: Movie Posters Set
: LikORish-Spider April 26, 2006, 10:00:51 PM
This is not exactly MM, but it does deal with the four movies released so far.
I made a couple of scans for general information to supplement what you may have already seen.
I have a set. The box is nice looking. It measures 8" x 6" x 4" (Wide x Depth [front to back] x Height)

Top:

Front:

Bottom - Showing Number:

Card backs, each movie has a different color:
Sorcerer's Stone/Philosopher's Stone - Purple;   4 cards;  Numbers  1  to  4;   Silver Fronts
Chamber of Secrets                         - Green;   8 cards;  Numbers  5  to 12;  Silver Fronts
Prisoner of Azkaban                         - Blue;    14 cards;  Numbers 13 to 26;  Silver Fronts
Goblet of Fire                                 - Red;     12 cards;  Numbers 27 to 38;  Silver Fronts

Sample Gold and Silver Card Fronts:
01 to 04  Back is Hogwarts Coat of Arms

Also included in the box is a redemdption card for the four "Gold Standard" coins. The picture of the coins on the card shows that the "coins" are silver in color.

PS: Pay NO attention to the bottom of the box that says"For information on this specific product visit......"

Thanks for posting John. :D  I must say that I'm a little disappointed with this set. :(  I thought all the cards would all be in full color, not color shades. :P  Maybe I'll feel differently once I get my set in hand though. ::)

: Re: Movie Posters Set
: LikORish-Spider April 26, 2006, 10:20:09 PM
They look better in hand of course. I've seen them on ebay with starting bids of $9.99 and Bins of $27.99/ $28.00. Shipping at $8.10 ++.

These boxes will not fit in the USP/ebay #4 box or in the Standard Rate box. Hence the $8.10, which is the starting Non Standard Priority Mail rate.
Tom is BINing them at $28.00 plus $8.10. The last time I looked.

I put in the Hagrid and Emma posters for McG and Mike.

By the way, the Ultra-Pro 4 pocket pages work very nicely with these cards.

Well that's good news, I bought a box of these a while ago :)

Thanks for the info and pix John!! ;)

Just did a quick search and came across this auction for them ...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Harry-Potter-Premiere-Poster-Card-Sealed-Set_W0QQitemZ6250109314QQcategoryZ73570QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

... where the seller states in an update to his listing: ... "The updated release date from Artbox is now June 5th."

I've just checked Tom's auction and no mention was made of this date on there which makes me ask - is this right and if so I wonder where the first seller got the info from?
To be honest, I've not really kept up to speed on the release dates for ALL the up-coming Potter sets so if this has already been discussed somewhere else on the Forum then shout up and I'll amend this post! ;) ;D

: Re: Movie Posters Set
: LikORish-Spider April 27, 2006, 01:16:33 AM
Beats me where he got the date from. I have mine now and Captain Collect has them starting at $9.99 and another person as well then there are two (Tom) and another guy at $28.00/27.99.

Sci-Fi on here has them in stock, too.

They are available for immediate consumption...

Personally, I like the set.

Thank you for posting the pics, John!  I had just come across the set a few days ago and was intrigued, but didn't know anything about it.  Now, after seeing it, I may have to scrap up some dough to get one.   ;D

Oh, this card collecting is going to be the end of me, yet.   ::) But, hey, you only have one life, right? Might as well live it.

: Re: Movie Posters Set

8 week :o Geez! How long are you waiting to send it in?

: Re: Movie Posters Set

Do we know what the bonus card is?

: Re: Movie Posters Set
: Scifi Cards April 27, 2006, 07:12:03 AM
Do we know what the bonus card is?

I'm not sure Artbox knows just yet, they have at least 8 weeks to figure it out.

Since Artbox does not return redemptions, I guess those wanting a 'complete' set will have to buy 2 boxes and only redeem 1 of the cards for the coin set. ::)

This mistake is going to cost Artbox dearly.  They'll be sending 4 fairly heavy cards to everyone, all over the world, that bought a set.  That's really got to eat into the profit margins.  But it was probably better than having the cards sitting around taking up space while they try to get the Update out and then Memorable Moments right after that.

For info purposes, it weighs 1 pound 1 ounce. Then when you add the Box and the Packing material it probably brings it up to three pounds.
That means the shipping except via "turtle" mail may cost more than the cards themselves.

No way it goes into any flat rate envelopes.

See if this link displays for you: (Based on a 3 lb. net weight)

http://ircalc.usps.gov/intl_speed.asp?CID=10150&MailType=package&Pounds=3&Ounces=0

The seller probably figures nobody wants to pay that much. Sort of like a silk shirt which cost $12.00 new and then $18.00 to have it cleaned.

Just spotted this up for auction, Be fast though finishes on 1st May.

The seller says he has box no. 1 and 2 in hand!! :o

Yes, direct from the auction:
"You are bidding on ONE set of the Harry Potter Premiere Poster Trading Card Sets.  There are only 1100 sets made and I have set ONE and set TWO.  The rarest, impossible to get unless you buy them from me, sets.  This auction is set ONE for sale.  See picture for numbers.  They are coming to you Mint and Never opened."

I salute his salesmanship. Well done. This a box never to be opened. Do you think it will be?

Now an attempt at some satire:

The buyer of this box may rest assured that the Cards contained herein are in the most desired state of mint condition. They are coming to you not only "Mint and Never Opened", but also the new  highly desired "Unseen By Human Eyes" MINT CONDITION. Because as we all know, some famous physicist once said (I paraphrase here...don't quote ME!.), "An object can be changed merely by looking at it." So in that spirit, be the first to obtain a box of cards in such a pristine and desired MINT state----"Unseen By Human Eyes." Guaranteed not to have been changed by one errant photon of light. By the way, the buyer of any of my boxes may be asured that all of my boxes have a unique number. I have number 137 of 1100, only one box number 137 was made, you must agree that elusive number 137 is as equally rare as the elusive number 1 of 1100. etc. So, to paraphrase a famous Chicago political saying, please bid early and bid often.

See the other thread about how some new boxes of cards don't even make it to the front door of the house unopend.

PS:
Oh, by the way, The manufacturer knowing that this box would never be opened, actuallity filled with cut pages from old phone books carefully weighed to exactly match the weight of a genuine a box with real cards. (Saves on print runs and minting coins for redemption, too!)

$48.00 presently plus $8.60 shipping. Well done, indeed!

All this is tongue-in-cheek, so the usual no offense meant disclaimer. Just trying to poke a little fun.
I know that I'm a crazy collector, too. RADAR numbers...gimme more. Right, Roz?
No doubt it, I must cancel my subscription to MAD MAGAZINE.

I just got my set today from Sci-fi cards and I'm totally pleased!  ;D  They look better than I thought, and the box is cool too.  There were a lot of posters that I had never seen before so I was suprised with some of them.  Is everyone sending in thier redemption now or waiting?

From the pics John posted, they look wonderful, really vivid.

Does anyone know what the other card is that you will get with the redeemed 4 coin cards?

: Re: Movie Posters Set
: LikORish-Spider May 03, 2006, 10:37:32 AM
Bitsy, all of the cards seem to be posters in US English.

Martyn, I have no idea what the card will be.

Do you all remember the way the frames on the ULTRA RARE and RARE HP Film  Flipz Cards were made. They are a heavy metal foil that are etched looking.
The silver card frame itching is of four different designs, one design per movie. The Gold cards are also etched looking and with matching movie frame designs of the silver cards

They aren't in Irvine any longer. I wouldn't risk them being lost in forwarding.

If some of your cards are damaged, you could send an email to customer service and see if they have replacements.  Then you could mail the scratched cards with the redemption. :)

Mine arrived today and I have just read the back of all four the cards, it says "one embedded Gold Standard Coin etc." but the coins look silver to me. They look silver on the posted scan too, has anyone received any gold coins?

: Re: Movie Posters Set
: Tower November 15, 2006, 04:19:12 AM
All i know is that they should be silver, all is okay. "Gold" Standard stands also on the silver box topper cards. Maybe it means something like "Premium Standard".

: Re: Movie Posters Set
: LikORish-Spider November 15, 2006, 10:17:15 PM
I got my 4 "silver" cards yesterday. They are nice. They fit the 4 pocket pages. The truth is the bigger format shows more detail, but.. (isn't there always a "but"?), I kind of wish that for consistancy that Artbox had made all of the cards the same size. And wouldn't it have been nice to have put all 16 cards (4 large silver, 8 large bronze, 2 small gold and 2 small silver) randomly into the MM boxes as inserts and number them CC1-CC16. Then they would have been true chase cards. Maybe they will re-do the large ones in the small format in the future. The Gold cards were not really a good two case incentive because they were not consistant with the other case incentives...un-numbered and they didn't have a costume or prop swatch as the other CI cards do.
Opinions... aren't they great???

: Re: Movie Posters Set
: Tower November 15, 2006, 10:56:43 PM
If you talk about "all" cards, you should have said "all 20 cards". 8 large silver, 8 large bronze, 2 small gold and 2 small silver ... ::)

: Re: Movie Posters Set
