: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : kbmum October 01, 2006, 02:35:37 AM If anyone is interested in taking the second round of WOMBATs, it's available on JK's website. You have to click on the eraser on the home page to get to the right page, and of course, there are things you'll have to do before you can sit the exam. Good luck! :)

: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Bitsy October 04, 2006, 05:15:19 AM How people actually work it out is a mystery to me ;D Seriously! I wonder how long it takes them to figure out the sequence. :-\ : Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : kbmum October 04, 2006, 07:01:35 PM The office door has the "do not disturb" sign again, so the test is now closed.
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Sharon October 05, 2006, 02:34:57 AM Since the exam is over would anyone have any objections if we started dissecting the questions (and hopefully the answers) ;D. It is just this one seemed a lot more like guess work and opinion and I just wondered what everyone else put ie did anyone else think there were no male Veela :-\
Oh and if you click on the old WOMBAT card (top leftish) and enter your code it says the paper is being marked. : Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Morningangel-Iola October 06, 2006, 03:40:36 AM Well mines in the post :o=
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Mike October 06, 2006, 04:07:41 AM Mine is too so we should be getting them soon!
I know there is another thread for this but what was your last grade? Mine was "Acceptable" : Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Morningangel-Iola October 06, 2006, 04:28:23 AM I do beleive mine was outstanding ;D Although I doubt it will be this time :-\

I didn't think there were any Male Veela either. :-\ I was hung up, for some reason, on the question about Muggle borns. Any guesses. My results are in the post, by the way. I'm actually nervous! :D : Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Mike October 06, 2006, 11:50:48 PM The results have been delivered!
I checked mine and I got "Exceeds Expectations" ;D : Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : kbmum October 07, 2006, 12:42:56 AM I also received "exceeds expectations." :)
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Morningangel-Iola October 07, 2006, 01:51:24 AM I got Outstanding again! :o
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Bitsy October 07, 2006, 04:48:24 AM Exceeds Expectations! :D
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : blackcat20 October 07, 2006, 09:41:46 AM Ive left my student number at uni, so ill have to wait till monday to have a look...
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Sharon October 08, 2006, 04:11:07 AM I'm like Mike, I started off as Acceptable but got Exceeds Expectations this time ;D ;D
was hung up, for some reason, on the question about Muggle borns. Any guesses. Was that the one that asked if Muggles could do magic, given a wand etc? If it was I said no they couldn't. What did you think was the most worrying thing showing up at St Mungo's? I said werewolf bites. Also what did you want with you in case of emergencies? I had a broom, invisibility cloak and time turner but I was a bit iffy about the time turner :-\ : Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Morningangel-Iola October 08, 2006, 04:23:24 AM I said muggles couldn't do spells even with wands, because after all they are muggles. I said werewolf bites I think. I said a cauldron and potions equipment and stuff.
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Sharon October 08, 2006, 04:26:28 AM Mmmmm I was tempted by the potions equipment but then I would have needed the cauldron and I really wanted the broom and cloak.  If my work colleagues read this they would think I had totally cracked
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Bitsy October 08, 2006, 05:03:44 AM I never took the first one. :'( I missed it by, like, a day.
I'm like Mike, I started off as Acceptable but got Exceeds Expectations this time ;D ;D was hung up, for some reason, on the question about Muggle borns. Any guesses. Was that the one that asked if Muggles could do magic, given a wand etc? If it was I said no they couldn't. What did you think was the most worrying thing showing up at St Mungo's? I said werewolf bites. Also what did you want with you in case of emergencies? I had a broom, invisibility cloak and time turner but I was a bit iffy about the time turner :-\ I think I said that Muggles could do "simple magic" if given a wand and spellbook. I also said Werewolf bites on the St. Mungo's question. I think on the "in case of emergencies" question, I said broom; invisibility cloak; darkness powder; and something else...I don't think I said Time Turner because they were all destroyed at the end of book five and I didn't say potion equipment because I thought that if I was in danger, I wouldn't have time to brew something up...I'd need something that could work fast. I guess I thought the question meant immediate danger. :-\ The Muggle question I was hung up on had an answer that said Muggle borns have a wizard somewhere in their ancestry, which I don't think was right, but I can't remember the question or the other answers. :-\ : Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Morningangel-Iola October 08, 2006, 05:06:28 AM Yes I was tempted that they had wizard ancestry but I don't think that is the line Jk takes.
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Sharon October 09, 2006, 12:50:06 AM I know the one you mean now. Well I said that all Muggle born Wizards did have a bit of magic in their ancestry simply because JKR has said that all Wizards have a bit of Muggle in their backgrounds ie no true pure bloods exist any more. Oh I wish they would publish an answers list :o=
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : blackcat20 October 09, 2006, 05:28:28 AM I got exceeds expectations...not suprising given i guessed every answer, and rushed through the test....
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Sharon October 10, 2006, 01:54:16 AM OK I definitely got the Muggle question wrong. In Chamber of Secrets JKR describes a Muggle as 'not a drop of magical blood in their veins'.
This one is really bugging me. Does anyone know what started the Goblin riots of 1612? Knowing my luck this would be my final question on Who Wants to be a Millionaire so I really need to know ;) : Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Morningangel-Iola October 10, 2006, 02:31:51 AM Can anyone remeber the options?
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : kbmum October 10, 2006, 02:40:47 AM I think one of the options was wizards not allowing goblins to carry wands. It would be nice if the exam and correct answers were posted on her site.
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Morningangel-Iola October 10, 2006, 03:01:55 AM Yeah, I don't think thats the one I went for.
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Bitsy October 10, 2006, 05:27:54 AM OK I definitely got the Muggle question wrong. In Chamber of Secrets JKR describes a Muggle as 'not a drop of magical blood in their veins'. This one is really bugging me. Does anyone know what started the Goblin riots of 1612? Knowing my luck this would be my final question on Who Wants to be a Millionaire so I really need to know ;) Here we go: Which (still unresolved) issue do most historians believe triggered the infamous goblin rebellion of 1612? a) Lack of goblin representation on the wizengamot b) Wizard attempts to enslave goblin and use them as houseelves c) Wizard refusal to grant goblins the right to carry a wand d) Attempts by wizards to regain control of Gringotts bank e) Series of brutal goblin slayings by wizard murderer Yardley Platt I think I put (a). The Muggle question is really bothering me as well, and I obviously missed it too. There was another Muggle born question (or maybe it was the same one) that had an answer like: Muggle born wizards do not fall ill to wizard illnesses (something like that). : Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Sharon October 11, 2006, 12:49:00 AM Hooray I found all the questions on Mugglenet ;D
http://www.mugglenet.com/jkrcom/jkrdooropening6.shtml Pity I still don't know the answers ::) I think I went for E with the Goblin question :-\ : Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Morningangel-Iola October 11, 2006, 01:24:48 AM I think I said A
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Sharon April 05, 2007, 12:51:17 AM Has anyone seen the final WOMBAT exam on the site? I have been keeping my eye out but don't know if I have just missed it :(
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : kbmum April 05, 2007, 02:12:43 AM I've been looking for it, too, but haven't seen it.
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Morningangel-Iola April 05, 2007, 04:13:34 AM Oh good I was panicing the last exam was out when I saw the posts. I'm worried as I got really good marks for the other two and don't want to mess it up on the last one ::)
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : kbmum April 05, 2007, 04:46:29 AM Perhaps JK has been a tad busy with things other than her website. ;)
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Nienna July 06, 2007, 01:06:29 AM The results of the third WOMBAT test have been delivered and mine was better than I hoped it would be ... I managed an Exceeds Expectations this time around and I was recommended to apply to The Ministry of Magic for a job - I'm dead chuffed!! *preens* ;) ;D ;D ;D
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Sharon July 07, 2007, 01:09:59 AM I managed an Acceptable which I am more than happy with ;D. Oh and Jackie, don't be jealous, but they recommended that I should apply for a job at Weasley Wizard Wheezes
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Morningangel-Iola July 09, 2007, 01:29:32 AM I can't believe it I only got Acceptable this time :(
: Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Sharon July 09, 2007, 01:36:56 AM I can't believe it I only got Acceptable this time :( You snob . I was expecting a 'T' - that was one hard test. Still we can now both apply for the same jobs ;D : Re: W.O.M.B.A.T. exam on JK website : Morningangel-Iola July 09, 2007, 01:46:46 AM Well I got Outstanding on my other two.
