Just saw this one tonight and I highly recommend it to all!   :)  I suggest you watch the first movie The Bourne Identity if you did not see it because the movie picks up where the last left off.  Same cast and Karl Urban of Eomer fame plays a bad guy hit man in this one!!  

Excellent story and action throughout.  You won't be disappointed.   :)

i knew i missed one great movie!! i should watch it soon!! I watched the first one on the plane to singapore and i loved that!

when's the dvd coming out? did the bourne identity extended version have that much of a difference?

You watched it on a plane  :o the camera style was so shakey I felt that I had motion sickness most of the way through the film (even though I am not prone to motion sickness, unless caught in hurricanes on boats! Not an experience I ever hope to repeat).

I'd have felt quite ill had I not seen it on dry land!

thanks for the advice..though i think the shakiness was the air turbulence  ;D . i would take dramamine before i watch supremacy then...  :-X

Has anyone read the books?

Mark was looking at them in our lunchbreak today in Borders (known here as "the American bookstore" - I think it's the only Borders in the UK). Anyway, anyone know if they are any good?

Was the trip to Singapore business or pleasure?  I visited there back in 1987.  Military history especially World War II is a passion of mine and I visited many of the defenses and areas of interest from that time period.

Yea The Bourne Supremacy is very good.  I have not seen the Extended Edition but I think it has an alternate ending included and some additional footage.

the trip to singapore was for pleasure. i attended the lotr exhibit while it was there. i was in the philippines and i thought a sidetrip there would cost the same as going to boston. and i was able to go on two separate days! yummy food too!!

Well that sounded like a great trip - The Philippines & Singapore & The LOTR's Exhibition!  Are people over there as passionate about the LOTR's as we are here or was it just curiosity?

i think at the exhibitin singapore, there were genuine fans but more were there out of curiosity. i wonder how many flew in from japan and other countries as it was the only asian exhibit.
the exhibits were not packed at all and i spent several hours there both days watching the clips on a movie screen as well as poring thru the exhibits again and again. i did go to the  scale demo and got my photo taken. the store was interesting there were some cool stuff being sold, toys, some statues, some unavailable here.

i even got a coffee mug which show'sthe ring'sdesign circumferentially once you pour hot liquid in it. cool!-i mean, HOT!

Border's is a decent book store.  They have several different sizes to them depending on the size of the city the store is located in.  I have not read the books but if they are anything like the movie it should be a good read.

Speaking of a great read has anyone read these two books by Dan Brown - The Da Vinci Code and his first book - Angels & Demons which is even better than The Code?  I could not put these books down they are so good and the author is from my home State of New Hampshire!!  


Ed - the store there sounds far superior to what was offered in Boston!!  Terrible selection!  I would bet you did have a good number of fans from Japan and all of Asia attend because it was the only showing.    That scaling photo is cool.  I did it as well.   :)

I am planning to read the Da Vinci code and its sequel. I will also try Angels and demons now that you have recommended it! :)

yes, those books are awesome!! thrilling to say the least! exp. angels and demons!!

the da vinci code is being movie bound with Ron Howard (apollo 13) directing and tom cruise/russell crowe (?) for the lead.

FTY - read Angels & Demons first if you can.  In the Code there are references to what the character did in this book so it is awsome to know what happened.  I personally think Angels & Demons story is outstanding so much so you will not want to put the book down.  Now this is one book that I want to see turned into a movie!


Ed - I wish it was Angels & Demons they were making first but if they follow the storyline of The Code I will be happy.  Either of the actors would be cool as Robert Langdon.  

hi! without sounding redundant, i agree!! they dont need to make too many modifications to either stories, its just written perfect for a movie!

and fty, do take Ed's advice, read angels and demons first and be prepared for one sleepless night.

Right... its off to the bookstore for me tomorrow! I have not read for enjoyment for a long time - I do believe my HP books and LOTR book are gathering what seems like a record amount of dust - the university readings I have to do are taking the enjoyment out of reading for me, evil things they are >:( I've always been a enthusiastic reader, but ahve been going through a drought lately :'(

Not yet :( I have had assignments coming out of both ears. I have my mid-session break next week where i plan to catch up on some work, but hopefully I can take a day out to read it then. I will let you know what I think of it then!

Just put down the Da Vinci Code - I did a 2 day reading session over the weekend and managed to read both Angels and Demons and the DV code.

Nah... doesn't do them justice at all. They are spectacular - brilliantly written, engaging and edge-of-your-seat thrilling. I had to literally force myself to not desparately flick ahead to find out what was going to happen :) Consider me a permanent Dan Brown fan. Now I have 'Digital Fortress' on my shelf and am getting 'Deception Point' soon as well. Does anyone know any more he has written?

I have to say I've never felt the urge to flick ahead in a book to see what happens... it's like fast forwarding through a film to se the ending! It kind of defeats the point of reading/watching it, I reckon. I didn't even flick ahead to see who died in HP: OOTP... that's willpower ;)

I have never done it either :) It would defeat the purpose of reading the story - the whole unravelling of the plot is the magic of a (well written) book. It was just so good that I was tempted... but resisted ;)

My not as obsessed with HP friend did just that - flip to the end and found out who died. Hmph. Did not talk to her for a week ;)

You did? I'm shocked and appalled... I didn't realise that!

I didn't have to skip to the back of the book.  I was foolishly reading posts on an HP newsgroup when rumors about the book were running rampant.  Someone who got a copy of the book a few days before the release posted who died.  I was furious, and promised myself that I would stay off the groups when the next book was ready to be released.

Actually not for HP but I have done it ;) you were all being so whiter than white!!!! Someone had to be human on here...

Actually Mark, my Mum almost always reads the end of the book first

I was very happy to read your posts that you read both of Dan Brown's books - The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons!!  I knew you would enjoy them but not to the point of purchasing Dan's other works!  Please let me know how you like his other books as I have not read them yet.  Thanks.   :)

Wow this book is still amazing!

My current favourite "light relief" line is:

"Perhaps RObert told you I schooled just down the road at Oxford... of course I also applied to Harvard as my safety school"  ;D

Not that I condone the practice of attending Oxford but at least it's the right side of the pond :P

There is a better one down the track I don't think you have got there yet though ;)

I LOVE IT

If there is one thing I would critisize it would be th ease of the codes, the rearranging of fibonnachi was ok but I am on the first page of chapter 71 where they show you the "semitic" writing and the first thing I have done is to look at it in the mirror ;D I really want to solve as much as i canbefore they do.

I confess that I didn't guess that hisbank code would be the normal fibonacci sequence though and i should have done... why would he want to rearrange it to what he had used earlier??!!

My friend posed this dilemmna to me - he asked me to say one because he only had time to read one! The thing is, I am lending my copies to him, so I will tell him to read both or I won't lend them to him
