For any of you out there who have kids (or even if you don't), DON'T MISS THIS MOVIE!  It was absolutely outstanding and had a terrific cast.  The movie is based on the Nurse Matilda stories (can't recall the author).  I've never read any of them, but I just ordered the book through Amazon a few minutes ago.

The lesson of the movie was terrific and I can honestly say it's the best fairytale I've ever seen onscreen.  It's a thoughtful movie.  Way better than Mary Poppins, and I'm a big fan of that one.  It was really a welcome change from all the cartoons that have come out.  I'm still a Disney/Pixar fan, but they all start to blend together after a while.

The actress who plays the cook is the same actress that will play Umbridge in OOTP.  I didn't think she looked right for that part until I saw this movie, now all I can say is- perfect casting!  She isn't evil in Nanny McPhee, but I have no doubt that she will be wonderfully evil as Umbridge.

Anyway, my 6 year old was totally mesmerised by the movie, and was even quiet for a while afterward.  I could tell she was contemplating the story (very cute).  Can't wait for the DVD.

 I thought it was going to be a Mary Poppins rip off before I saw it.  But the story is much more involved and intense and they don't burst into song!

Hmm... now you've taxed me... can anyone remember Mr Darcy (the 'real' one's) first name... not Fitzwilliam... that's his cousin... bah - it's left me!

I wanted to see this Kelly, I think I'll add it to my DVD rental list :D

Kelly -
Was it me or was Emma's mouth looking a little animated when she completely changed?

I didn't see that, but she did appear to still have make up on to look a lot older than she is.  She was still Nanny, so she was keeping the same expressions.  Maybe that was it.  ???

I saw it once, right before Evangeline changed into her wedding dress
