: stories from san diego panel part 1

thought i would share with you guys some stories from billy boyd at the comic-con panel.

question from the audience:

you and dom are known for making fun of other cast members. did anyone play a joke on you and what was the best one?

answer:

well, let me think... oh i remember now...this was the day that we were supposed to shoot the first treebeard scene, where i grab hisnose and fall ofthe tree...we were done shooting that day and we had to go to twizel and dom and i said that oh, we'd drive up; its a 5 hour drive you know, and so they handed us our scripts...

i looked at the papers and dom looked too and we looked at each other asking, is this for real?...no, they're just playing a joke but the scripts look real; you know we get rewrites every day and they just gave it to us for the next day...so i thought, it must be real, security was real tight with the scripts and they had our names stamped on it. the entire 5 hour drive to twizel we were wondering...until the day after ...

the script called for me and dom climbing up treebeard and then falling off, all the branches hitting me and tearing most of our clothes off... and we fall in a heap on top of each other on the ground. i look into dom's eyes and the line goes..." i'm feeling cold...hold me..." ;D ;D

one of the last questions asked was how the cast had supported the actors even when it wasnt called for. billy relates this funny incident.

you know, that wedding at the end of the third movie? well there wasnt anyone there to cheer for them and so our support for sean so viggo and i decided to go to cheer behind the camera so that is viggo and i that you hear clapping and yelling...well they took like 4 takes of that scene... so the first take, viggo and i go," yeah sean" and we clap and we cheer, and the second take and the thirdtake and the fourth take while we were applauding, viggo suddenly grabs my head and kisses me full in the mouth (to the gasp and laughter of the crowd).... well, i felt a little bit nauseous (using his fingers), a little confused (with that quizzical look on his face)... and a little bit horny...

david and rick and the rest of the panel chide him, surprised and he remarks quietly, gesturing with his hands,"i am now pushing that thought to the back of my mind..."

Great stories! Billy sounds like a riot - I couldn't stop laughing for ages thinking about that 'script change' ;D As for the Viggo kiss... lets say the air got rather hot in here... wish I could do some teleporting and swap places with Billy for a short time ;)

Hey Ed:

Was there any talk at Comic Con about Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema doing The Hobbit?   :)
