Erm, it says in the title - Mark and his work colleagues!

We could have re-done it with Yak Shacker's faces, but we'd probably have got Mark into trouble at work ;)

also....how many scores can u submit? can you submit a few times or do you put one in and if you end up going better then too bad, you cant send it in?

: Re: Snowball the Webmaster (and his colleagues) AND WIN MANY AWESOME PRIZES
: grecopa December 22, 2005, 09:53:32 AM
Joanna, press the print screen button (PrtScn), then go to photoshop or whatever.  Select new from the FILE dropdown munu.  Click OK for the new file.  Press Ctrl, Alt, V buttons at the same time and it will pop up.  That's how my Photoshop works.  Maybe it's similar for other programs too.

: Re: Snowball the Webmaster (and his colleagues) AND WIN MANY AWESOME PRIZES
: Roz December 22, 2005, 05:52:55 PM
Yeah go on - submit as many as you like but only submit another if you get a better score, you will enter only once (with your best score).

:)

: Re: Snowball the Webmaster (and his colleagues) AND WIN MANY AWESOME PRIZES
: banditwolf December 22, 2005, 08:12:02 PM
try holding the 'Ctrl key' and press 'Print Screen'. That will copy the screen image so that it can be pasted in paint or whatever program.

I'll try that tonight! Thanks :)

I just hit "print screen" and paste into Word - that works for now at least.

Think the highest I got was 26...

Be encouraged - I topped out at around 13  ;D  It is that rotter in the trees on the left that gets me everytime! |:#

I will withdraw that then - the highest score I got was 17 2.

Don't worry, someone who shall remain nameless (at Mark's work) was TERRIBLE, she couldn't even get 2

I shall not name them in case Black Pig notice a bit of traffic coming from here onto their site and follow the link back to here... and stop inviting me out to dinners and things

: Re: Snowball the Webmaster (and his colleagues) AND WIN MANY AWESOME PRIZES

My high score yesterday was about 360...

: blackcat20 December 23, 2005, 04:41:44 AM
are you serious???!!!  :o

I think my problem is that Im on a laptop, with a touch pad mouse...really hard to move fast enough (thats my excuse anyway  ;D)

: Re: Snowball the Webmaster (and his colleagues) AND WIN MANY AWESOME PRIZES
: Tower December 23, 2005, 04:43:17 AM
I had no problems to reach more than 200, but then i lost the patience.

In my opinion it's a tiny little bit too easy. So it's not a question of skill, it's more a question of endurance, concentration and a lot of patience.  ::)  But a lovely idea.  :D

To be fair when I was playing it there were only 20 snowballs available ;), now it's a different game :)

: Re: Snowball the Webmaster (and his colleagues) AND WIN MANY AWESOME PRIZES
: matthea December 23, 2005, 05:48:05 AM
Wow! 360 and 200! That's so much. My best was 34 and  thought I was doing well
The falling snow seems to slow down my computer so, nearly as quick as I see the people pop up, there is already snow in my face!

: Re: Snowball the Webmaster (and his colleagues) AND WIN MANY AWESOME PRIZES
: blackcat20 December 23, 2005, 05:50:56 AM
my best was 21  :'( i blame it on the lap top mouse...ill have to try again when I get home...

: Re: Snowball the Webmaster (and his colleagues) AND WIN MANY AWESOME PRIZES
: Trey December 23, 2005, 05:52:05 AM
You need to have the patience and the time to sit there and do it....its not hard once you get the hang of it..like Tower said, it just takes patience

: Re: Snowball the Webmaster (and his colleagues) AND WIN MANY AWESOME PRIZES
: Roz December 23, 2005, 06:10:04 AM
Yes - Mark also improved the cursor, it was sluggish and slow at first, which I suppose made it like lugging a big gun from one area to another, so now it's a test of patience.

: Re: Snowball the Webmaster (and his colleagues) AND WIN MANY AWESOME PRIZES
: beckham1 December 23, 2005, 06:45:35 AM
I think there must be a few variables I was having a hard time getting my mouse to move the cursor fast enough.  Also Trey and Thomas are you using a joystick?

: Re: Snowball the Webmaster (and his colleagues) AND WIN MANY AWESOME PRIZES
: banditwolf December 23, 2005, 07:00:12 AM
i got 82 on my 6th try this morning, and stopped to wait to see what others had got. I'm using a regular ball mouse. I think it just takes time. I play video games all the time so aiming is no big deal to me. I haven't had any problems getting it to move fast enough.

: Re: Snowball the Webmaster (and his colleagues) AND WIN MANY AWESOME PRIZES
: Tower December 23, 2005, 07:02:55 AM
I'm using a usual optical mouse.

I think there must be a few variables I was having a hard time getting my mouse to move the cursor fast enough.

By the sounds of it you might have been playing the older version of the game. The old version is no longer on the server, it had a much "heavier" mouse movement.

Is this game getting harder?  I was up over 200, now I can't break 50.

: Re: Snowball the Webmaster (and his colleagues) AND WIN MANY AWESOME PRIZES
: blackcat20 December 23, 2005, 09:06:19 AM
Im finally on my home comp, which has a normal mouse, but it wont move fast enough across the game screen; its slow and sluggy...

: Re: Snowball the Webmaster (and his colleagues) AND WIN MANY AWESOME PRIZES
: Tower December 23, 2005, 10:53:41 PM
I really like the idea. So many nice prices, why should all of them go to the same person?  ::)

: Re: Snowball the Webmaster (and his colleagues) AND WIN MANY AWESOME PRIZES

I can't even get over 25 and I am at work with a T-1 connection, my mouse seems to have trouble keeping up :'(  Oh well I will keep trying.  And I am good to pretty good at vid games.

: Tower December 24, 2005, 01:30:32 AM
I love those vid games too, does anybody remember Arkanoid? You can call me the king of Arkanoid and Arkanoid 2.  ;D No joke, i was able to play the whole game with all these 32 levels without losing one single ball. Okay, it worked only once per game, but it worked. :)

This one is similar, you have to move the mouse very fast to a single point. Because of these older experiences i found this game easy. But it's sooo hard to keep the concentration for a longer time, harder than it was in the older days when i was young.  ;)

But now with my third serious attempt, i got a nice result. To be honest, not as much as i wanted, but i was happy when the game was over, my eyes were hurting a little bit. Hard game, Mark.  ::)  I'm not sure if i make another attempt, probably not, i was beginning to hate the game.  ::)

: Re: Snowball the Webmaster (and his colleagues) AND WIN MANY AWESOME PRIZES
: grecopa December 27, 2005, 09:04:19 PM
Well, I actually got 385.  My husband bought me a new optical mouse a few days before and I think it helped a lot.  The key for me was keeping the crosshair in the center of the screen until a person popped up, them moving it back to the center to wait for the next person.  It was really slow until breaking 100, then it got faster and the crosshair "calibrated" and moved normally after that.  After 100 was pretty easy.  Now I just want to know if anyone beat that mark.  :o=  And also I want to make sure that my screenshot went throught the email ok.  :o= :o= :o=

I have been checking here quite often hoping to find the results.

Not that I am complaining, as it is the holiday season.  But this has been such an exciting contest.... I'm itching to see if anyone was able to top my score.

I can't wait to find out either. I had a good score and I too wonder if I was beat or not. :o= I want to find out who won, then find out the scores. I think its much more exciting for me that way.  :o=

Do we have a winner?

We do have a winner, however their entry can't be verified as 100% non-dodgy 'til Mark can get to his office and get access to the data on the server, but yes it's all ended and on Jan 3rd (when Mark's office is open again) we'll have a winner :)

I am positive our winner is geniune, but several members have expressed concern about forged entries and so I'm afraid we will have to wait. I don't believe this winner would try to trick us :)

I am pretty sure I won with my 25 :P  I figured it wasn't worth submitting after I saw someone posted 300+.  I don't think my processor was able to keep up as well as my connection :'(  Oh well good luck to all.

: Re: Snowball the Webmaster (and his colleagues) AND WIN MANY AWESOME PRIZES
: emmafan January 09, 2006, 08:17:22 PM
OH WOW!!!   ;D ;D ;D
I can't even begin to tell you guys how excited I am!!!!
This has been such a fun contest, and the verification process has really made for two weeks of intense anticipation.

I did practice quite a bit to get used to the game.  As someone mentioned earlier, I always kept my cursor in the middle of the screen.  Then, whenever a head popped up, I knew the exact mouse movement to make to target them.  My final score came on a game that lasted fifty minutes straight.  Needless to say, patience and concentration were the two key factors.  Every once in a while, my eyes would focus out and I'd have to shake my head to get back into it  :D.

First and foremost, I would like to thank Tom and Cards Inc. for donating such wonderful cards.  These are the kind of actions that make the YakShack such a great community! I don't own any of the cards that they are offering, but am really excited to add them to my (albeit small) collection.

Thanks to all you guys for making this a tough competition.  I never thought I would be able to pull it out, as I was certain that one of you would be able to top my score.

And thanks to Roz and Mark for setting up another fun YakShack competition, I'm just ecstatic that I was lucky enough to win one ::).  Again, to Mark, thanks for setting up such a fun, simple, yet addictive game.

Aaron

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Congratulations Emmafan  ;D  Just remind me to be on your team if the Yak Shack ever gets snowed in anywhere  ;)

Thanks to everyone concerned for another great competition :)

Congrats Emmafan !!!  :D  :D  :D

1404 is fantastic, you really deserved this price and i know what i'm talking about. I had 857 what is also very good i think. :) Needed almost half an hour for that and was glad, when i lost the 4th life. My eyes started burning a little bit.

But you had luck, i lost one life because my mouse was crazy, one life wasn't my mistake. Who knows what would have happened if not ...  ;D

: Re: Snowball the Webmaster (and his colleagues) AND WIN MANY AWESOME PRIZES

To add to Aaron's bonus, one of the prizes from cards Inc - the Hermione UK case incentive robe, is number 6 of 830. Definitely one of the lowest numbers we have seen. If I remember rightly some very low numbers were sent to people who sent in damaged cards. I also remember Sharon has number 2 of the Privet Drive SS Prop cards.

All the same it's very cool - enjoy!

No scans at the moment I am afraid  :(  But my brother in law who is a web designer has said he will do me a site as soon as I decide on a domain name.  This however is proving easier said than done.  Everything I think of has already been taken, even Mike's suggestion of Troll Patrol  >:()  Who in their right mind would want a web site called Troll Patrol, except me of course  ;)

I am not a huge fan of low numbers, I go by what is on the card and my number two is gorgeous  ;D  And I know this is now totally off topic but since the competition is finished I hope no one minds  :).

Yes, we do mind!

How dare you tell us about your low numbered card with its gorgeous swatch? You are making me go on Ebay again! >:D

Trust me this is one card you will not see on Ebay.   It's mine, all mine  >:D

Actually there has been a lot of really gorgeous cards up lately, the sort we haven't seen for quite a while.  And just when 5 sets are due out :'(
