an answer today as I had a good chat with Darren "Cards Inc" today!
Argh! I'll ask though! |
