: Re: Pear Tree Leaves #18 Up for Auction : Tower January 09, 2007, 04:53:24 AM Crazy, but $1500 is "cheap". :P Almost everyone paid more, up to $2500 yet. And i'm sure this card in this auction will be sold, probably for more than the starting bid. Maybe a unique chance ...
: Re: Pear Tree Leaves #18 Up for Auction : beatles99 January 09, 2007, 05:12:01 AM Well Thomas..... my thinking (which isn't always straight any how) is that the Trophy cards that were being sold by Quite Bizarre haven't sold for what he was asking for them $1800 to $1900, and they are only a 31 print and also Tomunique has a Ceddy wand card for only $499.00 and even that has been relisted a couple of times...man there was a time I would have tripped over myself to bid on a Ceddy Wand for $499.....so under your logic which you stated in another thread, is that there is only so many people that would shell out that kind of dosh for just one card.........and by the list of the Pear Tree Owners, most of those buyers already have one....unless they want 2 ??????

I'm sure, nobody wants two of them, makes no sense for me. But how can i explain my thoughts? It's true, there won't be many people with such deep pockets, although i have to say, i was wrong with the Trophy prices i expected, they were much higher than i thought. But this card is more special, it's the first ultra rare card of all, the beginning of Potter cards. All can happen, it can stay far below of $2000, because the known collectors are owners already, but only 2 more people can be enough that it goes much higher. Time will tell ... ::) : Re: Pear Tree Leaves #18 Up for Auction : HPfamily January 09, 2007, 05:58:51 AM Crazy, but $1500 is "cheap". :P Almost everyone paid more, up to $2500 yet. I'm going to have to agree with Thomas on this one! :-\ I think it's a reasonable starting bid... This will be very interesting to see where it goes since there hasn't been one on ebay for a long time! : Re: Pear Tree Leaves #18 Up for Auction : Nienna January 10, 2007, 06:05:22 AM Good Luck Mo!! ;) ;D
Don't rule out QB in the bidding - I reckon there's every chance they'll join in nearer the end, (they appear to be attempting to buy up all the variant COS cards on ebay just now to re-sell later, like they did with the Trophy cards) so this super-rare card must be high on their hit-list! :-\ : Re: Pear Tree Leaves #18 Up for Auction : beatles99 January 10, 2007, 06:40:52 AM Yea I have been watching them Miss J.......The only problem about this card is even if they win it at $1500 , what would the resell it for....again they purchased the trophy cards at such a high price that their markup resell is now too high...what would they resell this one for $2500..maybe but I think it will go pretty high in a few days anyhow...so then you would still have to figure in their markup asking price from the final bidding sale
