March 7th?  I guess that is on schedule, but for some reason I had been expecting later.  I hope they take some time and include some goodies and don't rush it out too much.

Same here ::) The goodies on SS, CoS, and PoA have been ok but I want some change, and not just with adding director commentary

I was surprised that they didn't put out any more 'special' editions of the DVDs.  It seems that that most companies have been really milking DVD releases recently by putting out a regular edition and then releasing a special edition several months later.  With the abundance of loyal HP followers, I'm sure they could get away with doing so and then reaping the benefits from many people purchasing both.  I know that they have released a double disc set every time, but each one has really left me wanting much more.  However, I'm sure that we can expect a set that will be nearly identical to the last three.   

I'd like them to do like Lord of the Rings and release Extended Special Editions. Then again. I'd hate to have two copys of the same DVD and I could never wait 10 months to get my hands on it :P

I wouldn't mind WB doing what RoTS did and have every single commercial and trailer included!!

They made a mistake, Warner Bros. said they will release updated Special Edition ones after the release of all of the films and DVDs. Thats was on MuggleNet

I do hope that they will release many of them again with updated material.  From the sounds of it, they plan on recording some commentaries (which I always enjoy and am now very much looking forward to the GOF DVD).  But if they are going to repackadge the movies, I would hope that they think to include a bit more material than just the commentaries.  If they get lazy, I can envision a several disc "boxed" set, including the first four movies with "updated director commentaries".

They wouldn't release any real information on it at the moment. For PoA, if I recall correctly, we got a full list of things on the DVD about 2 weeks or so before the actual release of the DVD itself. I'm praying for bloopers. I've only ever seen one actual filming blooper but I cant find it online anymore if its still up. I'm also wanting some more behind-the-scenes footage, I don't really want interviews with the creators, have that separate. I'd really like a REAL behind-the-scenes look with footage filmed right off the set, like they showed in the UK last week. I like the style of the interviews on the PoA DVD so I hope they also have fun, lively interviews as well.

According to The Leaky Cauldron, Warner Home Video will release the DVD on April 11. :)

HD DVDs cant work on ordinary DVD players like so many DVDs available today. HD makes you feel like your in the movie. I just say turn the volume up ;) :rofl:

Probably, the March 11 rumor of the standard DVD being release hasnt been confimed yet but it might be the actual release date

I wouldn't expect that they would release different formats on different days.  Companys love to promote the big 'first day on dvd' for their blockbuster films.

However, the process of compressing the film and burning it on the HD-DVD discs might delay the release. 

On the side, which technology do you guys think is going to make it- HD or Blu-Ray.  I'm putting my money on Blu-Ray.  From what I understand, Warner Brothers has backed HD, but several other companies are entirely boycotting it in favor of the sony created Blu-Ray.

The official release date for the standard DVD (just the movie, no special features disc), the Special Edition silver foil DVD (movie and special features discs), and the 8 disc pack of all four 2 disc movies is March 7th 2006 and both MuggleNet and Veritaserum has a promotion video of the Special Edition DVD ;D

The release of the DVD in the UK is March 20th with a retail price of £24.99 and have a different cover then the US DVD :)

I think Warners is being pretty low on this one......

there's a barebones version, which is just the movie, and then there's a deluxe two-disc version.....

I have SEVERAL Warners Deluxe sets, and they are always very nice, but why break up tradition now?, Stone, Chamber, and Prisoner were all done as 2-disc sets, and now the 2-disc set is the 'special' one?

which means, if i don't get it on release night, I don't get it, because they ALWAYS Under-Order them in my area, and the only movie places around, will overcharge if I don't buy it the night it comes out.......

I won't settle for a 1-disc barebones edition, not on this one......Azkaban was SLIGHTLY better, but Goblet was a thrill ride, and a fantastic cinematic experience (it's not as deep as Return of the King, but it's a damn good movie nonetheless).....

I had a hard time finding the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 2-disc edition, I don't wanna have the same problem with Goblet.......

In my Wal-Mart flyer it has a picture of the DVD paired up with a free Scene It sample DVD.  Anyone else see that?

Target supposidly has a Target exclusive lenticular or 3-d type cover on the two disc version.  And Circuit City is giving away a free lithograph with each purchase.

To bad Best Buy isnt giving away anything free ::)

I've seen lots of movies have 3D type covers when they come out like The Day after Tomorrow but they are only limited.

I got mine 8) my mom surprised me with it just a few minutes ago ;D I definitely wont be on the Yak Shack long ;) :rofl:

On a side note, to add to the promotional giva-ways for the DVD, Best Buy is giving away promo pins like the employees would wear on their shirts or their I.D. holder

We went to Wal-Mart. I chose the special edition rather than the Scene It package set. It was a few dollars more, but worth it!! I already have Scene It. Plus, I don't think the Scene It set had the 2 DVD's in it!  :-\

It didn't.  I looked at the different options at Wal-Mart this morning.  I also chose the 2-disc special edition. :)

This morning I volunteered in his classroom. The teacher was reading a book to them and she said something about one of the characters in the story doing a task! My son interupted the teacher and told her "That's just like Harry Potter!! He has tasks!! He has three of them!!"  :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:
She didn't quite know what to say!! I just sat there and laughed!!!

My mum picked u the DVD for me today, but it was only the Fullscreen addition.
What special features does the 2-Disc one have on it?

I have watched 20 mins of it just now, and there is no sub menu saying "special features"

The special features on the DVD are cut into 4 sections: Hogwarts Castle, Dragon Arena, The Lake, and the Maze.

Hogwarts Castle features are
Additional Scenes - these are ran on one reel unlike the ability to chose like the other 3 DVDS
Preparing for the Yule Ball - a documentary on how they created and filming the Yule Ball
Conversations with the Cast - interviews with Dan, Em, and Rup
Reflections on the Fourth Film - a documentary about the cast during filming
theatrical trailer and DVD-Rom features

Dragon Arena are
Dragon Challenge - game
Harry vs. the horntail: The First Task - documentary on creating the sequence and dragon.
Meet the Champions - documentary on Stan, Clem, and Robert

The lake are
Lake Challenge - game
In Too Deep: The Second Task - documentary on the creation of the Second Task

all the Triwizard Games (not including the graveyard game) can be played back to back by selecting one and then clicking the Triwziard Cup after the narrator finishes!! If all are watches and played it should be around 3 hour of content. I have yet to finish the graveyard game which is the trickest out of them all ;D Enjoy!

Wait, the one disc version has NO extra features :o?  That just doesn't seem right.  You would think the deleted scenes would at least be on it.

The standard Wide and Fullscreen versions have no extra special features disc, only the Special Edition ::)

I opened my 2-disc edition this morning and was surprised to see that the only paperwork inside was an ad for Noble Collection items.  Did anyone receive a sheet that lists the DVD contents and each scene?  There was one with POA, and it really helps when I need to skip certain scenes that will scare my kids.

There was no little insert in the 1-Disc version either.
Usually they have the chapters listed etc, with some nice pictures  :P

Yeah, I know. ::)  We decided to sit down as a family and watch it together, so we have to do it during the weekend.  I'm disappointed that there's no sheet with the scenes listed, but at least now I won't make a fool of myself by trying to return the DVD to Wal-Mart. ::)

Hey, I have to watch out for my reputation. ;)  The people at my local post office think I'm a pain in the backside with all of the packages I receive and send. ::)  I can't have Wal-Mart thinking that, too!

My poor mailman has me as the first delivery on his route when he does my street.  He parks his truck across the the street from my house so he can drop off all the parcels/padded envelopes off so he doesn't have to carry them all around the block while making his other deliveries. :-[

Ha ha - once again we're all a world apart but our lives are the same. My postman could *almost* be relied upon as an alarm clock because he knocks on the door like he has to wake someone deaf who lives in a mansion ;D I'm often sitting not too far from the door on the laptop and it scares the life out of me :rofl:

Well I got my copy on Wednesday but have only gone through the second disc so far.  I was disappointed with the deleted scenes - I am sure there is a lot more they could put in and I would love a bloopers reel, but alas not this time  :(

The little games are great although I am struggling on the maze (Sharon struggling on a game, what's new  :rofl: ).  The little featurettes are fantastic and make the whole film making process look like one big laugh.  I do wish they had put chapters in some of the longer ones though.

Well onto the film next  ;D  And yes Dawn it totally sucks that the region 2 one isn't out yet.  For the life of me I can't see why they didn't do a world wide release.

My postman thinks I am nuts.  We accidentally dropped of about 25 Christmas cards in our drop box outside (it is locked, so once the mail is in, you can't get it out) and realized we forgot the stamps!!  The next morning, I waited for him to come so I could get them back and put stamps on them before he left :P

But, back to the topic, I was a bit dissapointed with the deleted scenes as well, although the first one was pretty funny.

I also liked the games and the process of the making of the film.  However, this time, you get an interview with the three main kids.  I think the last one actually interviewed multiple characters, and I would have liked to see that again too.

The DVD comes out here in Oz TOMORROW!! Can't wait...all I can see through pre-orders on the net is a two disc edition available...no one disc..but it may change as stock arrives in stores.

The only difference I think is that the JBHi-Fi one has the special lenticular insert...apart from that they all look like 2-disc special editions...havent found any one-disc's yet.

Went to my local JB store today and they did indeed have a special edition with a lenticular cover. Its Harry with his wand and I think when you move it it becomes Harry on his broom with the Hungarian Horntail close behind. Pretty cool and I couldnt find any other special editions at any other stores so I think I might go ahead and pick this edition up tomorrow.  :)

oh, i didnt know about the lenticular cover. I got mine at Kmart, it came in an extra slip cover, by the sound of it with the same pic as the JB lenticular cover; harry in the bottom corner holding his wand up, horntail up the top...

I just got mine from Big w yesterday, just the normal one, no extras...and I watched it last night! I HAD to of course  :o

I havent had time to watch it yet, i think tomorrow night will be the night (gotta watch lost tonight)

I think I've watched it about 50 time already...if not, I'm getting there :rofl:

I also got the poster the movie came with at Suncoast, you can get them for free and I also clamed the GoF and Narnia DVD stands and posters and I get it all for free after they are done using it ^-^

My god sister and I watched all the Harrys end to end on saturday  :o

I want to do that, I did one time when I was sick because I had nothing better to do but I really didn't see much of them because the pillow looked so nice :rofl:

Lol well I will admit to falling asleep during one and Kerry (my godsister) fell asleep during 4. We started about 3.15 and finished about 12.15

I'd get up and start early because I'd porbably stay up all night watching them :-X
