LOL! Well you may wonder how I come across such great sites and I'll let you into my secret. http://www.b3ta.com. It's a very random site where people go on the message board and post funny pictures they have photoshopped, or they post links to cool websites. Every friday, those signed up to the newsletter get an email full of all the latest weird and wonderful happenings on the web. Some are not that tasteful, so you have to use your disgresion on what to click on (don't worry, all the links have descriptions), but most of it is a lot of very good, wacky fun!

Anyway do you have a favorite beer?  Do you like warm or cold brew?

We here only drink it cold and in fact there are several microbreweries in the area that make some great tasting beers.  We will sample them all when you visit here.   :)

Well I have to say I don't drink beer all that often - it's not my favourite drink, although I do enjoy a nice cool lager on a really hot summers day.

Normally when it comes to alcoholic drinks I prefer a JD and coke, or a vodka and coke/lemonade.

OK OK so they are womens drinks or whatever... I just like the taste and I don't care what anyone thinks. So there!  :P

I am not a big beer drinker either but I do like a few with my pizza and on a hot summer's day like you.

I like whiskey & coke and rum & coke as well.   :)

Glad to know that there are people who drink what they like and not what they 'should'. I get that from my male friends quite alot, how they won't drink particular drinks because they are 'chick drinks' (Oz slang for 'feminine' drinks) and I tell them why I can't understand why beer is any more masculine than a vodka and lemonade - because it tastes worse??? They both have the same effect and alcohol etc, so I'd drink the better tasting one any day!

Sorry to all the beer fans out there... but I can't stand the stuff :D

Here here - let's all be wimps together - I admit that when the lads go to the bar on a hot day and come back with a HUGE quantity of liquid I am jealous - but it tastes disgusting so I don't really envy them :P

I hear it's even MORE of a thing in Oz that men shouldn't drink anything except beer :)

Oh yeah... tell me about it! Beer would probably be the biggest drink here for guys hands down. I hear of 'horror stories' where people have gon overseas and fuond the beer so bad there that they try and get it sent from here! Now THATS obsession :-\

I had wheat beer in the Netherlands and I don't think that was chilled, - don't ask why I drank THAT  :-X

Yes Roz - warm beer is served in your Pubs.  I do not know why or for how long that has been happenning but I think at least since World War II and most likely before that.

FTY - Foster's Beer from Australia is popular here and it is sold in a huge can!  I have not tried it myself.

I will tell you all a funny story about beer and the Marine Corps.  When I was flying on Active Duty we would have a Squadron Beer Party 4 or so times a year.
We all liked Coors Beer from Colorado but it was not pasturized when it first came out so it was only available out West and in Colorado where it is brewed.  We used to make a "Beer Run" out to Colorado to get fresh Coors Beer.  We contacted the company and they met us at the airfield with a tanker truck full of fresh beer.  We had two 150 gallon underwing fuel tanks sanitized and would fill these up with the beer.  Then we would fly home at altitude and keep the beer cold until we landed back at our home base in South Carolina on the East Coast.  Those were some fun times!   :)

Sounds like the party to end all parties! Well we have Fosters here too and I do quite like it although I think I prefer Stella and Carling.

I have never heard of a beer served warm over here. If it was served warm to me or any of my friends I know it wouldn't take long for the barman to get it back again! Chilled beer is a must!

Well that's great news Mark!  I honestly was a bit worried when I come over to visit you that I would be drinking warm beer and did not want to offend anyone if I did not like it!!   ;)

You might get it in the fusty musty country pubs... but not in the New Forest and that's pretty rural!

What do they mean when someone orders a pint of bitter.  Is it a type of beer?

I'm not really too sure about that... I could be wrong but I don't think a bitter is like a lager. It has a fuller body and judging from the name is likely to be bitterer than normal beer! Possibly working its way towards being a Guinness (which I can't stand, by the way).

Guinness is very popular over here.  I know of two co-workers who will drink nothing but Guinness.   ::)

savage, Fosters is the 'iconic' beer here, however, the mos popular is a beer called VB (Victorias Bitter) I don't know if you get it over there.

I am not a collector of the costume cards as I prefer the autograph ones, however, I am considering getting an Elrond just because they look so good (and I won't get his auto card! :'(

Will look on ebay soon, as I am at home, away from my laptop and relying on a dinosaur of a desktop here - therefore it takes me forever to load anything and is not worth the effort. Strangely, it works quite well on this forum. How did we cope with internet speed 5 years ago, I don't know! Hope the market flood is still going then and I can pick up one for a good price!
