   I've started working on the 10 box break of POAU. Kinda pleased so far.......

Box 1:
Harry Potter's Black Cardigan

Box 2:
nothing but base cards and a few foil cards  :(

   I'll try to put up scans if anyone wants to take a peek, also, I'll be posting the final 5 boxes later this evening. (I also have 2 single boxes in route to my mailbox that should be due anyday. Thanks ~ Mark

Me too!!  Both thos props are great ones to have pulled!!!

All in all, not too bad, (just wish I hadn't pulled the doubles)  :(----I suppose 3 auto's from 1 case has me beating the odds though  ;)

   I'm gonna post some of my POAU cards on ebay tonight (3 day auction), I'm kinda new at shipping to the UK, so my auctions will read "US shipping only", but I'll work with anyone here if you'll contact me and help me learn about the shipping cost's  :)

   PS----I got the 2 single boxes today, and plan to bust them later this evening. I'll post my pulls here.

It seems to me to work this way

Standard shipping of 1-2 cards to UK $0.80 (plus your packaging) - takes 3-10 days

Global Priority $5 - they give you an envelope but you'll need to pack it inside other protective packaging as it's only card, takes around 3-7 days

Insured mail - very slow - costs around $11-$12

Just some guidelines to get you started ;) but what the heck would I know, it's all £ over here and it costs lots to post things ;D

   Thanks for the reply! I'm still kinda in the dark on 1 issue though:------Paypal requires a tracking # to cover sellers on transactions that are collected through them. I always send my cards, (here in the US), with delivery confirmation. Will I have to sell my cards to my friends in the UK with insurance to satisfy Paypal's policy? Or is there a cheaper rate that will provide some kind of tracking number?---
   I look forward to hearing advice from any of you that buy cards from us "Yankees"  ;D

Unfortunately, there is no service available internationally that satisfies PayPal's requirement for online confirmation.  Recorded delivery with return receipt will eventually get you a hard copy of a delivery receipt, but PayPal requires that the confirmation be available online.

Insuring a small package going international is a pain as well.  The USPS still has a long way to go to make international shipping easy.

Ed, what about international shipping with UPS?  I've always sent packages via USPS.

I believe UPS international is still traceable online, but a 1 pound package is nearly $50 to send.  Unbelievable.

I have had the best luck sending cards using Global Priority Mail.  Quick, and it seems to be handled a bit better than normal post.  However, it does not allow tracking online, so you are not covered by the PayPal seller's protection.

I use Global Priority Mail all the time and so far I've never had a problem with it. *knock wood*  I think the postal service handles it better than regular Air Mail also.

From US sellers I've dealt with in the past, the best and most reliable method seems to be using the Global Priority mailers.
I understand it's a set rate to use one of the smaller envelopes ($5.00US I believe) and with some exceptions (you can put anything dangerous in it etc) you can pretty much put what you want in there.
Looking at one of the mailers I happen to have lying around at home ( ::)) I can quote what it says directly for you Mark ...

"The efficient FLAT RATE ENVELOPE - you don't have to weigh the envelope, just pack all your correspondence, documents or merchandise inside and pay the small envelope rate.
Rates vary by country of destination"

There is also a bit more info on it which might interest you too ...
under the 'Documentation' header, it also says ...

"If your mailpiece weighs 16 ounces or more or may be dutiable, affix the appropriate customs declaration form PS Form 2976"

I'm a HUGE fan of these mailers and I only wish we had something as good here in the UK! ;)
As Mark also said, you would need to pack the card/s in something else prior to placing them inside the mailer otherwise they won't survive the journey.

I love the flat rate envelopes.  I can pack the cards with lots of cardboard and bubble wrap, and not worry about going over the shipping rate I charged the buyer.  Plus, it's a bonus not to deal with customs forms. :)  Only once has it taken longer than the stated time to arrive at its destination.

Thanks for all the replies gang! I've been talking to a few of the YakShack forum folks through emails, (and I appreciate the bids on my auctions  :ebay:   ;D)
   I'm looking at shipping to any International winners using Global Priority. I know I won't be able to use the USPS to prove that I've mailed the packages, but I'm thinking that everyone that I've talked with so far, will be honest enough that I shouldn't have a problem with any Paypal issues  :)  Thanks All! ~ Mark
