: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : kbmum January 07, 2006, 03:48:34 AM This didn't fit in any one of the HP card threads, so I'm putting it here. There's a new auction for a hobby box from each of the 4 HP releases:

: Re: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : beckham1 January 07, 2006, 05:01:03 AM Price is a little higher than I would pay for those four boxes total, but for someone who hasn't purchased any boxes of HP yet it might be a nice auction.
: Re: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : Roz January 07, 2006, 05:04:28 AM Perhaps, but Goblet boxes really are pretty hard to come across these days for the kind of price we like to pay for things (near release price ;)), PoA are very rare, although there's suddenly been quite a few on ebay lately but prior to the GoF release there hadn't been a box on for months. There's still plenty of PoAU around and Tom seems to have a fair bit of SS up on auction too.
All in all it's a nice collection to own... I wonder how long it will be before they are all opened? : Re: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : emmafan January 07, 2006, 05:08:22 AM I purchased an auction several weeks ago for one box each of - POAU, SS, and GoF. This was a perfect auction for me because I had only opened 2 boxes of POAU prior. The BIN price for the auction I won was 170$ +14$ US Dollars tax. So this would be much of the same, only throwing in the POA box for an extra 130$.
I have to tell you guys, I am really considering purchasing this one. After that triple box purchase, I have been looking for another auction similar so that I could get a nice diversity of boxes. With a little goading, and as long as no one else is looking into purchasing this....I might go ahead and hit the BIN tonight..... :o :o : Re: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : HPfamily January 07, 2006, 05:12:56 AM Perhaps, but Goblet boxes really are pretty hard to come across these days for the kind of price we like to pay for things (near release price ) I agree!! I think it's a pretty reasonable price!! : Re: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : Nienna January 07, 2006, 06:00:54 AM I noticed this auction earlier this evening - very attractive I thought and the price wasn't as outlandish as some I've seen on ebay for sealed hobby boxes.
If you do decide to hit the button, you'll have to tell us what you pull when you get them! ;) ;D : Re: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : emmafan January 07, 2006, 06:25:26 AM Cindy, after seeing your post, I thought about the auction over dinner, and that was enough to convince myself.
Well, what can I say, other than I can be quite compulsive at times. I couldn't resist the BIN button, it was just too easy - So I went ahead and grabbed up Tom's auction really quickly. simple equation that I have learned recently :ebay: = >:D I'll be sure to let everyone know what I pull after I open'em up! : Re: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : kbmum January 07, 2006, 06:27:24 AM Good luck!
: Re: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : Nienna January 07, 2006, 06:31:20 AM HAHAHA!! Guess the other thing you've also learned is that when you see something good it's best to grab it quickly before someone else does! ::) ;)
You're right though ... :ebay: = >:D Good luck with your *new* boxes!! ;D : Re: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : HPfamily January 07, 2006, 07:16:55 AM simple equation that I have learned recently :ebay: = >:D     OH SO TRUE!!!!! : Re: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : LikORish-Spider January 07, 2006, 10:02:52 AM Auction was only 7 hours. What took you so long?
I think the price was right. Now pull a Dumbledore, a Triple, a Ron Redemption and a Headless NicK Auto. : Re: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : emmafan January 07, 2006, 12:17:15 PM Now pull a Dumbledore, a Triple, a Ron Redemption and a Headless NicK Auto. Don't we all wish it was that easy?... But, still I need all the good vibes I can get (particularly for the Triple! :o=) I imagine Tom wouldn't be too happy if those four cards were pulled out of four single boxes like that either, HA. : Re: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : emmafan January 07, 2006, 12:27:54 PM Tom has posted another auction if anyone else is interested.

Can someone tell me how many different boxes (as in sets) there are of these, and also, what is a reasonable price i should pay for a box?
: Re: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : emmafan January 09, 2006, 11:36:11 AM Can someone tell me how many different boxes (as in sets) there are of these The sets released for the Harry Potter films by Artbox (and thus all Hobby Boxes) include- Prisoner of Azkaban (Released June 2004) Prisoner of Azkaban Update (Released November 2004) Sorceror's Stone (Released June 2005) Goblet of Fire (Released November 2005) It is expected that a Goblet of Fire Update set will be released in June of 2006 what is a reasonable price i should pay for a box? The YakShack operates a member run Price Guide, which tracks data from ebay auctions to approximate 'market value' of specific cards and boxes. To reach the Price Guide, please click on the link at the top of the screen or go here - http://www.theyakshack.co.uk/tradingcards/index.php?page=setlist For more detailed information, feel free to ask around, or PM anyone. Also, I encourage you to check out the specific forum threads for each set. : Re: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : kbmum January 09, 2006, 06:32:59 PM Just a few edits to the above post: :)
POA released May 2004 SS released May 2005 The GOF Update set is expected to be released in March (per an email I received from Artbox). Time to start saving! ;) : Re: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : Anna January 11, 2006, 12:58:12 AM Good luck with your pulls Aaron! :o= Please let us know what you get. :)
: Re: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : emmafan January 11, 2006, 09:22:59 AM Last one apparently, for anyone that is interested....
http://cgi.ebay.com/HARRY-POTTER-GOBLET-AZKABAN-SORCERERS-UPDATE-BOXES_W0QQitemZ6243531074QQcategoryZ219QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem : Re: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : kbmum January 11, 2006, 09:31:25 AM Why is that auction the last one?
: Re: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : emmafan January 11, 2006, 09:36:15 AM From what I understand (rumors, rumors... ;)) Tom only had six sets that he was posting on ebay. The first five have already sold, and now this is the sixth one he has posted. Because these have sold fairly well, I can imagine that Tom (or other deals for that matter) would probably try to arrange similar auctions. But, for now, this is the last one Tom will be posting.
: Re: auction for hobby boxes from all 4 HP releases : Roz January 11, 2006, 04:25:42 PM I wonder how many PoA boxes will turn up from now on. I have to say, finding a box now is a pretty awesome find, by the time the series ends they will be rarer than hens teeth. It's all interesting stuff anyway, I have my fingers crossed for your boxes Aaron
