It makes me want to go get my DVD and watch "The Lost Pearl" again :D I was so happy when I heard that their was going to be three movies to "Pirates of the Carribean" and that Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp are scheduled to be in all three of them ;D
Who knew that a Disney ride could end up being such a fantastic movie  : Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : ferdinand_the_yak November 29, 2005, 02:05:11 PM I wonder what Geoffrey Rush is going to appear as? I assume a ghost...

: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : Morningangel-Iola February 02, 2006, 04:23:19 AM Well from the write up in Empire magazine it sounds great (of course) instead of skellys this time they are fishies, Capt J's beard as tenticles :-\
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : kbmum February 02, 2006, 08:54:30 PM A while back, Johnny Depp was on the Tonight Show and told Jay Leno that they were in negotiations with Keith Richards to play the part of Jack's father. I thought it was for this movie, but that isn't the case. Maybe it's for PotC3?
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : blackcat20 March 17, 2006, 05:28:58 PM Jo, I think this is worth a bit of drooling:

I couldn't find any wallpaper, so I used the pic of Captain Jack running away from the horde of natives instead. It makes me laugh everytime I see it - his expression is priceless! : Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : savage727 March 17, 2006, 05:55:35 PM Hey Jo:

I was also thinking the same thing! Poor Cat, she'll be sick of the sight of Orlando Bloom when she is done  : Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : blackcat20 March 17, 2006, 06:08:22 PM hows this for crazy http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Pirates-of-the-Caribbean-II-Jack-Sparrow-Voodoo-Doll_W0QQitemZ7598774438QQcategoryZ60361QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem :o
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : ferdinand_the_yak March 17, 2006, 06:43:21 PM Nuts! Amazing what some people will do for a buck ::)
Strangely enough, we get PoTC2 a day before it's released in the US... go figure. I think I will still be overseas then... or I might *just* make it! : Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : blackcat20 March 18, 2006, 05:58:00 AM really??? thats great news! :o
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : blackcat20 March 18, 2006, 01:22:02 PM this is a pic of the jack sparrow standee, complete with the pic of him running and screaming :P

WOW!!! I can't wait!!
Wouldn't it be cool if a costume/auto set came out of these films? I'd be all over it!! ;D :o (Yeah, that's what I need...another set to collect!! ::) ) But really!! Wouldn't it be cool?!?! : Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : blackcat20 April 22, 2006, 09:53:49 AM It is a fantastic trailer, and Johnny Depp is hilarious. A card set would be great; imagine the auto and costume line-up....
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : HPfamily April 22, 2006, 09:57:02 AM I am totally hyped for this movie!! I absolutely love Depp!!! :-*
So who should we contact to get a card set going!!   : Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : EmmasOneandOnly April 22, 2006, 09:59:35 AM This trailer was on the Chronicles of Narnia DVD and it made me very excited to go see it. I also cant wait for X3 which was on the DVD as well (but thats another thread ;))
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : blackcat20 May 04, 2006, 05:33:38 PM The proper trailer is now available, and can be located at a heap of websites including comingsoon.net, apple trailers, and the obfiles
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : Sharon June 02, 2006, 02:16:53 AM There was a really long trailer for POTC2 before X Men 3 (that sounds like a football score  ). I am not sure if it is the one on the internet but it looks soooo good ;D ;D ;D
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : Morningangel-Iola June 02, 2006, 02:43:53 AM I saw a good one before the De Vinci code was different from the one on the Narnia DVD
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : iwozframed June 20, 2006, 05:31:10 PM I've just been looking at the official site...
Potc:DMC (http://adisney.go.com/disneypictures/pirates/main.html) And in the Download section with all the Desktop backgrounds there is a button labeled Digital Trading Cards (coming soon) Go figure (maybe they've been spying on the forum (http://www.theyakshack.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=4270.0)) ;) : Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : savage727 June 20, 2006, 05:38:57 PM I saw where POTC2 will be released here in the United States on July 7th! Unfortunately for me I will be in the middle of Glacier National Park in Montana at that time and I know there are not any movie theaters where I am going to be. I will have to wait until I return home to see this much anticipated movie. :)
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : Morningangel-Iola June 21, 2006, 02:05:09 AM I saw it advertised for the 6th July here, we don't get it first do we?
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : blackcat20 June 21, 2006, 05:58:50 AM Australia gets it on the 6th as well, one day before the US. No idea why, but last time we were 3 months later, so its nice to see things going in our direction for a change ;D Got my tickets already, cant wait! 8)
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : Roz June 21, 2006, 07:29:16 PM It must be Thursday previews or something.
It took a while for PoTC 1 to come out here, I guess they had no idea how much of a success it would be ;D : Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : Morningangel-Iola June 22, 2006, 02:48:31 AM I can't wait to see the new one ;D
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : Roz June 30, 2006, 09:38:53 PM Yay - there's a free open air screening of POTC 1 here this weekend ;D and I have my tix booked for POTC 2 next Thurs... I can't wait ;D
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : Sharon July 01, 2006, 12:42:47 AM Oooo you will beat us by a day - we are booked for Friday ;D ;D ;D ;D
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : Roz July 04, 2006, 07:34:58 PM Take a look at these pics from the premiere
http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=19084 By the looks of it POTC 3 will be a LOST/POTC crossover there are so many members of the LOST cast there (I know Maggie and Jorge were over here for LFACC, but Eko and Jinn were there too) : Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : blackcat20 July 06, 2006, 11:50:10 AM There are inteviews with both Orlando and Johnny on the ninemsn (Australia) website. Follow this link: http://ninemsn.video.msn.com/v/en-au/v.htm, search for "Orlando Bloom" and both interviews will be listed. They are about 5mins each.
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : tialessa July 06, 2006, 08:48:26 PM Whoo Hoo! I'll be seeing Pirates on Saturday! YIPPEE!!!!
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : HPfamily July 06, 2006, 10:30:33 PM I can't wait!!!! ;D ;D My husband told me that some theaters were showing tonight at midnight!!! (:D#
I'll probably be going on Saturday also!! ;D : Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : Roz July 06, 2006, 10:48:38 PM Have no Aussies been to see it yet? We're waiting for a real life Yak review ;D
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : Roz July 07, 2006, 04:47:27 AM OOOOOOOOOOOh, I guess it would be me first then.
Well, hang the critics, I loved it - pure Jack Sparrow, Will Turner and good fun! Lots of mix ups, lots of twists and turns, a good ol' sea yarn. If you could criticise it for anything it would be because it's rather long, but I lapped up the hours of Piratey goodness (oh 'eck, I'm starting to sound like Mark!) Stay til after the credits for an extra smile ;D *possible, very weak spoiler follows in white* I was SO surprised that it's actually a two parter. Whilst I know they are filming POTC3 (notice that Depp, Bloom, and the rest of the cast were all sporting smarted-up versions of sideburns, goatees etc that they have for filming at the Premiere this week), but I had at least expected a little semi-closure. : Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : Morningangel-Iola July 07, 2006, 04:56:57 AM Oh no its not lord of the rings all over again ::)
Where did you get white :-\ : Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : Roz July 07, 2006, 05:06:57 AM Where did you get white :-\ I cheated. I changed it to any colour - black I think it was, and then I just wrote white into the code to replace where it previously said black  - it works with quite a few colours ;D : Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : Trey July 07, 2006, 05:08:24 AM It came out yesterday here in Australia but im going to see it tonight instead....only 12 more hours to go (:D#
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : blackcat20 July 07, 2006, 05:42:12 AM Im seeing it tomorrow arvo; we wanted to go gold class (want to be more comfortable for 2 1/2 hours viewing) and so tomorrow was the earliest we could get it....so excited! Paper gave it a crappy review yesterday, but they gave the first one a dog (ie utter crap), so I dont trust them that much.
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : Trey July 07, 2006, 05:48:32 AM I read that too!! Only like one star....but other reviews I have read have been really good. David and Margaret's movie reviews (abc i think, i dont watch it) gave it like 4 1/2 stars which is rare for them cause they are into more diverse and meaningful movies and often dont like the 'commercial' type movie...if that makes sense...So it looks like u either love it or hate it...
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : blackcat20 July 07, 2006, 05:52:56 AM I think Im gonna love it. The first one was hilarious, and im sure this one will be the same.
The funny thing is, although the Herald Sun gave it one star, the mx (which is essentially the same paper) gave it 3 1/2 :-\ : Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : Trey July 07, 2006, 06:11:11 AM The funny thing is, although the Herald Sun gave it one star, the mx (which is essentially the same paper) gave it 3 1/2 :-\ That is just plain stupid ::) Like u said they are basically the same paper... |:# Anyway im sure I will love it too, the trailers look amazing and of course there is the Johnny and Orlando factor :-* oh dear i may faint : Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : blackcat20 July 07, 2006, 06:21:16 AM the Johnny and Orlando factor :-* oh dear i may faint dont do that; youll miss all the action! : Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : bush360 July 07, 2006, 05:00:08 PM I tell you what I stayed up till 2am last night wrapping card sets and watching POTC, mainly cus I havent seen it before and I am going to see it tonight. WOW flamin ace it is I am really looking forward to tonight now.
: Re: POTC2 Teaser Trailer : Roz July 07, 2006, 06:29:54 PM Another mild spoiler
The third movie is called Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, which fits in with the ending, but what's hurting me is that it's not out for another year :'( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0449088/ : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : Sharon July 08, 2006, 12:50:45 AM I hope everyone goes to see this soon as there are so many things I want to say but you need to have seen the film first ;D
If you haven't seen the first one in a while make sure you refresh your memory before seeing this one, they are very closely linked. I totally agree with Roz's first white spoiler and the last minute of the film (before the titles) brought the biggest smile to my face ;D. I too stayed around to watch the seven and half minutes of credits to see what they would do after the film - : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : Morningangel-Iola July 08, 2006, 12:51:28 AM Where did you get white :-\ I cheated. I changed it to any colour - black I think it was, and then I just wrote white into the code to replace where it previously said black  - it works with quite a few colours ;D :o That's sneeky : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : Morningangel-Iola July 08, 2006, 01:00:27 AM I hope everyone goes to see this soon as there are so many things I want to say but you need to have seen the film first ;D If you haven't seen the first one in a while make sure you refresh your memory before seeing this one, they are very closely linked. I totally agree with Roz's first white spoiler and the last minute of the film (before the titles) brought the biggest smile to my face ;D. I too stayed around to watch the seven and half minutes of credits to see what they would do after the film - We are going next wednesday ;D : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : HPfamily July 08, 2006, 05:11:27 AM If you haven't seen the first one in a while make sure you refresh your memory before seeing this one, they are very closely linked. Watched it again this morning!! ;D I'm refreshed!!! ;) : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : Bryanjs14 July 08, 2006, 06:15:06 AM Wow...what can I say?
This movie kicked BUTT This is by far my favorite movie so far this year... It just has everything going for it! : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : bush360 July 08, 2006, 06:56:39 AM Sound just got back our 9.35 screening was full so we waited for the 10.25 showing. Wow I loved this it was amazing I love the fact it leads to a continuation at the end just great. I didnt wait till the end of the credits did I miss something, flamin big cups of Coke needed the little boys room.
If I missed anything PM me to let me know. Should know better I do watch hollyoaks Doh ! : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : blackcat20 July 08, 2006, 04:54:47 PM I saw it today, and I loved it. Mind you, I was pretty much the only person in the cinema laughing, but it was hilarious. Loved all the little references to the first movie, and the hint of the title of the second.
Tiny scene after the credits; not really any big hint like the one at the end of movie one. : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : Roz July 09, 2006, 06:20:39 PM Tiny scene after the credits; not really any big hint like the one at the end of movie one. That's true, but I guess they couldn't do too much in case people didn't see it and it ruined the continuity of the second half :) I wonder if that un-dead monkey will become key to the story later on. : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : HPfamily July 09, 2006, 09:48:23 PM Going today!! ;D (Finally ::) ) I can't wait!!! 8)
: Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : Roz July 10, 2006, 02:31:11 AM Hooray! I can't be belivin' that people haven't already flocked to see it ;D - I suppose it's the good weather, no one wants to be cooped up inside when it's this good outside ;)
I'm hoping to see it again ASAP ;D : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : Morningangel-Iola July 10, 2006, 02:40:25 AM We couldn't get tickets this weekend :( But we did see (again) the old one today in preperation ;D
: Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : Roz July 10, 2006, 02:59:35 AM Oh really? Has it been THAT popular? That's GREAT ;D (not for you, but I'm rooting for POTC beating Superman at the box office ;D).
: Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : HPfamily July 10, 2006, 06:27:26 AM WOW OH WOW!!!! How fun was that!!! I loved every moment of this movie!!! Very humorous!!! Luckally, the people next to us were laughing as much as we were!! ;D BAH to the movie critics who disliked this movie!! (:D#
And now for the v-e-r-y l-o-n-g year wait!!! : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : tialessa July 10, 2006, 08:17:27 AM I really really enjoyed it... tried to watch it Saturday night, but the friends I tried to talk into it couldn't do it (an 8:30 PM show was too late as it's a 2 1/2 hour movie). Saw it first thing on Sunday morning (10AM) - theatre had a decent crowd for that early - about 25 people. No spoilers, but TONS of references to the first film (and the ride). The official trailers don't spoil too much, but anything else probably will - saw a CBS Sunday Morning thing that gave away SEVERAL things that I thought were key...
: Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : HPfamily July 10, 2006, 08:22:03 AM Check it out!!! (:D#
http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/news/2006-07-09-box-office-analysis_x.htm Oh how I wish there would be a card set for POC!!! : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : kbmum July 10, 2006, 08:36:57 AM I can't believe there isn't a card set, either. I just got back from a trip to Disney World, and I scoured the parks looking for trading cards. I found some of the regular characters, but nothing for POTC. :-\ The refurbished Pirates of the Carribean ride opened on July 1, although there was no announcement. The official opening was July 7 and the lines were HUGE. I was glad I had the chance to go on it several times earlier in the week, and even managed to take some pictures. These aren't the best quality, due to low light levels, but my Canon Power Shot did the best it could. ;) It was amazing how perfect the look, mannerisms, and speech were for the Captain Jack figures.
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v451/kbmum/Disney/barbossa.jpg) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v451/kbmum/Disney/jack1.jpg) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v451/kbmum/Disney/jack2.jpg) : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : darthmactor July 10, 2006, 10:26:31 AM I saw the film Saturday and whilst I loved most all of it, the one part that dissapointed me (yes, prepare yourself for the shock)...was Johnn Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. Sparrow in POTC1 was classic, a great character: devious, cunning, mischevious, smart with occasional moments of comedy. In my opinion, POTC turned him, for the most part, into a walking Chuck Jones cartoon, played mainly for laughs. Gone was most of the devious, cunning, mischevious smarts that made the Sparrow of POTC1 so great. I know most of you probably disagree, but that's my opinion. But I loved most of the rest of the movie. Bill Nighy as Davy Jones was great, and for me, the best moment was the last scene with the cameo appearance (so as not to ruin it for those who haven't seen it or been spoiled already...all maybe one person :p), him with the apple, hah, loved it.
: Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : Roz July 10, 2006, 02:25:45 PM I loved it too don't get me wrong. I suppose it was impossible to keep us guessing - I think we spent a lot of the first film wondering who's side Jack was on, First Will's and then the Commadores (briefly) - until we just decided that he was on Cap'n Jack's side :D (with a twist at the end of being on Will's side again :P).
There really was no way they could take us on that rollercoaster again because we'd already done it (if that makes sense) and it wouldn't be possible to keep the pace of that again would it? : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : HPfamily July 10, 2006, 09:58:50 PM I took my two older boys to the movie also!! They liked it, but they did say that Cap'n Jack wasn't as funny in #2 as he was in #1. :-\
Now! What I wonder, I'll be careful with my words here for those who haven't seen it, is, if Elizabeth were to hold the compass, which "way" would the arrow point? :-\ HUMMMMM!! : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : Roz July 10, 2006, 10:07:49 PM *Hmm do you mean to Jack or to Will? I'd say Will, I know it was a dicy bit towards the end but she was doing what she needed to to save the masses IMHO (blah blah the sacrifice of the few for the many etc etc), it was rash and she seems to have regretted it. I wonder how Will will react when he gets some time to speak to Elizabeth... and is it entirely fair that we have to wait a year? :'( He hee, boo hoo - I can't wait. *
I know that all the card companies were moaning about license costs on this one, but the box office speaks for itself here (as much revenue in 3 days as Superman has had in a week and 3 days, in America alone (we can't do it worldwide yet as Superman isn't out worldwide), we'd have been all over these cards like a rash, and there were so many throwabout props to make cards from. All there is to collect so far is the Cards Inc Medallionz, and they aren't my bag TBH. : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : HPfamily July 10, 2006, 10:29:52 PM Yes Roz, thats what I meant!! ;)
Yeah, I saw the Medallionz also. But I'm not into that either!! :P I want cards I tell ya, CARDS!!!! : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : tialessa July 10, 2006, 10:57:03 PM Yeah, I saw the Medallionz also. But I'm not into that either!! :P I want cards I tell ya, CARDS!!!! And the Tops Trumps set doesn't interest me at all... I don't want Gaming cards.... I want trading cards!!!!! There are 3 US stores with POTC II gift cards - McDonald's (3), WalMart, and KB Toys. Apparently all will have to have $$ put on them before they can leave the stores (which is understandable, but I don't shop at KB Toys)... : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : sketchqueen July 11, 2006, 12:17:46 AM Revenue at the theaters does not necessarily mean revenue for trading cards.
I love the McDonald's gift cards though, and since we eat there ALL THE TIME, I'll definately be picking some up :) I was at KB over the weekend but didn't see theirs :( Ah well, back to work I go singing pirate ditties as I am one of the very few (apparantly) who has NOT seen the movie - no babysitter :( : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : tialessa July 11, 2006, 12:21:46 AM I love the McDonald's gift cards though, and since we eat there ALL THE TIME, I'll definately be picking some up :) I was at KB over the weekend but didn't see theirs :( And if I can't find one of the three at my nearby McD's, I'll be emailing you ;) I haven't yet checked B&N or Borders to see if either has POTC cards... Found an image of all 5 cards - bet you can't guess where ::) (http://img103.imageshack.us/img103/3820/7b13dk.jpg) : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : HPfamily July 11, 2006, 12:30:48 AM :-[ I bought that last night!
: Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : Roz July 11, 2006, 01:14:31 AM Revenue at the theaters does not necessarily mean revenue for trading cards. I did wonder about mentioning that ;) but I think this is one case which would have done well. : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : ferdinand_the_yak July 11, 2006, 05:38:49 PM I finally got around to seeing it and the critics can go and get stuffed - I loved it! ;D I thought Orlando and Keira improved alot from the first movie and Depp was, as usual, pure class  Loved all the references to POTC 1! I liked the somewhat changed appearance of one particular returning character... no spoilers, but rweowr :-* ;)
The twist at the end was soooooooo cool... I can't wait to see how that will turn out - next year can't come quickly enough ;D ;D ;D ****SPOILER**** When they were kissing at the end with the Kraken about to destroy the Pearl, I thought Jack chained himself to the mast at the end, not Elizabeth?? Or did I miss something? : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : kbmum July 11, 2006, 05:52:27 PM I saw it yesterday and loved it! My husband didn't care for it as much. What does he know? ;) Jo, that character did look better this time around. :)
: Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : ferdinand_the_yak July 11, 2006, 05:55:31 PM Possible, weak spoiler
When Jack is crawling onto the plank of wood after the Kraken sinks the first ship (the one that rescued him whne he jumped off Davy Jones' ship) - Did anyone think that he looked like Aragorn?? Or am I just obssessed with that darn trilogy? (:D# Cindy - my boyfriend loved it... he didn't look at his watch once! : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : kbmum July 11, 2006, 06:00:23 PM Or am I just obssessed with that darn trilogy? (:D# You have to ask? ;) : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : ferdinand_the_yak July 11, 2006, 06:06:23 PM Or am I just obssessed with that darn trilogy? (:D# You have to ask? ;) *looks away, whistling innocently* : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : Roz July 11, 2006, 06:41:00 PM LOOK AWAY NOW IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT
... ... ... you were warned (there's no matching lilac text to go on the quotes ... ... .. .. Last chance .. .. ****SPOILER**** When they were kissing at the end with the Kraken about to destroy the Pearl, I thought Jack chained himself to the mast at the end, not Elizabeth?? Or did I miss something? I didn't think so! But maybe that would explain Elizabeth's downhearted mood at the end - are you going to FORCE me to see it again to make sure? ...PS - can't wait to see it again  : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : ferdinand_the_yak July 11, 2006, 06:47:02 PM Never you mind about that Roz... I'll go and see it again to save you the trouble.
No really - I INSIST |:# SPOILER (Again) See, I thought Jack took it mighty calmly for a bloke who had been chained to a ship about to be destroyed by a Kraken... I'd only look like that if I knew what I was doing, i.e. if I had done it myself. : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : kbmum July 11, 2006, 07:10:45 PM Maybe I'm wrong, but didn't Jack have a scared/surprised expression on his face when the Kraken showed up after he was chained?
: Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : Choice of Lúthien July 11, 2006, 07:40:46 PM spoiler (since I can't figure out how to make the text so you can't see it)...
It's all Elizabeth's doing. She apologises to him and says she doesn't regret anything. And yes, Jack does look surprised as well and you can see Elizabeth moving him towards the mast. I think he's calm becuase he's resigned himself to his fate... I'm seeing it for a third time tomorrow and mean to keep a close eye on a couple of scenes/things that I think are hints of something important... : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : ferdinand_the_yak July 11, 2006, 07:49:22 PM Oh nuts. I wished it wasn't so and that he'd found that which Elizabeth was hoping he would find :(
Time to see it again, I think. Poor me ;) : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : HPfamily July 11, 2006, 09:57:57 PM I thought it was all Elizabeth's doing also. :-\
: Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : Roz July 12, 2006, 02:19:52 AM Never you mind about that Roz... I'll go and see it again to save you the trouble. No really - I INSIST |:# Well you can't fire me for not trying, I've just been to the cinema, it's a TUESDAY evening... the slowest evening in any cinema and although there were 2 showings after the time I went for they were ALL SOLD OUT! This is going to make crazy box office figures! : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : ferdinand_the_yak July 12, 2006, 06:21:33 AM We went to our usual cinema to see it (Tuesday night also) and all sessions were sold out as well!!! We didn't expect that as it has been out for a week (although it is school holidays here). We managed to get into another, quieter cinema, but that was pretty much capacity as well. Like you say, I can't wait to see the box office figures! :o
: Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : Trey July 12, 2006, 06:44:03 AM I saw it a few days ago and LOVED it. I thought re-hashing some of the old jokes at the start was a bit erm silly or corny maybe but there were a couple of ones that I did enjoy again. It was really really good but I cant believe that we now have to wait so long to see the next one :'(
*It was definately deliberate by Elizabeth, she did chain him up and then Jack looked at her and said 'pirates' (as in 'bloody pirates' from the first movie) so he knew what was going on and that she had just 'sacrificed' him to save the others* : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : ferdinand_the_yak July 12, 2006, 06:48:54 AM *Thanks for clearing that up Trey! Now we know why Elizabeth looked so depressed... I would too if I had chained Johnny Depp up and just LEFT him there >:D
I know what you mean... the last (while very cool) scene just left us hanging so badly... is it not 2007 yet? :o= : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : kbmum July 12, 2006, 07:40:19 AM Well you can't fire me for not trying, I've just been to the cinema, it's a TUESDAY evening... the slowest evening in any cinema and although there were 2 showings after the time I went for they were ALL SOLD OUT! This is going to make crazy box office figures! We went to a Monday 11 a.m. showing and there were only a few seats left in the theater when the movie started. : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : Bryanjs14 July 12, 2006, 08:26:29 AM Well I am sure that it was already mentioned in this thread but it broke every kind of record here in the states.
$132M over the weekened (Spiderman 2 was #1 at $114) $55M in it's first day (Episode 3 was the highest at $51M or something like that) Over $100M in it's first Two days. It is INSANE how much money this movie will make...Titanic is the #1 Grossing film of all time here in the States at $600M...I wonder if Pirates will have a shot at beating it? : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : ferdinand_the_yak July 12, 2006, 10:00:39 AM Let's hope so - its a much better movie! ;D
: Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : Morningangel-Iola July 13, 2006, 01:40:05 AM Yay i have seen it at last very good ;D I was very surpirsed at the end hadn't expected them. I thought old Tia whats her face was a good charcter and do we think the thing Jack 'pocketed' from her home will have any bearing?
: Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : RupT July 13, 2006, 02:35:31 PM went to see POTC 2 last night and thought it was really good..... REALLY good.... but i still prefer the first one i think. There were some super cool scenes in the movie, and like many of you, the whole cannibal island thing was a little outta place. I totally got the whole running on to dry land to escape the Kraken... and i suppose it just provided more comic releif for us!!
I loved the whole three way fight and the big wheel chase/fight thingy - very entertaining. No i haven't read this thread until today (to prevent reading spoilers) so i was totally unaware that there was a third movie and even though i knew the movie was like 2.5hrs long and at a few moments within the movie i felt it was dragging, when it got to the end, i REALLY was expecting to see the remaining crew sail to the ends of the earth.... and then the credits rolled up... WHAT!!! i felt slightly cheated.... but am totally looking forward to the third one now... Captain Barbosa, Jack and Davey Jones all in one movie.... WOW!!! Could you ask for more pirates in a movie than that?? We loves them pirates we do.. Arrrrrrr I didn't see any trailers yesterday that i hadn't already seen - except Cars... and i keep bloody seeing the trailer for Break Up (vince Vaughn anf Jennifer Aniston - its really annoying and i feel like i've seen the whole movie now without actually (wanting to) watching it) Grrrrrr Next up - Over the HEdge on Saturday : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : Morningangel-Iola July 14, 2006, 03:37:04 AM I'm upset I cant get the digital tarding cards on the website as you have to sign up with a US or Canadian address :'(

: Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : HPfamily July 16, 2006, 02:46:30 AM Has anyone purchased the soundtrack yet?
I have a confession! This is the first soundtrack I have bought (well, besides Saturday Night Fever  ). Yes! I am admitting that I haven't even purchased a single HP soundtrack *ducks to dodge spells being casted from around the world* (But do not fret!! I purchased all of them, plus Star Wars yesterday! ;D) Anywho, I have to say that I am feeling the emotions in every track!! I highly recommend it to all!!! My kids are even enjoying it!! My 3 year old sat on the couch staring into "la la land" listening to it!! :o :D : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : ferdinand_the_yak July 16, 2006, 04:11:48 AM Did you purchase the POTC 1 soundtrack? If not, I highly recommend that too! ;)
: Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : HPfamily July 16, 2006, 06:10:08 AM I did this afternoon!! ;D No stores (even Wally Land ::) ) has #1 in my town. So I ordered it on Amazon! :) Can't wait because I love the track "He's a Pirate" from #1!!! I don't really care for the re-funky-mixes! :P

Back last year when Dead Mans Chest came out, posters were put up in bus stops and tram stops around the city...being a bit cheeky,, I emailed the company to ask if I could have a will turner poster...and this is what I picked up this morning: (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/blackcat20/DSCN2423.jpg) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/blackcat20/DSCN2424.jpg) And if you dont beleive just how big these things are, my cat is walking past the top of the Jack Sparrow poster....they are massive ;D (got the Kiera Knightly one too) : Re: POTC2 Dead Man's Chest : Sharon February 13, 2007, 01:57:07 PM What a lovely company ;D I think someone may be keeping an eye on the bus shelters again this year ;)
