I just checked out Bregent's web site and saw that they posted a sell sheet for the set.  You'll get one Sketch Art Card and one Autographed card per box. ;D

have to say that 1 sketch and 1 auto per box is quite a good deal, considering how good the sketches from the john wayne and 3 stooges set.

gotta admit, i cant wait for this one to come out... only problem is completing the master set....

i bought heaps of the john wayne and three stooges sketches.. loved the colored ones... very stylish.... hope this manufacturer get some modern titles at some stage..

Awesome sketches, thanks for letting us know Becks! I love the Jessica Hickman and Warren Martineck Wicked Witch sketches, the Withc was my favourite character when I was little.

HOW COOL!!! 8) My fave is Warren!!! I like that the OZ logo is offset instead of in the center of the card allowing the artist a clear area to draw!!  ;D

Martineck flying witch is my favorite!  But wow, I really think they're all good.  8)

With the samples so far, my fave is the Scarecrow card :D

Also really like Warren's twister at the farm.

So far, this set looks great. The sample sketches look wonderful. I love Brent Engstrom flying monkey sketch. I will definitely be searching for one similar to it down the road. I hope the other sketches that they didn't show also retain this quality  :o=

I've never bought a Breygent product so perhaps someone who did could help. Since the sell sheet says one auto and one sketch card per box, how are the costumes and props inserted? Are they can extra insert besides the auto and sketch?

Dude!  They posted more sketches within the past couple of days!  When I looked it was Jessica, Rich, and Warren's sketches only.

As much as I like those rare cards, that one will be impossible!

I'm sad to hear there will only be eight :o But at least this is the first card company interested in perserving a costume this old instead of cutting it up for all of us to get a piece.

It really doesn't bother me that costumes or old jerseys (for sports cards) get "cut up" and put into cards.  IMO it gives so many other people the opportunity to own a piece of something special too them.

I love my Babe Ruth jersey card.  From my perspective why can't 2,000 people enjoy a piece of Babe Ruth instead of just one?

I know some disagree strongly, I wish they would have cut up the whole dress and everyone could have one :o

I think ALL the sketchcards look nice, there is not one up there at the moment that I wouldnt love to have!

I cant believe how rare the dress card will be... :'( oh well at least there will be 8 out there, you would have to be pretty lucky to pull one of those  ::)

I have to agree.
I heard about there only being 20 Judy Garland signature cards a little while back, and for about 30 seconds I frowned about it, but then I remembered that this is the only set (and will most likely be the only set) ever to even offer something as rare and treasured as that.

Same goes for the Witch's hat and Garland dress cards. 8 might not seem like alot, but when you think about it, the closest you ever came to seeing, much less owning any piece of this dress was paying admission into a muesuem before this set.

The fact that Breygent was even able to get their hands on those items is just amazing.

And think about it. Not sure how many boxes per case, but lets say 10. You'll be getting (if the early odds hold up) 10 autographs, 10 sketch cards, either a Lions hair or Scarecrow straw prop card, and 2 yellow brick cards for a total of 23 premium inserts per case, not to mention Tom saying there are 6 chase per box. Plus there is always that illusive chance of getting a case with one of the 170 very rare premium inserts. Now, I do not know what the case numbers were on John Wayne, or the Three Stooges (maybe someone can fill me in) but I cannot imagine that there were more than lets just say 1000 cases. even if that is the case with this set, that means that 1:5 cases (approx.) could have one of those really really rare cards.

I know a lot of people just spent a LOT of money on evolution, and no one can even deny that they weren't PREYING for a Kayanan in their case...and the odds on him were about 1:6 cases!

Brian you are a little off on your numbers.  I don't think they aren't determined yet, but I don't think it will be 23 premium cards per case.  I don't want to speak for Tom, but you are probably a little high on your numbers.

I'm getting more interested in the munchkin auto.  Will it be one munchkin signing or a few different ones?  One of my favorite scenes is the munchkin song when Dorothy lands in Oz.  ;D

I'm sure I am off, which is why I said if the rumored numbers hold true then we should expect that. Originally, it was rumored there would be an autograph AND sketch card in every box.

I never said that would be true or not, but even if I am off, the cards you are getting are great and rival anything that artbox or inkworks has put out for sure. Don't get me wrong, they both have great products, but were talking about prop and costume cards from a film over 65 years old. The fact that this set isn't just base and chase cards is amazing.

We do have to remember the cost involved in acquiring the materials to make this set.  I don't know if this is the same dress, but it sold for $267,000 at auction (and that doesn't include the buyer's fee)! :o

OK well there's been a news flash from Tom @ Breygent.

Due to unforseen circumstances one signer is unfortunately no longer able to sign for this set, and so there will no longer be enough autographs for one per box as originally stated on the BreyGent website (and as posted by Anna when she first received the news).

This is the most recent sell sheet, and it's still looking a great set ;)

I think it still looks like a great set most of the fun of collecting is the thought of pulling the really rare cards. This set also looks like we might be able to find some unique other cards along the way.  ;D

is SciFi cards prices ok? i am surprised that ROZ lets people advertise commercially in here and advocating it??? sorry am new not mean to offend anyone.. just most forums inhibit this... but its nice having dealers that look after you (me to now) yakers...

People can advertise their products and eBay auctions in the appropriate areas of the forum, such as the "Card Trading Section" for miscellaneous card sets, ""Mt. Doom" for LOTR, and "Diagon Alley" for HP.  In general, "for sale" messages with prices that are posted anywhere else are deleted and the people who post them receive a friendly email from a mod. :)

As for whether a seller's price is good, that's for you to decide after researching prices with other dealers.  Good customer service is important, too.

VERY true!  It's not worth saving just a couple of dollars and not getting the service I've come to expect from my regular dealers/sellers....

I agree. I buy from the same people over and over again because I get good service - they may not be the cheapest in town, but they know me and know what I like and that's important to me.

thanks so much.... am still earning all this stuff and agree.. god customer service is imperative regardless of what one is buying and price is second to service (unless cases i guess)>..

One of the things i am having troubles getting my head around is if i do buy a case of breygent wizards, my odds must be better than buying a box or 6. wouldnt it? wouldnt most dealers look for the good cards and break till they pulled them and then off load the boxes that would more than likely hold lesser value inserts?? say i pulled an evolution colour sketch first box out of a case (wishful thinking :o= :o= :o=), wouldnt it be wiser to sell off the remaining boxes as the chances of them holding another higher value card is less and then reinvestinf the solds stocks money into another case for the chance of a second colour? hope this makes sense!!

I think this is the biggest reason why i am hesitant in buying boxes.... and as you guys/gals kinldy reminded me, its finding the service and quality dealers.... well, i will keep searching....

You bring up a very good concern here.  I know there are some dealers who do open a case until they find "THE" card and then the remaining boxes are the ones they sell off.  Some dealers will say that's the only way to make any money doing this.  I say they are wrong.

The way it works around here is box and case orders are shipped before I ever open any product.  That way there is no temptation, but also because people want the boxes as soon as possible and many times I will ship orders out the same day the cards show up on my doorstep.

Normally I have a case that is for single box sales and one that is for my opening.  Ocassionally they become mixed if I don't open a full case worth, but that's the exception not the rule.

But everyone else if right.  Do your homework, compare prices and service.  And deal with someone you are comfortable with.  Thats the best way to make a good purchase.

I gotta say. I was planning on picking up a case, maybe two. Well, now that I have seen the cards, I am upping my order.
The cards look SO beautiful. I do not care about the size of the costume cards at all, just look at them, the card itself it amazing. This is definetly the best looking Breygent set yet. I cannot wait!

A dealer at the Royal National yesterday said he was expecting the release to be 31st May.

I have four nieces in Peru that love Wizard of Oz. I'd be willing to trade a Lupin Jacket and a Sleeping bag from Harry Potter for any WOZ costume card.

In the Three Stoges set, the sketches were not numbered and the only sketches available were the ones shown on the Breygent web site.   What Breygent did that was different compared to other card companies, was that if you purchased one of their binders, included was a set of 18 Repro sketch cards.  I'm not sure if Breygent will be doing the same for the WOZ set since there are so many more artists and sketches. :-\

Breygent had some of these sketches on display in Philly this weekend. The pictures don't do them justice - They look amazing!  As a matter of fact, I wasn't going to be getting a box, but seeing the sketch cards sold me.

one artist will number most of his cards. i do not number the cards unless the artist wants to do them that way..not all sketch cards will be posted before the set comes out as i dont like showing them all as that would spoil it for a lot of collectors.for example cat staggs has 3 on the web site but is doing about 22 different sketch cards.most artists are doing quite a few different cards as i am just showing a few samples of each of there works. tom

I just wrote a bit about this in my Philly Non-Sport card thread in the General Discussion.  You are absolutely right.  The pics on the website do not do justice for these cards at all.  They are truly amazing in person.  Words just can't explain.  And the promos are so colorful!!!!  This set is just going to be amazing.  I can't wait :)

I checked out the Breygent web site this morning and they posted some new pictures of the Munchkin autograph cards. ;D  Two of the cards are sketch/autograph cards.  The sketch of the Munchkin was drawn by Chris Henderson and then the Munchkin signed below the sketch.  This set keeps getting better and better. 8)

Yeah just to clarify, not ALL of my cards will be in color but for this set I did 300 cards and I think I did 100 in color I have to check, its been a rough couple of weeks for work and deadlines.  BUt I did do a fair ammount of Scarecrows in color, as I know everyone has e-mailed me about that one LOL

Rittenhouse sells at full retail.  I somehow doubt they sell many cases at $960 each when a dealer can cut several hundred off that amount.

I think it's mostly a courtesy that Tom does not compete with Breygent's dealers and distributors.

Although the card doesn't have his signature on it, It does look like Brian Kong's writting.

Also if you check out MIKE D'S incredible collection, you can see the signature on the WOZ cards and the same kind of writting as the Gollum card.

Im here as well guys! I did 50 sketch cards total, 8 different pictures, and all are colored uniquly varying from pencils, markers and paints. I also realised when i was done with all my cards i only did one loli-pop kid. So there really is one true, one of a kind sketch card in this set ;D I cant wait for this set to be released as well!

Ok, I am just now finding out about the Wizard of Oz set--you mean they are actually having costume, prop, and autograph cards! And sketch cards!!!!!  I think my airways are constricting. 

I've been so caught up in Harry Potter, that I never realized the depths of this type of collecting!  I only recently just found Scooby Doo Hobby boxes (I ordered my first one recently). 

Where can I find Wizard of Oz boxes? Is it too late to order them?   :o=

You ever lose track of time to the point where you think things actually happened just yesterday, but they really happened a while ago? Unfortunately, I do that an awful lot. Then, of course, I get disappointed when I find out how long ago things actually occurred.  :P

Breygent has updated their website.  The have sample Yellow Brick Road prop cards and also show the 6 case incentive sketch cards by Brian Kong and Cat Staggs. ;D

The Wizard of Oz Collector Cards will begin shipping at the end of May.

There are only 5000 numbered boxes!

my only negative thought is that the lion costume actually contains only 1 hair. so as long as there isn't a gust of wind it'll be a great set. ;D

When a person combs their hair do they comb just one.... :rofl: Even Homer Simpson combs about three.

I remember reading that the suit was sold at auction to a collector a few years ago for a lot of money. I guess getting any of the hairs at all was an accomplishment. Imagine one sequin from the ruby slippers----probably impossible.

All the sketches seem to be of a high level, no Evolution "A" stuff seems to be shown.

That is not ALL the cards.. I cna tell you now they are missing quite a few of the sketch cards. ;)

I did about 14-15 different cards (lion, flying monkey, glenda, etc) but for some reason they only have 2 of my cards on the site.  :)

Very nice!  Though I'm a little surprised you managed to pull two of the same colored sketch...

They are very close. In one you can see more of the strap details on her dress. Dorothy's face is smaller. On the other her lips have more detail.

Yes, I think it was anice breaking case. I only got one prop but there was one extra sketch card.

Just so you all know...I have 19 variations total. 8 to 10 of each in b/w and then 1 full color( a few have 2 full color versions)
Then the 3 x 5 cards are all full color with ten variants each done 4-6 times.

Well, as it turns out the PROP does have ONE piece of ONE hair in it.
the card does look very nice.

 :rofl: :rofl: It always cracks me up when a seller posts something like' 2 of 11" or "5 of 13" "rare. and then starts the bid at 9.99 and no reserve.

I bought cases. I am eventually going to sell one of the CAT cards. Haven't decided which one. May run an auction and let the high bidder choose one of the two and me keep the other one.

As I have been directed to this post by more than one fan, i thought I would reply to some of the questions regarding the Wizard of Oz sketch cards.

To answer your question, I only produced 65 sketch cards for the Wizard of Oz set. I felt that each one of the cards should be one-of-a-kind art work.

I went away for the weekend. My son is a big "Dukes of Hazzard" fan so we went to the CMT Dukes Fest in Nashville, TN, this last weekend. He got a nice couple of autographs from John Schneider "Bo" and one from "Enos". I just haven't gotten around to scanning them and posting them. Saw some card wrecks, stunts and listedened to a lot of music.
I am really pleased with all of the sketches by all of the artist. Tom did a great job of selecting, too. Anyway I think so. I have opened 5 cases and have 17 of the 20 artist represented in my pulls, 62 Sketches; 32 in ink and pencil and 30 in color. Still have not pulled a Jessica Hickman, Tom Hodges or a Darla Eckland sketch.

How did you do with the autos and props?

I've opened 5 cases. Got 5 of each variety of YBR and 3 Lion's hairs and Two Scarecrow straws.
12 of the colored printed autographs. Looks like Tom nailed the statistical average pretty well.
The Before and after cards are tuff. Only 9 (4 sets plus odd) cards in 60 boxes. B&A1 and B&A2.
I have scanned the sketches. Will post them all here later. In bite size chunks.

Think its quite sad for the manufacturer to know that I can manage to get a whole bunch of sketches (both wonderfully coloured and pencil sketches) at less than US$10 each on  :ebay:. Guess the LOTR evolution series has made many collectors running out of money to acquire these cards.

On the other hand, I am very very happy coz I got a superb collection of sketches now of this set!!!  ;D

A bargain is a bargain. Oz has kept its interest since the 1930's when the film was made ... I don't see it fading any time soon. So if you can get anywhere from 2-4 cards for $10 you should do it.

I think Lord of the Rings will hold true as well. I am not so certain all the others will. Like original comic art, I think you will see the values of good art on sketch cards keep rising in value.

Since I am still relatively new to these boards and I don't see a rules thread, I thought I would ask something...

I bought 2 cases of Wizard of Oz, and none of the sketch cards I was hoping for were in there.   :'(  I am trying to recoop some of my losses by putting some sketches, autos and prop cards up on  :ebay:.  Seeing as how a lot of these card are going so cheaply, I am a little worried that I will lose money big time.  I was hoping to be able to alert others here of the stuff I have up so that it may not be as big of a loss.  Is it okay to point you guys to eBay to have a look at my auctions, or is that totally taboo?

The timing for this set is very unfortunate.  We had LOTR Evolution in March (which really destroyed people's budgets), GOFU at the end of May, and now this one.  Had GOFU been released in April, as planned, at least a few more people would have been ready for WOZ.  I think that a lot of people haven't received their WOZ boxes and cases yet (me, for instance) and are hesitant to spend a lot of money on sketches and props without knowing what they might pull.  I've won two sketches, both less than $9 each, and that's all I'm comfortable spending until my package arrives.

Evolution pretty much killed my budget for the year... and I still need 11 artists from the set *sigh*

I'd hoped to get one from each artist with WOZ, but at the moment I have 5 sketches (4 artists) and I think I have to quit...  It's a great set, and I really like what I see (and I LOVE the books AND movie), but I'm pretty much broke (again)....

I think I'm only getting 1-2 cards from GOFU considering Memorable Moments is coming out.  What POOR POOR planning on Artbox's part to put out so many Harry Potter sets in one year...

A lot of people have been complaining to Artbox about that.  Whether they listen is another story.  Memorable Moments might come out at the end of this month or might be pushed into next month (per the customer service department), and then Chamber of Secrets is scheduled for August! :o  Talk about killing the HP franchise.  But that's a discussion for another thread. ;)

I agree.  Between GOFU, Firefly, Oz, and to come - Star Trek 40th anniv., HP Memorable moments, LOST, I'm really low on funds.  In fact my Paypal acccount is officially at 0 $ !  
I'm waiting for a cooling off period to have time to replenish my fun money but these good sets just keep coming and coming.
I'm collecting only Rich Molinelli's 5 sketch cards from OZ although I would LOVE to have a lot more!  You got a good deal on the color Scarecrow BTW, Tialessa!  I should have bid again!  ;)

Okay, now I am really confused.  I don't mean to be a pest, but I guess I am still learning how things work.

I just placed a post under the appropriate "Card Trading" section, and yep, it appeared at the top of the page just fine.  I went back a few minutes later to refresh the page and see how long a topic generally stays at the top - and it disappeared completely (and nowhere else - page after page)!  Just to make sure I wasn't being stupid, I went into my profile to check on the last post(s) I had made, and it isn't there at all!   :o  Was my post (and all record of it) removed for some reason?  If so, wouldn't I have been told about it?  I placed it in the correct section, so I wonder what I did wrong?

I think the only "cooling off" period is one that will be self-enforced. :-\  Unless things change (i.e. hit the lottery), I'm planning to pass on Star Trek, CSI( Las Vegas) Series 3, and Chamber of Secrets, other than to buy a couple of inserts on eBay.

I received my case of Wizard of Oz wooden boxes today, and here are my pulls. 8)  There are four new 3x5 prop cards and numerous 3x5 sketch cards by various artists exclusive to the wooden boxes.  I pulled three out of the four prop cards, I'm missing the Cowardly Lion Hair.

Finally got around to getting hold of 4 boxes of this product after my mom found out about them, well it will be a little treat for her for helping to sort out the numerous cases of other sets I have had over the years.  ;D

I have 4 of the regular boxes on the way, the wooden boxes look pretty good value but I was struggling to find out exactly what the odds were of pulling the various inserts where the original boxes seemed pretty well loaded judging by peoples breakdowns.
I will post my breakdows and hopefully scans to share my findings.

I was told that each wooden box case (12 boxes) contains 5-6 premium cards.  A premium card is a 3x5 sketch or a 3x5 prop card.  My case that I opened happened to have 5 premium cards, 3 props and 2 sketch cards.

WOW, thats interesting sounds good value on the Woden boxes considering it is only 120 packs worth. Got to say I love sketch cards so am really looking forward to seeing what I find.

I just cracked a case of the wooden boxes. My breakdown included six (6) premium cards. As compared to Anna's, I pulled the Lion but not the scarecrow, the same Czop Dorothy, and two of the Henderson coloured scarecrow sketches. Other cards I received in the packs included a Maren auto, 3 or 4 Before & After chase cards plus puzzle, witch, & Toto chase cards. I think that relative to the total # of cards/packs, the bonus cards are quite plentiful. And as an Extra bonus you do get 12 wooden boxes. Now all I need to figure out is what to store the 3x5 Yellow Brick Road prop cards in. Any ideas?

Would they fit into the 2 or 4 page pockets?

I put my 3x5 cards (still in their toploaders) into 2-pocket pages.  You had much better pulls than I did chico.  I didn't pull any B&A cards, but I also got a Mickey Carrol auto.

I think they're selling for less than that now. :-\  There's one auction that ended unsold earlier this month with an opening bid of $119.
