: For the politically correct at Christmas time : mcgonagall December 23, 2005, 09:07:07 AM If you dont think the traditoinal message of Happy Christmas is
politically correct enough...... then try this version....... Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral, celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious / secular persuasions and / or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all . . . ... and a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2006, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make this country great, (not to imply that this country is necessarily greater than any other country), and without regard to the race, creed, colour, age, physical ability, religious faith, choice of computer platform, or sexual preference of the wishee. (By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms. This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her / himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year, or until the issuance of subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.) mmmmm let me know what you think lol : Re: For the politically correct at Christmas time : grecopa December 23, 2005, 11:21:33 AM A very merry CHRISTMAS to everyone! ;)

Nice one Mrs McG : Re: For the politically correct at Christmas time : sketchqueen December 23, 2005, 10:04:43 PM I prefer the much simpler, far less politically correct, Merry Christmas :)
May you all have a wonderful holiday season and I look forward to spending an enjoyable 2006 with all of you (virtually speaking of course, should you all show up at my house, I'm not entirely sure what I'd do *lol* : Re: For the politically correct at Christmas time : Nienna December 24, 2005, 02:30:54 AM I prefer the much simpler, far less politically correct, Merry Christmas :) May you all have a wonderful holiday season and I look forward to spending an enjoyable 2006 with all of you (virtually speaking of course, should you all show up at my house, I'm not entirely sure what I'd do *lol* Awwwwww so we can't all drop by for Christmas tea then!?! *sniff* :'( O-o-o-o-n-n-n-n-ly kidding!! ;) ;D I'm all for being non-PC and I really find the 'Happy holidays' greeting so bland and unseasonal to be almost offensive - because people are now so frightened of upsetting non-Christians ... who for the most part don't care one way or the other, that they're unable to say 'Merry Christmas' without feeling guilty! Ridiculous!! :-\ Still ... Merry Christmas ... Happy Holidays ... it doesn't matter - we ALL know the kind thoughts behind the good wishes and it makes for a refereshing change to be able to pass on the Seasons Greetings properly to other Forum members from around the world! YAY!! :-* ;D Marcia - that was a classic piece of gobbledegook and I'll pass it on to a few well-chosen |
