LOL interesting - will it go over the price of 10 boxes??? Perhaps, since there's a better chance of getting a balanced set of cards from a case - mind you I think it's beyond the point where people actually OPEN these things

I don't think I could resist the urge to open a couple of boxes, then curse my luck and swear loudly at the world when it (ineveitably) didn't turn out ok.

I have sold 4 for over $200 so far.  :)  I would bet they are close to $350 to $400 by christmas, when these boxes are nearly extinct.  Thats just my thoughts though.  I just love selling my boxes for $200 and turning around and buying Dumbledores for $116, and other prop cards for $150 to $200.   Its so much better than cracking the boxes myself. I get to choose what i get out of them.  Most people would be happy to open two boxes and pull a Hermione autograph.   Well right now I can sell two boxes and buy the Hermione autograph.  I think in the next few weeks you will see a huge rise in the price of the individual cards as many end up in collectors hands and everyone else realizes that there are not very many of any card in the set, with  the Weasley costume card of 1300 being less than most Lord of the Rings autographs.

Sorry for spoiling the party, but for my eyes the 'case' auction seems to be very questionable. The seller have no feedback from buyers, and 3-day listing for THAT rare item is, I think, really unnatural.
I would not bid on that one even if I had a really deep wallet...

All very good points, I hope whoever wins pays with credit card on their paypal....

Well, I don't see it listed anywhere on their auction. They do mention a "bank draft" but this can be done without paypal via your bank with no or very little fees.........so no paypal protection!

I would be cautious.

That's a shame to be honest as I'd be interested in what one of these is worth and I don't think this will get a fair bidding because of that (here's hoping no one gets burned though  :-\)

In both auctions it says "only case available" - do you think the buyer backed out of the deal?

hmmm.....good question!

1. either the original buyer backed out
2. He's stretching the truth
3. He's english may be a bit rough and "only case available" may be referring to the fact that he's selling by the case only, not individual boxes.

The last auction ended on a great buy in my opinion (compared to the now $200.00 standard going rate per individual box) and hopefully the feedback for the last transaction will be shown soon....unless the last buyer backed out.

I doubt that very much. The buyer for the case had already bought a couple of sealed boxes from me about a week earlier. Paid very quickly & left feedback promptly too. Excellent buyer.

i wasn't casting doubt over the buyer - this seller has very specific payment methods - maybe they couldn't agree one

We'll probably find out soon enough. If the deal went well I wouldn't be surprised to find him bidding for another case.

I would think this should at least sell for his starting price...

$200 a box... they would easily get twice that if they held onto them for a while - think FoTR hobby boxes. i just saw an auction for a PoA box for $400 BIN already  :o

He hee - if FOTR boxes are worth $400 I don't think HP is quite there yet!!

MPC is probably still sitting on a load - there  must be loads out there unopened - whereas I should think that there really isn't that much FOTR unopened now.

I just can't people paying the kind of money for a box of HP POA.
At least with the FOTR & TTT boxes you know you are going to get at least one auto and with FOTR every other box has 2 auto's.  I would bet there were very few (if any) topps boxes that were duds.
I think we all can give a personal experience with a dud box or two ***orrrrr more **roz** sorry to rub it in.
To much risk not enough reward when you are holding your Weasley Robe card #1300 for taking the chance.

I don't see $400 any time soon.  I think $200 would be about the max.

:) I know what you mean - but there's a chance of getting 3 chase cards in a box too - I got Sirius, George and a Dervish in one box - that made the whole half case worthwhile!!!

I had a box with a hermione pink sweater, rosmerta auto redemption card and an exploding bon bons. Of course that was the best box by far of the 20 I opened and it was after 1 dud and 1 with only a Ron Robe, so I was due.  Even so unless the most common cards rise in value it is going to be the people who didn't get a box yet who are going to  splurge for a box.  I doubt anyone who has been aware of this product in time to get a box for a reasonable price would pay $400 for a box.  FOTR you could get a $600 card (or two auto's)

What does the lowest FOTR auto go for $100+.  Worst case senario you end up with that card. No duds or Ron Robe cards going for $20.
