Well this baby went for $2,102.77 and the lucky person who made the purchase was PJ1216a from the UK!  The question is now will PJ make a bid for the others if and when they appear on ebay?   ;)

Yeow - I just saw today that our boy shelled out $911 big ones for a color Joe Corroney Aragorn sketch card!!   :P   This bubba must have a printing press in their basement!   ;)

And the saga of PJ1216a continues!   ::)   Our hero just paid out $1,175.99 for a 3 sketch card pannel of Elrond looking upon The Fellowship by Ray Dillon!  Beautiful sketch card set!   :)

Someone said on another forum that people only spend this kind of money on cards because they want other people to know they can afford it :rofl: how ridiculous! If this PJ guy was all over the forum's showing off about it I'd probably think the same... but has it occurred to this other forum that people might just want to buy things because they like them? :P

Well put Roz, to be fair if I was a millionaire I would want all of the best cards, he has won my favorite the vanderselt Witchking. If I was a millionaire though thinking about it I would probably just buy loads of boxes as this in my opinion is much more fulfilling than winning an auction.

Yeah, I agree with Rich...there have been times when I have randomly thought how cool it would be to win the lottery because I could buy every single set I have ever wanted...isn't that sick?

I must have missed the Elrond sketch.  I have a habit of skimming over the cards that are out of my reach.  That way I won't covet what I can't have. ::)

A millionaire would just buy the whole print run of each set she wanted. Keep the cards she liked, then sell the rest to us.   :-X

There is currently a roll over on the Euro lottery and the jackpot is approx one hundred and twenty five million pounds.  I have dreamt about doing exactly what you said John - just buy all the cases and pass them onto to people I know who love collecting cards  :-*     Bliss  ;D

I was following the auction for the Kayanan Aragorn part of the 6 card set and saw that it sold with a Buy It Now for $3,000.00.  The Seller was Tangent.Oz and the Buyer was bleysofamber.  Wow - that is some serious cash and it's just my personal opinion but I would have rather seen that money go to an Artist rather than to a Dealer.   :P   

She's not a dealer - just a collector AFAIK.  She actually posted over on Card Talk debating whether to keep the card or sell it.  By selling it she paid for her cases & everything she pulled is essentially "free".

I don't know what I would have done in her case...

I saw that she has an ebay business called Jen's Non-Sport Trading Cards so that is why I called her a Dealer.  She has been in business for over 7 years selling.  I would not have sold the Aragorn for any price as he is my favorite character.  Yea I am sure she is a happy camper after selling that card for the amount she did!   ::)
