I want to get my mom something for her birthday, something nice since I'm not ten anymore an can actually buy her something nice. Which one would you get for your mother if she was an Elvis fan:

Leather Jacket
or
Piece of hair

Please help!! Her birthday is September 30th so I have less then two months.
I found the leather jacket is between 50 and 80 and the piece of hair for 50

Leather Jacket, without a doubt.

The pieces of hair are kind of creepy...

At the bottom right - the thing that looks like a baseball is a hole with a hair in it - go figure - do they want to make his DNA available for cloning or something? :P Maybe it doesn't have the end ;)

Jacket definately! I'm a HUGE Elvis fan and there's no way I'd want a piece of his hair - eewwwww

I can see some 60-something woman, swooning over the strand of hair...my mother, perhaps. ::)  I wonder how many strands of hair the company needed to produce 5,000 cards?

The 'strand of hair' card is hideous ... however, I would imagine the leather jacket one would appeal to everyone! ;)

I want to know how thay got the hair in the first place.  Very creepy.

Well ... they could have taken small clumps of hair as mementoes (his wife and daughter I mean) when he died and used those in the swatches? They would be worth qute a bit by now I would imagine and it's not that uncommon a thing to do either ... I have small curls of hair from both my late parents and the undertakers are only too happy to oblige to do the cutting on your behalf. ;)
Other than that ... it's a bit too gross to think about! :-\

Jeez ... there are some sad people around aren't they ... saving the hair clippings etc of the fat and famous! ::) :P

Well...bad news. I asked my mom and I think she read my mind. She said "No, no. I wont have you spending your money on a card that will collect dust on a shelf in my closed until we move again"  :-\

And Mike - maybe your mum is right - you might want to get her something that can be displayed and admired in everyday life. Maybe a framed photo display of Elvis?

Hmmm...that sounds good. She could place it behind her Elvis head (you remeber those 3D puzzles, she got the Elvis one). A nice little touch of light and color to the dark shelf
