Yeah - whilst it might help the whole design belongs to Topps I think so to be honest I don't think they'd like it much

Yes , Roz, looks good but am just surprised to see it on eBay!!

The problem comes in that while *this* seller makes clear that it's not authentic, what about the next time it gets sold? Will the person remember to state clearly that it's a counterfeit? Or will they try to unscrupously sell the fake as the genuine article?

Then again, we all know that I am particularly biased when it comes to these types of fan-made cards, so I'd better just go back into my corner and grumble to myself ;)

Me too - whoever it is is cruisin' for a bruisin' from Topps! I didn't post it on the Topps board for that reason, if they find out it can be through their own research rather than me sneaking ;)

Maybe not less problems as such, cos either way its an infringement, but using the Topps logo and authenticity statement just pushes it a little too far if you get my drift...

Definitely could cause problems for future buyers who don't read the Yak Shack Price Guide.

Someone else once made a Sauron at the height of ROTK fever, it went for something like £400 or more - totally mad!

I wonder how in the world they got Sala to sign the card. If he signed it ........

Oh he did sign it I'm sure- the lovely Baker is at every convention in the UK ... always ;) (although he did miss one recently as he's working on Narnia!)

Ended with no bids!  Looks like folks are getting smarter out there.

Odd that Topps did not stop the auction though, it seems they know about it from a post on another forum by Darren at Cards, Inc.

Well, it got relisted... And this time the seller decided to start it with a 99p price to get bidders interested.  Unfortunately, it worked.
