Yes I got excited one time, they said they had a date for Torchwood, the date was the autumn, now call me weird (ok don't) but I have never actually called autumn a date. Someone asks you when your birthday is you say autumn ::) (Winter in my case ;) )

A post on the Unitnews site gives the date as 22nd October

I have seen this trailer a few times now and am still struck in amazement and facial spasms when I see the level they have gone with this show,it looks visualy stunning lets just hope the story lines are good aswell!!!

I saw it on the BBC3 website, So I'm gonna trust it.

But it's better to be watching an hour early than miss all the first ep and part of the second, That happened to me with Supernatural and I'm only now waiting to receive the series box set without having seen a single episode!

Yeah maybe the changed it I have seen it advertised for 9pm now. I hope I am not going to be dissapointed they have been advertising it a lot which sometimes isn't a good sign. And they say its going to be more adult with sex, but I hope not too much sex and not enough plot which I am very worried about.

He was fighting with Sycrax and the Sycrax cut his hand off in the fight but luckily because he had just regenerated he grew a new one.

So Jack is 'invinceable' so-to-speak. Very interesting. Although that doesn't explain a great deal. I think we last saw him on the TV space station, just left there (for dead). I wonder how he got back to earth, and whether we'll find that out. It sounds like it's going to interweave a little with Dr Who series 3 since Jack is thought to be in there a bit ;D

I really enjoyed it. I'm not sure ep 2 should have been in front of the watershed... weird but cool!

From what I read somewhere maybe wiki I think. Jack died on the game station but was brought back to life by something can't think what. Hang on here's what the wiki says.

"Jack organised the defence of the Game Station against the Daleks in The Parting of the Ways to give the Doctor enough time to construct a Delta Wave projector. With the rest of his volunteer squad killed, Jack was the last to be exterminated, facing down the Dalek guns with quiet defiance rather than the traditional screaming deaths of Dalek victims. Although Rose brought him back to life while she was suffused with the power of the time vortex, neither the Doctor nor Rose (whose memory was affected) seemed aware of his resurrection and left the Game Station in the TARDIS, leaving Jack behind.

In the Children in Need mini-episode, Rose suggests to the recently-regenerated Tenth Doctor they go back for Jack. The Doctor, in turn, replies that Jack is busy "rebuilding the Earth". How much either knows about Jack's status is unclear; the Doctor's comment suggests that he either knows (or wants Rose to believe) that Jack survived, while Rose was not present when Jack died."

Yes he supposed to be back in series three.

What I enjoyed was that although it was a 'spin off' and there were connections, it wasn't just playing on the Dr Who name the whole time, there was no attempt at time travel (after all, we know nothing about Jack, but I daresay he's not a timelord - principally 'our' doctor is the last one, and had Jack been one the Dr would have recognised it I'm sure), there was no name dropping, just a few connections - the rift in Cardiff, the hand (good one Dawn), obviously the whole concept of Torchwood that they'd already build up inside Dr Who proper.

You aren't going to believe it but there is already a fairly comprehensive Wiki page for the first Ep... that will only grow though - 2 is pretty small at the mo

Yes talking of the rift do you realise that Gwen was the maid who died in that rift in series one? Yes it could be watched separately. The only thing is because we watch Dr Who we know more about Jack that his colleagues do.

Interesting, they are on the ball. I didn't realise the invisible paving stone thingy was where the TARDIS landed.

I think maybe they've watched Dr Who a couple more times than us ;) I didn't pick up on it being the place where the Tardis landed either, although we should have recognised the scene ::)

Have you seen what they said about the hand?

In episode two, Day One, Captain Jack proves to be quite protective of the hand, as it is the only connection to the Doctor he has left. I picked up on the paving slab being where the TARDIS was but I had no idea about the hand (I am another one who needs to re-watch the first series).  And I had completely forgotten about Rose resurrecting Jack until a colleague at work explained it today.

All in all I think this is going to be one not to miss  ;D ;D ;D

See we all remeber different bits. Yeah I didn't remember the resurrection either until I read it on wiki.

What did everyone think of last nights one. I thought it was great. Just one question when Gwen saw herself did she say that Owen had killed him or he wanted to kill him?

I saw it (what a surprise  ;) ).  I thought future Gwen just said that Owen had the knife but I will listen more carefully on the next viewing tonight  ;D

That was an other brilliant Torchwood episode. I always though Ianto was a bit quite and a bit hard done by. But hiding a cyberperson in Torchwood itself is not a good plan.

Missed this episode have to wait now for the repeat  >:() was in Dartford watching 'Hayseed Dixie' bought the tickets before 'Torchwood' started, so was unable to avoid the clash  :-\  Was it as good as the rest has been???  I am totaly hooked on it as is Mrs Orc  :rofl:

It must have been me but I wasn't that keen on this episode.  I can't believe I am going to say this but is Jack going to play tonsil hockey with various people every episode  ::).  And they need to decide on peoples characters - Gwen has gone from being devastated that someone committed suicide on her knife to a Rambo shooting machine (in the space of one episode) and Jack .....  :-\.  Is he a goodie or a baddie?  I don't mind a bit of ambiguity but at the moment he is border line schizophrenic.

Maybe, did he snog anybody last week? I think maybe its becuase they were all shooting when they killed Lisa in the pizza girls body. I'm not sure on Jack generally he is a goody but they have to leave you wondering, the only reason he threatened to kill Ianto was to save them all and make him go and finish what he had started. I did like the episode personally, I always knew Ianton was a bit on the quite side :-\

Well just watched it and really enjoyed it except for the bit where the cyber pin up has a punch up with the prehistoric budgie that was funny  :rofl: :rofl:  The basic premise was excellent and Ianto was played brilliantly  ;D
Looking forward to the next instalment with relish  ;D

I watched the pilot episode of this and loved it but have missed a few now i think are they going to be repeated anyone know i'm getting withdrawl symptons.

Also hoping someone gets me the remote control replica of K-9 it looks awesome and has so many features.
A great toy for a kid and a collector like me who is 30 in Feb.

I thought it was funny that the remote control K-9 was larger than a Yorkshire Terrier.
I saw a toy like this in a toy shop window when I was about 6 and never was able to get it then that's why I'm going to try my hardest to get this one as it could become quite a collector's item.

I just didn't get who the fairies were.  Jack said they were once children protecting the Lost Lands but where are the Lost Lands (I know lost  :rofl:).  And are the children selected randomly from unhappy homes or are they genetically different.  Oh some many questions, so few answers  ::)

Yes, that wasn't explained! But in some ways we could understand that they could see the world at different times (e.g. when her back garden verged on the edge of a sacred forest etc).

They did have the immaturity and cruelty of children. I know that sounds odd, but without understanding why we need human decency the child just seemed to act in any way which pleased it ::)

Losing Jack's old love was just awful :(


I think that they were chosen quite early on. It's just conjecture of course, but I think the cause of some of the unhappiness in her childhood home was her weirdness. She looked a sweet girl (so I mean no harm to the actress) but we don't know what drove away her real father... (I thought that the comment her step father made about 'no wonder he left' (or something) was just so outrageously mean.

Dawn, perhaps true ugliness takes time ;) and don't forget that they have the ability to change their appearance from flittering miniature child fairies to snarling beasts when they wanted to... (hence the piccy at the end). I suppose the point they were trying to make there was that they were timeless... but it was all just a bit weird....

Well it was rather gorey last night and made me have nightmares but never mind. I'm not impressed with Gwen going off with Owen ok so he knows what its like to be in Torchwood, why not talking about it rather than just b**king each other ::)

I have been a bit busy lately and when I managed to turn on for one ep of Torchwood the signal was lousy (goodness knows how we'll cope when analogue is turned off!!) - anyway, I've finally caught up with Torchwood.

It's getting rather thought-provoking and upsetting really. I am enjoying it and it's interesting, but it's really setting me on edge!

Yeah I thought the last one was really good with the bring back of Susie, but what about the poor bloke in the cells?

I would apologise for the double post but this really is essential.

What on earth were they thinking last night  :o.  First they nicked the story from Dr Who (the one with the club and paving slab  :rofl: ) which made an OK sort of episode.  But then they stick on an ending that made the Fallon alien abduction look plausible.  I do like this series but I am seriously starting to wonder why  ::)

I didn't think it was the same as love and monsters I mean there was no monster. Although I did think he was like Elton. We got to see the Drs hand again.

Realy annoying thing is I have missed 2 episodes on the trot now  >:() and will be missing next sundays as well (Off to Germany for the Xmas Markets  ;D) hopefuly unless something goes horribly wrong I should at least catch up with this episode shortly  ;D

OK so who watched the final 2 episodes of the series tonight??? and of course the snog count has gone way up LOL  So has Capt Jack run off with the Dr or is it a evil plot in the making ?
I realy enjoyed both episodes, but thought the dance scene was daft, no serving and unrealistic.  Other than this great all round entertainment  ;D  Mrs Orc say's shame Ianto did not kill Owain  :rofl:

I like the ending, although couldn't we have just seen the Doctor briefly or at the very least the TARDIS.

Fully agree with you on that Dawn  ;D  not only was it silly it was unreal, I could not ever envisage a serving officer of that period behaving in that fashion in front of his men, these were guy's he would be expected to lead into combat LOL sorry it would just not have happend.

I was on Amazon last night as you do, and noticed that they have got Torchwood novels thought some of you guys might be interested and it might fill in the hole left by torchwood.
