Since the scans and comments thread is getting prety big, I thought I would start a new one for cards received.  Here are 3 of my new ones I just got today!  Mcgonagall and Voldemort have creases.  ;D The DP says "flobberworms"!  8)  I also got a Cho's yule ball gown, a Lucious Malfoy robe, and my CFC set with cells of Fleur  ;D , Cho, Hermione and Victor, the twins getting knocked out of the Goblet of Fire ring  ;D and a dragon film card with a cool cel of Harry reaching for the egg!  ;D

You've been a busy little bee!  Nice cards. :)  It sounds like you have an excellent selection of filmcards.

Yes, I think it's the last part of Hippogriff on the second line.  ;D

Hm, flobberworms and hyppogriffs? Sounds to me like the article Rita writes up after interviewing Hagrid, telling everyone he is a half giant. Good to know that it might be part of the prophet, if not an actual plot point in the movie.

Here is ours, which I posted in the other thread, but it also says "HIP" I think, as part of hippogriff's, so there must definitely be an article like that somewhere in there.  How cool is that?

Kelly, I love the DP and the Voldemort swatch--the crease or seam looks awesome--maybe a seam on the hem of the robe or a sleeve.  Maybe it's good 'ole Voldy's armpit!  :rofl:

That's a really nice swatch will have to hope I might get one of these in the 5 boxes I have just bought,makes a nice card to the collection that one especially when the swatch has some scribe on it.

Paul, the Daily Prophet card is the 2-case incentive card, so you won't be able to pull one from your boxes.  But there are quite a few nice props in the packs that you can pull.  Good luck with your boxes! ;D

is that what incentive means... they sit in side the case like the lenticular loader not inside one of the 10 boxes in the case... (thanks for that ann)
i've never been too clear on incentive cards so i'll never get a voldermort robe then :( :( :(

In the case of the daily prophet card, they are not in the case like the lenticular, but sent to you separately if you ordered two cases. But there are plenty to be bought on ebay.

The multiple case incentives aren't included in the case.  They're mailed separately to the distributors and dealers, who then mail the cards to the customers who bought two or more cases.  The case loaders or case toppers are inserted in the cases.

If someone bought five GOFU cases, he or she would receive two CI3 Daily Prophet cards (the 2-case incentive) and one CI1 Fleur Yule Ball dress (the 5-case incentive).  For 10 cases, there would be five Daily Prophet cards, two Fleur cards, and one Voldemort card.  The case incentives are meant to encourage dealers to buy more cases.

Could you tell me what the back says? And do you think that Viktor's swatch is the same swatch they used for his "Material" cards from GoF?

The back says:

Viktor Krum's Wand numbered 28/28. It has the Durmstrang eagle/bird carving that Im assuming comes from butt of the wand. The card is cut to the piece. I actually met the guy who made the card, so that was pretty cool. Like mentioned before, its not for sale, so please dont offer. I dont want to be tempted. Thanks!

Thank you very much everyone! Even now I cant believe I pulled it. And thank you, Tower, for supplying the photo, Ive never seen the wand up close before. Is that one of the Noble Collection wands? It looks fantastic! Thats one thing I like about the movies so much. They made every wand more personal and unique, as opposed to the books when everyone had just different colored and sized sticks.

Hmm, I totally missed those.  :P  Thanks for the update!  But is the C14 the first Harry costume card with varients?  I remember on the other sets that everyone was speculating on why we never saw Harry costume cards with a patch swatch or anything.

I think the only other Harry costumes that had any sort of variants were the Quidditch robe and Quidditch sweater from SS.  I don't remember any patches, but there were different colors.

There has been one other Harry variant which was on the dual costume.  I think the Harry part had an eyelet, if memory serves  :)

Looks like the Hogwarts patch is on the purple part of the front....only guessing.

Well, i decided to scan them in rarity order (okay, little mistake, it's from the right to the left).  ;D  :rofl:

There were a lot of cards available i was looking for the last days and i felt, i had to take all these chances, although it's a bit much for the moment (maybe too much) But now it's enough, now i have to sell a lot of spares. Anyone who needs a Fleur Wand? ;)
All is okay until i decide to keep spare cards because both variants i have are nice. One of each card (i don't talk about 2 costume pieces or the 5 different Wizard Candys) is enough and i won't change my opinion with that.  8)

But i wish, the CoS would be far away at the moment. I want to sell my spares first.  ::)

Great collection!  The Daily Prophet cards are my favorite.  I came very close to bidding on your GOFU card, but decided to save the money for COS instead. :)

When I got my PoA one, I was thrilled! I didn;t care what it looked like since this was a tough one to get, but I got lucky and loved the swatch anyway :)

It's Harry's eye!  I can't show it in a picture or scan, but when I tip the card to look inside the die-cut, I can see the bridge of his glasses over his nose.  I think it's part of the picture Rita Skeeter's photographer took when she caught Harry and Hermione hugging before the first task.

wow what an amazing variant ive never seen a daliy prophet with an image for a varient ive only seen various fonts of text. i see his eye, his single eye gives the expression of the stern look like the one on the dvd cover, as when rita catches harry and hermione they are caught with the expession of shock :o :o

Ah so you're the one that got this card ..I was wondering what happened to it...last time I saw it we had an offer for $500 and did anybody wanted to beat the offer

Well thankfully no one went higher than my offer - which was the BIN amount that DMcards had for his - which someone beat me to it. In light of receiving this one I'm glad. This one has part of the H from Hogwarts and part of two of the house emblems (Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw). If I remember correctly the other card had only part of the Slitheryn emblem.

That's very cool Jackie. IMHO much cooler than the Triple - it epitomises the GOF movie, and the design is 1000x better... but in an ideal collection it's nice to have both :rofl:

Can you see the bubbles? I think it's because the owner has put the card in a screwdown protector inside a penny sleeve... they weren't designed to hold both, so there's not enough room... and cards can be damaged this way... so just be careful folks.

Roz, I think you're right in what the owner did with the card.  You CAN in fact use a penny sleeve (or slip sleeve - whatever you want to call it) with a snap tite holder, but it's an effort to get it to fit well.  So much easier to leave the card loose inside the hard card holder (snap tite or screwdown or magnet holder).  I only use penny sleeves with top loaders.

Still, I wouldn't mind having that card in my collection... I'm just not a die hard collector or have been lucky enough to pull one.

And that Quad card is SWEET!

I think the bubbles are in the penny sleeve, not on the card. I suspect that if the penny sleeve were to be removed the bubbles would disappear. Of course, I might be incorrect.

I think so, too, but I'd be concerned that the card (especially the corners) might be damaged.

Oh, I'm sure the bubbling is not the card, but I wouldn't recommend cramming it in like that.. there's always a chance of damage, it's just something to be aware of when trying to protect your own cards... a penny sleeve always seems like extra protection.

I thought the material looked quite dark compared to the dress so i think it might be from the belt. I took the first photo with the flash on and i thought that this was the reason that it looked quite dark so i took one without the flash and it still looks darker than the dress so i think it backs up my theory that this piece of material is from the belt. :D

I just got back from F/X in Orlando and was able to pick up a Cedric C8 costume card with a black patch running through it.


I paid $50 for the card....did I overpay, get a good deal, or pay just the right amount. I will try to get a scan up on Monday when I am back at work and have a scanner to use.
