: JK goes after eBay

There's an interesting story on The Leaky Cauldron about fake JK autos on eBay.  JK has gone on the offensive, since eBay isn't policing its site.

Good for her!  I don't think she will get very far - Ebay now seems to be all powerful and a law unto themselves but at least she is trying.  I wouldn't mind putting in a complaint but you have to do it on a specific auction and I would hate to do that on a genuine auto.

But lets face it, it isn't just JKR autos.  How many base trading cards do we see for sale with Dan, Emma and / or Ruperts auto - how many of them look real?

Ebay needs to start taking responsibility for what is being sold, not just grabbing fees.  And they have proved they can do it; look how quickly they removed the Live Aid tickets.  Whilst I didn't exactly agree with people selling these on Ebay, they were neither fake or illegal.
