Firstly you might be forgiven for thinking "ok, well it must mean something in Japanese"... well it doesn't... the Japanese can't even pronounce it ::) And secondly Nintendo HAVE NOT applied for a trademark on the name WII in either America or Japan... although they always do this before releasing this kind of information. So I have no idea what on earth's going on... some kind of April Fools Joke? Some pre-E3 publicity stunt? The name change came from a pre E3 conference held by Nintendo.
