: Goblet of Fire merchandise
: ArwenEvenstar August 01, 2005, 09:58:31 AM
Just wondering if anyone has any items or merchandise from the upcoming GOF movie? My parents are in Queensland at the moment and I jsut received a call from them a few moments ago. They were in the Harry Potter store at Warner Bros. Movie World and just got me: A Tri-Wizard tournament multi layered pencil tin, a money tin with the 4 champions on it, a lunchbox plastered with Viktor Krums face, a Harry Potter poster of some description and apparently a Fawkes the Phoenix denim wallet thing. This is the first I have heard of any merchandise for the new film so I was wondering if anyone else has seen any stuff in their area?

Haha tell me about it Mike. I cant wait for the GOF set. Im saving my pennies to get a couple of cases which I know wont get me a master set but Ive got a feeling we're going to be pulling some wonderful cards!  ;D

Even thought I'm getting a case for my birthday/Christmas I still want to save up for some more boxes (because I think this will be the best set since SS ;D ) and just buy it all at once so I have some saving I want to do. I want to get a case and a half so....

Good luck Mike! I probably shouldnt be spending so much at the moment and saving up for my cases but I couldnt not get the Scene it game and the Noble Collection Godric Gryffindor sword.  :-\ On another note does anyone have this officially licensed sword? If so is it really good because I just shelled out 300AU bucks for it... ???

Did you buy it from the Noble Collection website? I have never bought a replica sword from them, but I did buy a LOTR keychain. Pretty :)

The only offical one I know of is the one by Noble and the little plastic ones that come in red and blue. I'm getting the Scene It! Game a two cards for have those good grades so I dont have to save up that much. Most of the movie merchindise comes out at the end of October, begining of November so I have a little time to save up some money before putting it all on Lay-A-Way for Chirstmas ;)

FTY yep I purchased it from Noble directly. My card should be processed for the order soon but if anyone has this sword and would like to comment on the quality etc it would be greatly appreciated. I plan to hang it on my wall and get my new HP poster next to it framed.  ;D

Sorry, but I dont have the sward and dont plan on getting it. The only thing left from Noble I want is the Gringotts Coin Collection and the Divinations Crystal Ball

The one thing that turned me off the Gryffindor sword was that you couldn't take the sword off the plaque as it was permanently fixed to it. I like to be able to pick up my swords/knives and admire them :) I've got the UC Legolas knives and scabbard set and am looking to get an Aragorn elven knife soon as well from UC.

(No I do not threaten people with them... well not yet, anyway )

I dont like the knives/swards and my mom wouldnt let me have them anyways so it works out perfectly. I rally like the replicas. Even thought to Divinations Crystal ball is only 5 inches tall I still want it because its a replica ;D

Yeah the divination ball looks tops. Well Im kinda glad I got the sword because its the only 100% official replica out there. FTY, I am a little disappointed it isnt removeable but I hope it looks brilliant. I have the UC Sting sword with scabbard. Love it!  ;D

That's great - I hope you like it and let us know what you think of it when it arrives! :D

The United Cutlery stuff is great, isn't it? :-*

I bought a sword on eBay.  It is almost identical to this one and came with a seperate wall plaque to hang it on.  It is the sharpest sword I own (and I like to collect swords).  It is not a replica or licensed product though.  The only difference is that my "Godric Gryffindor" name on the blade is engraved.  The first one I bought had cheap black writing on it that could be scratched off with your fingers.  I was not impressed so sent it back and got a different one instead.  I like the sword, and this one should be really nice.  It looks it.  I know mine is a fake (at least I think), but it sure does look good.

Cool. Nice to hear some feedback on the sword. Regardless if its a fake. Sounds nice.  :D
I also purchased the Noble Collection Final Challenge Chess set. It's just so nice but I just remembered I dont even know how to play chess so for $650AU I had better learn eh?  :P

Well, I know that I won't get all of mine back, but lets see if I get enough back for a nice Weta statue or GOF case ;)

I owe every year :'( >:()

At least until my husband and I have children anyway.  Sucks.

I just learned to play chess and think it is a great game.  Sounds confusing when it is being explained, but it is really simple.  Great when you want to get your mind working hard too.

Just to give an update: My parents got back from QLD this arvo and I just got a chance to have a look at my new Harry stuff. I'll post pics when the camera is charged but for now here is a run-down of what I got: (please note all this stuff is from the movie and not the merch. from the books).

Goblet of Fire money tin with Cedric and Harry on the side and on the top is a pic of the Tr-Wizards cup with the HP GOF logo.
Goblet of Fire multi layered pencil Tin with Ron, Harry and Hermione on the front with a background pic of the Quidditch World Cup catalog. On the back is a scowling Viktor Krum.  ;D
Fawkes the Phoenix denim wallet. Nice and Fawkes is all sparkly...for want of a better word.
2 Lenticular HP notebooks from the first film with Harry in the forest with Draco and Fang. The second is harry with Hogwarts as a backdrop.
A lenticular bookmark with Filch and Draco, Ron, harry and Hermione jsut before they go into the dark forest.
A neat little bowl with Harry catching the Snitch (this is a pic based on the books).
A HP POA full sized movie poster with the trio at the front with Sirius in the background. Nice!  ;D
I think thats just about it....oh and 3 Wonka bars!  ;)

I thought the warner brother shops had closed world wide, well that was what I had been led to believe ???

: Re: Goblet of Fire merchandise

Nope. In Queensland there is a them park called Warner Bros. Movie World. They have stores dedicated to all things WB and in particular a Harry Potter shop.
Also the WB stores still exist in Queensland and as far as I know Singapore.  :)

When I read it on their website I was sure it said everywhere. Thats plain mean thats far to far to go shopping  :'(
