: Re:The Prancing Pony : savage727 July 11, 2004, 11:36:29 AM That was the case but I will bet even those Peter Jackson Auto cards from The Two Towers will be going up in value. I am glad I have one of those and I paid $42.00 for mine. :)
: Re:The Prancing Pony : samwise16 July 12, 2004, 02:26:12 AM I've never had a PJ auto :'( not even from the ROTK premiere, ahh well Viggo will have to do ::)
: Re:The Prancing Pony : savage727 July 12, 2004, 09:43:48 AM Yea Ben you cannot go wrong with a Viggo auto!! :)
: Re:The Prancing Pony : samwise16 July 12, 2004, 06:57:43 PM I was lucky to get a personalised autograph from viggo at the ROTK prem, no one else seemed bothered to personalise but thats what makes viggo so different (better then the rest). I'll post a picture of the auto later :)
: Re:The Prancing Pony : savage727 July 13, 2004, 05:40:49 AM Ben:
How great is that - you have a personalized autograph from Viggo!! WOW! Was he friendly during the signing? It must have been crazy at that showing. Please tell me all about it! I can't wait to see the photo! 8) : Re:The Prancing Pony : mclarkey July 14, 2004, 06:03:34 PM Sounds cool to me
: Re:The Prancing Pony : Roz July 14, 2004, 08:38:08 PM This was at the ROTK premiere... Ben is now a veteran of standing outside premieres ;D
: Re:The Prancing Pony : savage727 July 15, 2004, 09:13:04 AM Now you really have my interest up Roz! :)
Ben - when you read this please take the time to tell us all about your experience at the ROTK Premiere. How long were you there, what did you see, ect.? Was this in London? : Re:The Prancing Pony : Roz July 15, 2004, 02:05:46 PM Hee hee - I really don't want to take Ben's thunder away and tell his story so I'll tell him to get online ASAP but yes it was in London...
: Re:The Prancing Pony : savage727 July 15, 2004, 08:35:58 PM Thanks Roz! How is Ben doing by the way? I have a number of digital images from the LOTR's movies that I was able to download from Official Sites. Would you or Ben be interested in seeing any of them? 8)
: Re:The Prancing Pony : Roz July 15, 2004, 08:41:29 PM Too right I would be. If you would send them to my gmail account or Mark's gmail account it would be easy for me to forward them to Ben (then you don't have to send then 2x through a 56k modem :) )
rosalindturner@gmail.com : Re:The Prancing Pony : savage727 July 15, 2004, 09:40:17 PM Ok Roz they will be coming in waves to your gmail account! This way hopefully it will not take too long to send them!! :)
: Re:The Prancing Pony : mclarkey July 20, 2004, 04:42:13 PM Bought 2 more cases ROTK UPDATE got 3 autos????
2 of sala baker 1 of ordesky boo hoo hoo still no Peter Jackson Even phoned UK's main TOPPS distributor (got "inc" in its name?) The main retail department opened 20 cases and got 9 autos, but NO PETER JACKSON. By my reconing 15 and a half cases should get you one. Well by what I have found out there may be less than I thought of good old PETE JACKSON : Re:The Prancing Pony : savage727 July 21, 2004, 09:43:48 PM Wow what are they going to do with all of those base set cards from all those cases they opened? How many people are going to want them? And no PJ Auto card! I wonder if they are losing money on this deal?
: Re:The Prancing Pony : Roz July 21, 2004, 09:51:15 PM Somehow that "inc" place manages to sell it's base sets (even new ones) for £15 to £20 each. I think they sell them retail to other card shops for about £10 each!
: Re:The Prancing Pony : savage727 July 21, 2004, 10:01:04 PM Wow they must be a sole source to command that kind of money. Here in the States card shops can't give them away! I brought down 20 base sets of ROTK to a local card shop and only one set was purchased. That was last year and they still have the rest there. People are just not interested in the Topps movie cards around here. :(
