Halloween is right around the corner and I always start looking early for costumes for my kids.  And since I am the farthest from a "sally home maker" (I took "Shop" instead of "Home Ec."), I would rather pay some other "sally" to make a costume in their home!! Well, if it's not Harry Potter around our house, it's Star Wars.  I found these costumes on eBay and I thought they were pretty realistic!!!  8) I actually order the full child's Obi-Wan for my 5 year old.  (There are adult sizes in her eBay store). A little pricey, but I always let the kids play with costumes all year round.  So for the money, it's worth it to me. ;D

Oh they are so cute  :D  If you take them trick or treating make sure you take a really big bag, I can see loads of candy coming your way ;D

Mine have yet to decide what they'll be this year - although, if history should repeat, my eldest will be a Superhero (we're done Spidermand and Power Rangers in past years) and my youngest will be furry and animalistic :)

That's an amazing costume!  Definately worth the money for him to play in it all year.  Sometimes mine wear costumes to the grocery store.  ::)

I remember that, me wearing my Black Power Ranger costume to the store. Then there was me dressed up like Harry when I was ten :rofl: Now look at me, not even trick-or-treating anymore :P... actually I do because Monica makes me ::)

I would go trick or treating if I thought I could get away with it.  Who could pass up free candy?  ;)

Here they do trick or treat down main street.  All of the businesses stay open, the streets are blocked off and all of the kids walk from store to store trick or treating!!  I love this idea and it's a lot safer!!! :D

My daughter wants to go as a cat.  Okay, that's easy enough.  But my son wants to go as Pac-Man.  There are no commercially available Pac-Man costumes. :-\  I did a Google search and found pictures of costumes made for adults, with fabric stretched over homemade PVC frames.

That's great and all, but what am I going to do for a kid who's 5?  Besides, I don't want anything that covers his head and could restrict his vision.  I'm hoping that either I think of something he'll find acceptable or he'll change his mind before the stores run out of costumes. ;)

To all those in the UK I went to Asda today and they had absolutely tons of Halloween stuff, I have a sneaking feeling it could have something to do with their relationship to Walmart now :)

And so, it looks like my oldest will be Darth Vader for Halloween - my husband nailed it on the head. We're still trying to figure out what the youngest will be - I'm pushing for one of his brother's old costumes, but that's because I'm cheap! :)

I love seeing all the neat costumes that the kids have. I remember one year when this kid was dressed up like a Hobo and I was the only one in the street to guess his costume right, he was all happy that somebody finally got it, thank goodness I like my classic movies   :)  :rofl:

My niece turned 14 this year and decided she was to old for trick or treating anymore so I have 2 other nieces and 1 nephew to enjoy taking trick or treating for Halloween.

They have some great costumes in the Disney magazine but they are rather expensive, they have a Captain Jack Sparrow costume also  |:#

I think Alan Rickman carries the costum better. Love the St Mungos one ;D

Yeah kelly I'm sure you could if you put your mind to it. I couldn't saw on a button but I put my mind to it and this is the first thing I sewed, by hand I may add, so there is hope for everyone.

That's a lovely costume you sewed Dawn. ;D  I use to make my Halloween costumes years ago, but I haven't used my sewing machine in over 10 years now. :P

I'm in love with the First Task Costumes so I decided to make one about a month ago but I'm scared to start because 1) I have no idea how complex it is till I have some better shots of the whole things 2) I have to sew it by hand till my mom gets the machine fixes :-X The one on Ebay I'd like to own but I want a Hufflepuff one 8)

Wow, Dawn!  That costume is amazing.  :o  Sewing seems so difficult.  But maybe I just have a mind block against it.  I'm going to have to make my daughters cowgirl vest for Halloween though.  I can't find one anywhere and she want's it to be cow print.  I'll let you know how it goes...... :o=

Well, we were wrong. After spending about 30 seconds in the costume store, my son very decidly selected a S.W.A.T guy costume - I suppose it fits - half military, half police and although I did nix the fake gun accessory, I told him we'd look for a baton (or whatever the big pain stick they carry is called) - he's happy, I'm glad he won't look like *every* other kid and now we still have to determine one for the youngest...

We finally worked out a costume for my son.  He decided he wanted to be Super Pac-Man.  Not just Pac-Man, noooooo, but the super hero version (yes, it actually exists).

Since there has never been a Super Pac-Man costume, we had to improvise.  I found a hat on eBay that doesn't cover his face, a red cape from a Superman costume at Wal-Mart, white gloves from a party store, a dark yellow sweatshirt, and black sweatpants.  We found a kitty costume for my daughter at the party store, and now we are set for Halloween! :)

LOVE that Pac-Man hat!  :rofl:  I would wear it!  I finally got my daughters cowgirl vest done.  We found a sheriffs badge at the grocery store and it came with a black Lone Ranger mask.  And now she wants to wear overalls.  Sooo...she's looks more like a farmer/cowgirl/sheriff/bandit type person.  ???  Funny but cute.

Our nieces and nephew are all ready for Halloween here. Alexis will be Snow White. Wendi also bought an apple and rose for her to carry with the costume. Kati is going to be a Gothic Witch, and she will have a broom (of course) to carry with her costume. Miguel will be wearing a costume Fusae sent last year (he wanted to be Barney last year so he didn't get to wear it). It's what kids would wear to summer festivals.

I don't think anyone else is dressing up. I may put on my kimono or yukata, but I did that last year so I'll probably just walk along with the kids ;)

I put the kids in their costumes yesterday as a sort of dress rehearsal and took some pictures.  They looked so cute!  The hat fits my son, but both my husband and I can wear it.  Your daughter is going to look adorable, Kelly.  Isn't it funny the way kids want to dress up?

Well, the verdict is in. It's a ..... frog. Yup, my youngest will be a frog, my eldest a SWAT dude and I'll be proudly marching beside them wearing my Mardi Gras mask :) Ought to be an interesting group ...

I couldnt find a Harry Potter costume that would fit me and so me and Monica cant go as Hermione and Harry together :'( They did have a first task  robe that fit but it only came with the robe and my black pants are packed up SOMEWHERE in the garage so I didnt get that ether. I wish I had the money to buy all my supplys for my Cedrics robe because I would go as Cedric. I thought about going as Viktor seeing they went together in the movie but Monica just laughed :rofl: Guess I'm going to have to go the the adult side now *sniff* I better see if Monica still wants me to go now I cant be Harry ::)

You can still be a dementor.  I know it's from the last movie, but there are lots of adult dementor costumes out there and it would be easy enough to make yourself if you wanted.  Just buy a black sheet and add a hood.

My roomates and I (There are seven of us in a HUGE old (really old) house) held an alice in wonderland themed party.  It was fantastic.  We all dressed up like the characters (I ended up with Tweedledee, ha) and then spent all day Saturday on decorations.  The event was an incredible success as we had over 200 guests stop by as the party was going on throughout the night.

Ok not a halloween costume. But I need ideas for work. We are having a  new catalogue launch at work and they want people dressed up and although I miss the main day they still want us to wear costumes the weekend after which I am more than likely going to work. I'm running out of ideas, it needs to be practical. I've already been a fairy and a blinking good pirate (the shack would have been proud) even if I was the only one wearing a costume that day ::) So any ideas?
