: What is your Favorite / Rarest Filmcard?
: Bryanjs14 August 31, 2005, 10:00:18 PM
Hello everyone,
I have about 30 filmcards sitting in front of me and I went through them and noticed a bunch of them are the same or close to the same cel. SO I wanted to know what everyone's favorite and/or rarest cel they have is. Mine has to be a close up oh Harry and Prof. Twelawney, or a close up of Michael Gambon as Dumbledore. Both of which I will get pictures of later tonight. So what is everyone else's favorite?

I have one from outside the train looking in, right before the glass freezes from the dementors.  I love the shot of the three kids and with the rain on the window, it looks almost like a painting.  Love it.

I also like the one with the Dementors hand opening the door on the train, but only saw one on eBay once, and never did see another one.  Would love to find one.

I have 2 favorites.  One is of Ron on the train with his hand pressed to the freezing window.  The other is Trelawney as she says "Look into the BEYOND!" and throws her arm over her head.  The 2nd frame switches to a different view of the same scene.  Did I get one of those from you, Bryanjs14?  I know i got them from someone on the Shack.

That cell is my favorite one too! ;D

My favorite cells are of Harry and Stan on the Knight Bus, probably because I haven't seen other cards with these cells (see below -- the screen capture is a bit blurry, but the cells aren't).  My favorite card/cell combination is the werewolf card with cells of Harry and Hermione cowering from the growling werewolf before Buckbeak saves them.

In case anyone is wondering, Veritaserum has thousands of screen captures from the HP movies, trailers, and TV specials.  Here's the link for the trailer pictures used in the POAU filmcards:

That's a great link.  I would love to find one of the Dumbledore shots.

Since I'm always looking for POAU filmcards, I'll let you know if I find any with Dumbledore. :)

Veritaserum has a lot of good stuff on its site.  I'm trying to make a couple of Lockhart book replicas and I've been making good use of the pictures they have of the character.  The screen caps from the trailer were certainly helpful when I was selling spare filmcards.  It's so hard to get a good shot of the cells, so the screen caps were the next best thing.

I love most of my set (only one of each) but two that stick out the most are Harry in the snow after hearing about Sirius in the Three Broomsticks and Harry looking out of the window when he can't got to Hogsmeade, bless him.

I only have two from SS (hope I can post his here). They are Hagrid after he picks up the Sorcerers Stone and is talking to Harry the other is when Mr Ollivander is telling Harry that "Its seems only yesterday your mother and father were in here buying their first wand...ahh"

Out of all the boxes of SS I opened (which I have lost count of now, I think it was seven or was it eight  :-[ ) anyway I didn't even get one SS cell card. So will stick with my POAu's

Kelly,
you very well could have gotten one of those from me, I know we did do a trade for a Harry in the Leaky Cauldren.

If someone is looking for a Dumbledore filmcard, I do have one for trade, and it is a close up of him. I really like that Harry and Hermione cel also...I have it and I guess I completly overlooked it.

The one I like of the three on the train, view from outside the train, happens right before Ron puts his hand on the window.

My personal favourite is a Knight Bus card with this cell

It's not because I am a Harry/Hermione shipper, but because I think it's sweet all the same ;)

My favorite is of the Knight Bus with the cell of Harry actually on the bus holding on for dear life!!
I also have 4 seperate cards with Hermionie during the series of "The Encounter", then right before the punch,  another during the punch,  and then when she said "That felt good!" ;D

My Wife's favorites are Hermione punching Malfoy and after when She says "that felt good" but a close second would be Harry with His wand out right before He activates his Patronus. All three of these are nice.
