: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : Roz January 12, 2006, 10:34:48 PM 45 Card Basic Set
5 Costume Cards (1 From Each Movie) Packed inside a wooden Trunk Box Each Set will be numbered out of 1000. Shipping End of March How will they have a costume from the 5th movie by March :o?? Apparently they have 9 different sets planned for this year - looks like they are going to flood us with different sets! : Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : kbmum January 12, 2006, 10:39:34 PM How will they have a costume from the 5th movie by March :o??! It starts filming in February, so it's possible Artbox could have a costume. Maybe they'll get "material used in the making of," though. :-\ Any word on a price? Nine different sets -- Would that be GOFU, COS, plus seven trunk sets? : Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : tialessa January 12, 2006, 10:54:56 PM That sounds pretty cool!
: Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : Roz January 12, 2006, 11:03:01 PM Rumours around $50.
It could be a costume used in the making of. I think it's unlikely they'll be sure that they don't need to do any re-takes only by March!! I'd say they'd need the costume at Artbox by Feb :P : Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : kbmum January 12, 2006, 11:03:53 PM This is one more chance for Artbox to rectify a major oversight with both POA sets and finally produce a Sirius costume. After all, how can you have a "Prisoner of Azkaban" set and not have a costume card for the "Prisoner?"
Five costume cards for $50 sounds like a good deal. :) : Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : emmafan January 12, 2006, 11:32:19 PM After all, how can you have a "Prisoner of Azkaban" set and not have a costume card for the "Prisoner?" I do agree completely with you Cindy, as I have complaints about many of Artbox's oversights. But I think in the case of Sirius, a character who wore the same costume throughout the film, Artbox may be justified in excluding a costume card. It is possible that Sirius's costume (and by all appearences their was a singular costume) was not put up for auction by Warner Brothers. This would seem reasonable if the company planned on using the costume in flashback scenes in future films. I am just assuming that if Warner Brothers did not put the costume up for auction, for whatever reason, then Artbox would have no chance of obtaining it. Now if Artbox was unable to contract Gary Oldman to sign Autograph cards, then I would have some major grievences. But perhaps this is the best that Artbox was able to do as far as including 'Prisoner' memorabilia. But if so, then that begs the question.....why produce two PRISONER of Azkaban sets?/?/ : Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : EmmasOneandOnly January 13, 2006, 02:51:36 AM Oh goodness :-X Another set I have to get ::)
Speaking of a Sirius/Gary card what do you think they'll all be :-\ : Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : emmafan January 13, 2006, 03:13:44 AM If they are choosing one costume card for each movie, I would hope that each is extremely significant. Not another, random student robe number 258.
Apparently they have 9 different sets planned for this year - looks like they are going to flood us with different sets! I can't imagine how they will put together 9 different sets without comprimising quality. Let me think- 1. GoFU 2. CoS 3. SS Wooden set (is it possible that these wooden sets are included within the 9?) 4. CoS Wooden set 5. The set described above limited to 1000 with 5 costume cards Then what could they possibly do to make FOUR more sets??? Perhaps....they plan to release several more of these limited to 1000 sets. Other sets could contain 5 prop peices or 5 autographs, one from each movie. Just a thought.... : Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : HPfamily January 13, 2006, 04:03:22 AM AW MAN!! ::) ::) See Roz!!! I told you it's never ending!! :P
Don't get me wrong, I love to see all sorts of HP stuff, but 9 within a year? >:() My bank account doesn't like the looks of this!! ::) : Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : Trey January 13, 2006, 04:05:41 AM Do u know when orders will start? And who we can order through...im interested in this one depending on the final price.
: Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : Morningangel-Iola January 13, 2006, 04:23:33 AM Oh dear your determinded to help me send my money ;D ::)
: Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : EmmasOneandOnly January 13, 2006, 04:50:16 AM Apparently they have 9 different sets planned for this year - looks like they are going to flood us with different sets! The 9 different sets could be GoFU This Trunk set Gof Trunk Set CoS CoS Trunk Set PoA Trunk SS Trunk Set and 2 other ones currently with no information. That does seem like to much to bring out right now ::) : Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : beckham1 January 13, 2006, 10:08:30 AM Although this trunk set sounds interesting and the fact that it is limited to 1000 sets could create a "need to get it" frenzy we should proceed with caution until more info is released. It all depends on the costumes they put in it. It could be 5 robe cards that are just rehashed and #'d to 1000. To me that wouldn't be very exciting. We know that they can produce at least 2900 pieces out of some costumes (like the Lupin jacket from POAU). Of course some are likely smaller than that, but some of the costumes already used can probably be rehashed and have plenty of material left for 1000 cards.
If Artbox is like sportscard companies they always figure out a way to use all the material to maximize the return on investment. The costumes are like money just sitting there. I will probably make sure I get one, but I am a little concerned that it will be repeat material, just packaged in a new pretty set. Put some lipstick on that pig  After that buffy collection wooden coffin set (I think that is what it was called) Inkworks did :P That was a big overpriced piece of wooden crap IMO. And I think they hyped it by saying there was only going to be 399 of them or something like that. Of course there weren't any costume cards, so that could make a big difference and the Buffy thing was like $299 I think so it isn't a very good comparison ::) : Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : EmmasOneandOnly January 13, 2006, 10:51:57 AM I'm also a little worried it will be old costumes pieces. But, I still want to know which 5 they will use. There are about a dozen characters in each movie so there is a few costumes to chose from...the only problem will be which ones ???
: Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : Roz January 13, 2006, 06:25:40 PM Although this trunk set sounds interesting and the fact that it is limited to 1000 sets could create a "need to get it" frenzy I don't think so. I don't think there are 1000 hardcore collectors out there. Otherwise the /95 props from GoF would be worth more. I think it should do ok because 1000 isn't a vast number, but I don't think they'll be in short supply : Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : kbmum January 13, 2006, 06:41:00 PM Nine releases in one year is more than my wallet can bear. :-\ If Artbox goes through with this, I'll be waiting as long as possible before pre-ordering anything (even the GOFU and COS releases), hoping to get as much info as possible so I can best decide where my "card money" should be spent.
: Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : Roz January 13, 2006, 07:33:34 PM I'm with you on this one. If Artbox release more sets then they won't instantly have more collectors, and most of us won't be able to spend any more money on cards than we would do otherwise. It will just be that the same money will have to stretch further. I fear another PoAU (too much all at once) fiasco coming on - that incident put off collectors in their droves, (I know people who say that they "got bored" with Potter at the PoAU stage).
I still think they need to tread carefully and diversify - at the moment the only strong license they have is Potter, Doom was a bit 'doomed' from the start - a license like that won't take off unless you bother to tell people what's in it - get them interested and on board early on. There were too many other interesting sets to collect at that time and because people hadn't heard about it - people hadn't budgetted for it. Even though Potter is strong, it still needs careful nurturing after the PoA disaster. It was a great looking set, but the cards were spread too thinly and were too mass produced. Boxes sell in the UK for LESS THAN HALF THE WHOLESALE (25 cases plus) PRICE. : Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : rns91294 January 13, 2006, 10:37:15 PM I think it will be nice, especially since ach will have 5 costumes, but we really do need more info. I think this, GOFu, and COS would be plenty for one year. Otherwise, I, like Cindy, will be waiting to get as much info as possible before placing pre-orders. This will not make me spend more money...I can't. So instead, I take my money and put it where I want it.
: Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : Bryanjs14 January 14, 2006, 12:32:34 AM Dumb question, but did they say 9 Potter sets this year? Or just 9 sets?
Couple of them could easily be other licences..... : Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : kbmum January 14, 2006, 12:40:29 AM According to the upcoming release section at NSU, Artbox will have 13 different releases in 2006, including 5 HP sets, Zorro, Frankenstein, Corpse Bride, and Dracula. The five HP sets listed are: GOFU, Sorcerer's Stone wooden box set, Chamber of Secrets wooden box set, Chamber of Secrets (regular set), and literary art set (foil packs).
: Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : emmafan January 14, 2006, 01:05:46 AM According to the upcoming release section at NSU......The five HP sets listed are: GOFU, Sorcerer's Stone wooden box set, Chamber of Secrets wooden box set, Chamber of Secrets (regular set), and literary art set (foil packs). I think that seems very reasonable. The wooden box sets are supplementary to the regular sets and don't involve a hugh monetary investment (as far as we know at this point). If this is the extent of Artbox's Harry Potter licensed releases for 2006, collectors shouldn't be too overwhelmed. That is as long as the product quality does not drop. On a side note, do you think we can expect a SSU or a CoSU? I'm sure Artbox will want to saturate the market and get every ounce out of the HP license as they can. But I doubt if they will be able to aquire much more SS memorabilia. Just a thought.... : Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : kbmum January 14, 2006, 01:43:51 AM I'm not positive, but I believe there won't be update sets for SS or COS. The reason for releasing an update set is that often a movie studio doesn't want certain images released right away (like Fienne's Voldemort), so the images are excluded from the first set and included in the update. SS and COS came out so long ago that this isn't a problem.
: Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : Sharon January 14, 2006, 02:10:08 AM Oh dear I really hope Artbox don't release too many sets this year. Like everyone else I only have a set budget for cards so it will be a case of missing some sets rather than spending more money.
I reckon if Artbox spread the sets apart and leave some until next year they would have much better sales and they would also have plenty of time to make sure the sets are totally amazing. I mean it is not like HP is going out of fashion - with a new book at least 18 months away and three more films the HP franchise has a lot of life in it yet. Better to keep people interested and able to afford the cards rather than alienate the collectors by pricing them out of the market. : Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : Bryanjs14 January 14, 2006, 02:22:07 AM One set we have forgotten about is the Artbox literary set. According to Non Sport Update, they still plan to produce that.
: Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : EmmasOneandOnly January 14, 2006, 02:45:13 AM Do we need another art set anyways ::) We already have the very colorfull Mary GrandPre set.
I agree with Sharon, we still have three more movies so that means three more sets, possibly six counting an Update, for the next 5 years to come so why rush to get all this out now. I think GoFU and CoS should come out this year and next year the trunk sets with the OotP set and Update and so on.... : Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : Roz January 14, 2006, 02:49:55 AM Do we need another art set anyways ::) We already have the very colorfull Mary GrandPre set. Indeed and it can't be complete since the 7th book won't be out in time. It's just another way to milk the cash cow. Will we be taken in? I don't think so. I'll give any more art sets a miss before the release of the final book. : Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : Taichi January 27, 2006, 05:00:34 AM So this is gonna be a "Movie Poster" set, eh?
prolly cards featuring the international posters for each movie.......45 cards?, that'd be 7 cards per movie, if they have the posters for Order of the Phoenix ready by then.......can't see how that'd be possible tho, considering these are slated for March, and OOTP isn't slated for theaters until 2k7 5 costume cards for $50 ain't a bad deal.......and I wouldn't worry about 'material used in the making', they make SEVERAL duplicate costumes for every wardrobe change, just in case..... : Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : Taichi January 27, 2006, 06:43:17 AM anybody got any pics of this?, I just wanna see how it comes packaged, etc.
: Re: Harry Potter Poster Trading Card Trunk Set : EmmasOneandOnly January 27, 2006, 07:10:58 AM I dont think we have much information then whats posted :-\
