I am posting in desparation  :( I have paid for two items but get no reply from numerous emails sent. The first item was a Charmed Conversations package.As this has only just been released,I don't expect to get it for a week or two,although I paid on 14th July.The second item worries me though because it was a single card - Goblet of Fire promo #4.Bought and payment sent on 3rd August.I even gave the option a couple of days ago to put the promo in with my Charmed parcel.This seller has over 1600 positive feedbacks,so am I just unlucky? All I want is an answer to my emailed questions. If you are a member, please PM me.

Graham - have you emailed this seller using the ebay facility or not - sending messages through ebay and making sure there's a copy left in your outbox? If you haven't then try it, as he might have his email filter set too high and your emails aren't getting through.
Just a thought ...

It does sound like you will be waiting even longer if you've said for him to post the single card in with the others. :-\

I've emailed both privatly and via Ebay - playing safe.Although I gave the option of sending both together,I never got a reply.I'm not that bothered about the length of time it takes to get to me,as long as I am kept in the picture.At the moment,all I've got is a blank sheet.   :( at the moment but slowly moving on to  >:( and  >:()

I got a card from that seller.  No problems at all.   ???

I registered a complaint with Ebay yesterday and, surprise surprise, got an email from the seller  ::)

Graham is too polite to tell you this bit but the seller is blaming Katrina for the delay.  The fact this stuff was bought and paid for 1 month before the storm hit makes this claim rubbish.  What a nasty piece of work to use this disaster as an excuse  >:(

The seller lives in Florida.  There should be no delays at all from the hurricane.  >:()

Unless Graham was buying a "liquid oil" card from the Gulf of Mexico for his "oil of the world" collection ;)

Oh don't say that.  The amount of things he is collecting at the moment he is just as likely to search Ebay for 'oil of the world' as soon as he gets home  :rofl:


See that is where they get sneaky.  For us Brits that would be a perfectly reasonable excuse IF it hadn't been for the time difference  >:()  I think we forget how big the US is.  In the UK if there is a problem in London with snow, post etc it can affect a big chunk of southern England.

Well lo and behold - my Charmed Conversations package arrived which wasn't bad on the timescale. Released on 24th, posted on 31st, received on 6th. No Goblet promo though  :( Looks like I will have to take his offer of the spare he's got.

Got the Goblet of Fire promo this morning  - posted on the day I registered my dispute with Ebay.I can't see me using this seller again which is a shame because the service with my Charmed package was excellent.

I don't know if you've noticed with your items from abroad or not, but most of the items I've had from the US recently have been taking twice as long to come through to me - there have been a couple of exceptions to this but on the whole everything is being delivered at a snail's pace. :-\
Does anyone know if there's a huge backlog of mail at Mount Pleasant in London or is it some other reason for the delay?
I'd be interested to know please. :)

A few weeks ago, I won a new card (Nienna, it was a Dumbledore auto  ;)).  It wasn't from this particular seller on this thread. It came from UK. It took 2 weeks from the time he mailed it to my mailbox!! :(  :oThat is the longest I have ever waited!! The seller and I had great communication and concern. Luckily, everything turned out good!! ;D

I think that is the main thing when buying from Ebay - you don't mind delays, just be kept informed.  If a seller ignores your Emails you are bound to think something fishy is going on.  I have bought stuff where the seller has sent out messages to say they are on holiday and will post on a certain date.  For me this is no problem, just keep me informed!

I have to say all the lately stuff I have got from abroad (US and Germany) has come really quick but the stuff I posted to North London (about 1 hour away from me) still hasn't arrived and it has been 9 days  >:()

I can't figure out why some items are getting through in record time from the US - one in particular arrived in a record-breaking 3 DAYS which was astounding!! - and others seem to have disappeared on a round-the-world trip before being delivered! >:(
I agree that good contact is essential, especially as mail is being delayed at random. I would much rather a seller be honest with me and say 'I forgot to send it' rather than spin me a yarn about it being delayed somewhere along the line when they haven't even posted it yet! Don't they realise I'll check the date on the postmark? ::)

Thanks for posting your experiences with the post at the moment ... if anyone else has any more to add to them I would like to read them please. ;)

I have had a few cards that took up to a month, and the postmark was from a month before it arrived.  It shipped from Toronto Canada and I have had plenty of cards that got to me in 5 days from Canada so it seems to be somewhat of a crap shoot when you are getting them from out of country.  I also have had people in Germany, Oz and Asia get cards in 5 days and sometimes it had taken 3 weeks I don't know what makes it happen that way but it seems to on occassion.
