you leave them alone for one weekend.

One weekend, not a week not a month, not a year but one short weekend.

You get back and you see they are using "lemon and mint" toothpaste!

Can you imagine anything more hideous!

I am extremely worried about Mark's sanity!

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...
: mcgonagall July 26, 2004, 06:17:21 AM
lmao at least he was still using toothpaste. I have known men that would rather brush thier teeth with beer  :-X when there wives are not aropund

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...

: ferdinand_the_yak July 26, 2004, 06:24:00 PM
LEMON and MINT? Is that even possible/legal? Which marketing exec had the bright idea of putting those two together? Sounds rather yucky - how did you manage to use it Mark?

C'mon the whole forum is on the edge ;)

As for the beer... disgusting is all I can say :P Can't stand the stuff

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...
: Roz July 26, 2004, 07:10:52 PM
Hmmm. I shall have to take my toothbrush around and try it...

I'll put some mouthwash at the ready in case it tastes hideous!

 ;D

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...
: MakTheYak July 27, 2004, 04:22:11 AM
Haha! Yeah it's true I bought it... but to be fair the other options were Apple and mint, or Melon and mint. It's an introductory offer and so it was a bargin price, and I just can't resist a bargain! I haven't tried it yet, but I'll be sure to let you know how vile it is when I do :)

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...
: savage727 July 27, 2004, 09:15:40 AM
Great story Mcgonagall!!  :)

Mark -  all I can say is that you are a braver man than I am my friend!!   :P

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...
: MakTheYak July 27, 2004, 09:17:36 AM
That's a shame!

I've tried it, and Roz has now tried it! The plan now was to send it from forum member to forum member for a verdict  :P

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...
: mcgonagall July 27, 2004, 11:41:14 AM

Hi FTY:

Does your chocolate frogs come with a lenticular Wizard trading card?  The one I bought did and I sent it to Mark in my last parcel to him.

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...
: mcgonagall July 30, 2004, 07:14:30 AM
they do come with cards but they look alot differant than the english ones but similar to the amercian ones .
I have a few spares of the Australian ones if anyone would like some

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...
: savage727 August 01, 2004, 04:11:53 AM
Check with Mark our Head Yak as I sent him the one I got in my frog.  It was the Wizard Newt Scamander who wrote Fantastic Beasts and where to find them.

I think he would like them Mcgonagall.   :)

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...
: Roz August 01, 2004, 04:27:07 AM
Ed have you read Quidditch through the ages? Or Fantastic beasts and where to find them??

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...
: savage727 August 02, 2004, 10:35:52 AM
Hi Roz:

You and Mark sent those to me in my Birthday package but I have not read them yet.  I plan to do so this coming week.   :)

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...
: mcgonagall August 02, 2004, 10:52:05 AM
I live those books and the best things about them is that they are only $6.95 for the both

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...
: Roz August 02, 2004, 01:50:47 PM
Did we really?

Ha!

Well - those are first edition first print super dupa ones that come with a book plate (Hogwarts library style) in a Satchel style packet.

But AU$6.95 is a bargain, but perhaps they are not done for charity over there - does it say that monies raised go to Comic Relief? (for poor children in the UK and Africa?) - I hope so  :)

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...
: mcgonagall August 02, 2004, 02:14:38 PM
yeap the money does go to the charity . They where that price in target but they where having this super sale .

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...
: Roz August 02, 2004, 02:18:45 PM
Ahhhhhhh that's OK then - it frustrates me when European products cost less elsewhere :)

For example Salomon inline skates are about 50% of the price in America but are made in France. That is half the price that they are available for in France. The excuse has always been that UK prices reflect the cost of importing but I'd say America was a tad further away from France :)

 ::)

Yeah comic relief is one of the most fun charities in the UK - every 2 years they have a day dedicated to raising money for this charity - almost the whole country gets involved, making and selling cakes, doing sponsored runs/ baths in baked beans etc. THe two main driving comedians behind it are Lenny Henry and Dawn French... sounding familiar?

Yeah Lenny does the voice for the disembodied head on the Knight bus and Dawn French plays the fat lady

 ;D

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...
: ferdinand_the_yak August 02, 2004, 03:39:00 PM
Oooh - Lenny Henry is in Australia now doing a one man show called 'So much things to say'. He was on a popular chat show last week (Rove Live for those of you playing at home) and he was hilarious! At the end, he demonstrated a pie throwing routine and all the celebrities that were on the show that night pelted cream pies at the host. Absolutely hysterical!

As for my copies of Fantastic Beasts and Quidditch through the ages, I received them as a Christmas present a couple of years back - from a fellow HP fan :)

I will let you know when they arrive :)

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...
: savage727 August 06, 2004, 08:38:11 PM
Do you all like the Harry Potter flavored jelly beans?  I purchased a few boxes when they came out and removed the card that said what the flavors were and brought it into the office I worked in.  As you know some of those flavors are pretty nasty.  I will never forget some of the expressions from people who ate those!   :-X    :P    :'(     ???     :-[      :o

You big meanie, you! ;)

When they first came out here, the flavours were pretty lame - the worst was a horseradish one (but it was nevetheless hilarious when I gave my sister one ;D) I have not seen them around my neck of the woods for a while, and I am not sure whether the ones mcgonagall is sending me are imported from the States where the flavours are a lot more interesting as you say. Will let you know! :D

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...
: savage727 August 08, 2004, 06:42:14 AM
I have not seen them for sale around here for some time.  I wonder if they ran out of popularity or did complaints come in to force them off the shelves?   ;)

: Re:You think you know someone and THEN...
: ferdinand_the_yak August 09, 2004, 01:25:01 PM
