I have decided to do (the first ever on TYS ) a quiz board to test your internet skills and brain knowledge.
But first the rules:

• all members of TYS are more than welcome to join the quiz and are allowed to make comments on the board.
• you are only to send one answer for each question, if there are 2 answer from the same member I will be looking at the earliest post from that member
• after 5 ANSWERS I will be putting the answer to that question and the user name who got it right
  I will be keeping a note of the scores
• there will be normal questions (marked as q1...) worth 1 point, and bonus questions (marked as Bq1...) that are worth 2 or more points
• if there are any questions to do with the rules please ask me straight away

Everest is still growing, so the exact height cannot be accurately calculated.

Given that the polar ice caps are melting at an alarming rate, I would have thought that 75% was probably the correct percentage these days, but I'm not going to argue with what his teachers have told him. ;)

I thought I'd better clarify some of the Rules for you (and Mum has helped me with this) ;)

This is to try and make it as fair as possible ....

Revised rules:

1st person correct answer: 2 points
2nd person correct answer: 1 point

A time limit will be set:

I will try and give a couple of day's warning of when I plan on posting the next question for this particular clip, so that it's as fair as I can make it and everyone has advanced warning of when to expect the next question to be posted.

I had planned on only asking three questions per round, but Mum has pointed out that it won't work very well that way cos of the time differences involved, so it will be the first person of the pairing to get three points ahead of the other person who will win that clip.
If it takes more than three questions to do it then I'll just keep posting new questions till the three point lead has been reached! :)

So, the next question will be posted on Friday early evening UK time ....  ;D

Actually Paul more than enough people declared themselves a Jedi.  The Government had an obligation to recognise it as a formal religion but they took it upon themselves to ignore the voice of the people  >:().  I wonder what will happen when Scientology becomes more popular?  Will they ignore that as well?  Sorry I have a little bee in my bonnet about the powers that be deciding how to define us  >:()

We don't have recognised religions here in the USA.  If you feel like it, you do it!   ::)
As far as Scientology, I think Tom Cruise is pretty much killing that one for most people!  :rofl:

Oh you would love our census Kelly - you have to list all sorts of irrelevant things and then if the Government gets answers they don't like they just ignore the results  >:().  OK this should probably move to the I Am So Cross...... thread  ;)

I would think it fair to say that many people here in the UK regard Scientology as a huge joke ... with possibly Kabbalah coming in as a close second. ;)
