: Wii no longer need a Revolution...

Apparently the new name for Nintendo's Revolution is Wii (pronounced we).

Oh

My

God...

Yup... though there are several weird things going on here.

Firstly you might be forgiven for thinking "ok, well it must mean something in Japanese"... well it doesn't... the Japanese can't even pronounce it ::)

And secondly Nintendo HAVE NOT applied for a trademark on the name WII in either America or Japan... although they always do this before releasing this kind of information.

So I have no idea what on earth's going on... some kind of April Fools Joke? Some pre-E3 publicity stunt? Who knows?

I hope it is a joke, however, it looks pretty serious. The name change came from a pre E3 conference held by Nintendo.

And actually, although Wii does not mean anything in Japanese, ii means good in japanese

Oh no, I am not defending the name change at all. As a matter of fact I downright HATE it
I really do, it is a god awful name. I mean I guess the name of a system should not matter, but still. Just plain awful
