: Highest-priced filmcard ever!
: kbmum September 20, 2005, 05:25:40 PM
This one is at $71.09 and there are still five hours to go!  It's a variant, with two different cells (Boggart changing shape in Lupin's class and Buckbeak rearing up to slash Draco) in the Harry and owl in the courtyard card.

I have a filmcard with two different cels also...although it is from the same scene. It is from POAU and it is the scene where Harry is sitting in his room on his bed with his head down. THe first cel is a distant shot of harry on his bed, and the next cel is a close up of the picture of his parents. It is the Courtyard filmcel #323/900

Man....I might just put this one up for sale after seeing how much money the other variant brought in!

The cards with two different cells usually sell for more, but I've never seen one go this high.  You might want to put a reserve on yours, Bryan.  I bought one like this a couple of months ago for $13.62 (Lupin classroom card with cells of Stan Shunpike on the Knight Bus and Sirius' prison cell at Hogwarts).

Your card sounds great!  I thought that was one of the most poignant scenes in the movie.

I wonder why it's so popular, there have been so many with 2 different cells. Yes they are rare but not $70 rare!

It looks to be a case of two bidders getting into a bidding war.  Why can't that happen with my auctions? ;)

I really want a filmcard like this, but have seen plenty go for less than $20.  I think I will wait to find one that ends with a lower price.

In most bidding wars, the second place bidder usually ends up as the long term winner.

Now that's the truth!  Bidding ended at $71.09.

I know it's getting harder to find these cards, but I don't think a Hermione punch card with matching cells would go for this much.

 >:() I cannot even imagine people even spending that much on a film cell. Sometimes I wonder if thiese cards dont get "bumped" up by other people working or friends of the person selling the card. Whats next a $70 lupin jacket? lol  :-\

Roz, they are only $70.00 rare when you sell them, not when you buy them.

There just tend to be phases when certain types of variant etc are it. Like 3 months or so after PoAU came out Fizzing Whizbees were IT and they went for between £150 and £250.

Jules recently got one for a complete bargain basement price :D
