The Harry Potter fans in Germany have decided:

On the Cover of "Harry Potter and the half blood prince" a motive for cave will have to be seen

Two weeks long could select visitors of the publishing house homepage between the motive for cave and a variant with a tower - both of Illustratorin Sabine Wilharm -. More than 182,000 readers delivered their vote.

The book appears in German translation on 1 October.

I have never read a Potter Book i wait for the Audio Book read by RUFUS BECK  :-* (that voice.... that voice  0:) )

I voted for this one on  the site (couldnt really under stand it so I had to find a direct link on one of the fan sites :rofl:) because I thought the other one gave away A MAJOR SPOILER to fans.

I vote for this cave cover too because the tower picture was for vote for the goblet of fire cover too and LOST  ;D

No, i'm so happy. I really hated the "tower cover". What a bad decision to create and suggest such a cover. Do you want to take the book in your hand and the first thing you are thinking while looking at the cover is: "Ahh, here is Dumbledore dying". Great idea.  >:()

The cave cover is not bad and of course i voted for this one. This was my third vote (Book 4, 5 and 6) and the third time that i was with the majority.  8)

The much better cover has won.  :)

Thanks for posting the book covers T&F.  I've never seen the German version covers before.  I find it interesting that in English we have to write out Goblet of Fire, but in German you just write Feuerkelch. :)

It would have worked with other titles too. "Phoenixorden" for example or "Schreckenskammer". That's called "Zusammengesetzte Hauptwörter".  ;D

BTW: Kammer des Schreckens means Chamber of horror or something like that. The only title which has been changed with the translation.

Nouns (Substantive) are named articles, persons, circumstances etc.

I dont think I could learn German I have a hard time learning French. All I know how to say in French is follow me :rofl:

I have never said that german is easy. But to think in german and read + answer in english as quick as possible that is sometimes really not easy 

I never thought i would write english again after school.

I should take my "zusammengesetzte Hauptwörter" and go to bed.  ;D

I can't understand what i'm doing here since a year. Unbelievable to write and read so much in English. I didn't like any foreign language in school and wasn't so good in English. So i stopped learning it as fast as possible (like Harry cancelled Divination). But the history stroke back and now i'm sitting here and doing nothing else. Unbelievable.  ::)

I am always amazed that both of you (T&F and Tower) participate in this forum so well.  It must be extremely diificult participating in discussions in a language that you learned years ago in school.  I know for a fact that I could never do it. :P  You both have my highest admiration for your accomplishment. ;D

Thanks for posting the adult version covers Tower.  They look so very different from the US covers, ours are hand drawn sketches and yours are sketch and photograph combinations.  Interesting...

I voted too, well I think I did as my German is reather nonexisitant. Those are funky glasses German Harry has. Was it odd when the films came out because D.R. is a very Britsih Harry were as other international Harrys have looked much more funky.
