He also has two filmcards listed at $75 and $100.  Someone asked him what was special about the $75 filmcard, and the seller responded that the NSU price guide lists the card at $135. ::)

It costs quite a bit to list items with high opening bids -- he really should have looked through completed items on eBay or the price guide here before setting his prices.

I just couldn't believe that. I know the NSU price guide can be a little way out (at least in comparison to ebay or prices at shows etc.) but I had to check it out. NSU list a full set of all 9 cards as $135 which makes a little more sense

Do the sets sell for that much?  I've seen quite a few that don't get any bids for $99.  He must have read the NSU price guide incorrectly.  Unless he finds a very gullible newbie, his cards won't sell.

Well we do expect the prices to be pretty way out ;)

That's why I like our price guide much better.  At least it's accurate!

I think the seller also misread about the Harry robe, mistaking a POAU retail costume with the rare POA hobby costume.

I almost feel bad for this seller, as he will be paying lots of listing fees for nothing.

I was thinking the same thing, but how do you tell someone something like that?  I mean, more power to him if he sells them for that price, but if he doesn't, it would be nice to have something to go by other than the NSU prices.  $300 for a retail costume!!!!

I am suddenly even more confused.  He has the retail card at $300, the two filmcells at $75 and $100 (which are numbered less than the retail costume).  But then he has Draco's scarf at $20 starting bid, and this:

True you would have to be gentle. I've got that card and I certainly didn't pay that much for it. Maybe say you think the price is a little high, but also point out you aren't trying to get it down so you can buy it. But maybe to come and have a look at the price guide which has all the ebay auctions added in to give the expected prices. But good luck to him if he sells it for that much.

If we told him to come here, he would have to sign up and join to view the priceguide (nothing wrong with that), but we wouldn't want him to think we were purposely writing to him to get him to join..you know?  I guess maybe we should just leave it alone.  After all, some of his auctions have good starting prices, so I think he is just trying to get lucky with some.

It all just seems very odd.

It won't surprise anyone, but none of the seller's cards received a bid.  He relisted the filmcards with opening bids $36 and $75. ::)

Funny how the good card went for $75.00, his Cleese autograph. And with only one bid.

Well, we don't see all that many of these autos these days, plus the high bidder is a newbie.  He or she must really want the card.

Crazy! Apart from the Hermione auto and to an extent the NH Nick and Ollivander autos, there is nothing there really worth that much. I wouldn't think he should realistically expect to get more than $2500 and he's listed it at about $4000!!! ::)

The highest bid was $811! I really don't think, these days, he'll get more than that!!  :-\

I think that the reserve he put on it was too off putting to most buyers, especially those who know their prices. Like I said, if you take out Hermione ($400) and Nick/Olivander ($100-120), the majority of the rest of the cards you could easily pick up for at the very most, $40 or so. Most for less than $20! Hmmm...

Do they think that it has grey in it?  Looks like a lighting problem to me.  :-\

I wouldn't have said the lighting was a problem exactly ... I think it's been lit like that on purpose to try and make it stand out as something special, which of course has been very successfully done! ::)
Nothing has been said about 'grey hairs' on the listing but even so .... I think people are assuming they're there! ::)
I think there's going to be a very disappointed high-bidder when they receive this card don't you? :-\

You know, I pulled a spare Grim card and it actually does have quite a bit of grey in it and is a low number.  When I saw this auction, I thought, WOW, maybe I should list my spare.   ;)
