: Bored Teenage Boy Ruins the HBP Ending *Spoiler Warning*
: EmmasOneandOnly July 26, 2005, 11:15:01 AM
Here is a video of a board teenage boy that decided to tell everyone standing in line at Barnes and Nobles who dies and who kills him. There is some mild language. Most of it coming from an angry fan. I'm mostly posting this because I wand to get your thoughts on the subject of people spoiling it before its release. I'm mostly interested in where he picked up the information >:(

He probably picked up at the book at midnight.  At the beginning of the video, he says that it's a little after 1:00 AM.  So he probably went straight to the end of the book and read the ending, just so he could be a jerk. >:(

I was disappointed - I wanted to see him walking in to the bookstore and watching all the people start beating him up :P

I saw this on another board. What a loser ad driving about in his mom's mini van.  ::)
Seriously though if someone randomly drove past you and yelled that out like what happened on the video you sure as hell probably wouldnt believe it. You would more say something like: "What? Err as if he would know." and just shrug it off. I dont think alot of people would of heard and secondly I dont think alot would have believed it. But still he's a frickin idiot! (says in best Napoleon Dynamite-esque voice)/

apparently there was also a case in the uk of someone hanging a banner over a freeway stating who had died, but it was quickly removed by police (or similar)... a local magazine here in melbourne also spoilt the ending, they had a list of facts, and the last one was the spoiler  :-\

Blackcat here in Adelaide we get a newspaper called the Advertiser. It said they were doing a report on te book and how popular it was so I flicked to page 4 and first sentence...so and so kills so and so and this person in the HBP. Let's just say with no spoiler warning I just about exploded. This was the morning after the release and I had only just started reading the book...I was crushed.  :'(

Oh well...maybe until the release of Book 7 I should just remain a hermit and detach myself from any HP spoilers or rumors.  :P Because its ironic as on the release of the 5th book my bro's g/f blurted out who dies so maybe I am just cursed.  ::)

Yes that's right, we made a separate thread here for HBP related stuff so basically people could still come on the forum but if they wanted to be completely clear or spoilers as long as they didn't enter the HBP forum all should be well... that's pretty much what I did anyway :)

lol Roz I was really pleased with myself saturday night when I resisted the temptation to read any spoliers on the forum and then I go and take an innocent look at the newspaper and what happens?  ::) lol  :P

He hee - there's no such thing as an innocent read of the newspaper ;) or so it seems ;D

If there was a banner in the UK over a motorway I'd have screamed! :P although as a passenger in the car I'd most likely have had my nose in the book - it would only be the tortured screams of Mark (driving) that would have given it away :P

Lucky that Mark doesn't trust you to drive his 'ka' then

I avoided all media Potter references before I finished the book... I didn't trust them.. or me!

Thats really mean when people spoil it for others, as for the paper  >:() if they are going to print that they should at least wait a few weeks until the real fans have had a chance to read it.

I agree Morningangel...but it is just about the worst newspaper in the history of..well newspapers but I mean the day after the release?  >:()

A guy i work with is only up to like chapter 10 or so.  Anyway, he was listening to the radio and they were letting you hear what the guy in this video did.  Needless to say, it spoiled the book for my co-worker, just by listening to the radio on his way to work.

: Roz July 27, 2005, 02:07:26 PM
That is awful

Yes they could have said "spoiler warning" before hand but if you just switch on the radio at the wrong moment...??

He probably could not read - so just went straight to the end - attention span of a 2 year old - what kind of maniac would think it was a good idea to drive out and scream the end to people in the street that he does not know  - bit of an attention seeker I think  >:()- so doubt whether he has any friends at all - or any that take any notice of him.  I hoped when the video stopped that someone had grabbed him - I would have hit him on the head with my new Harry Potter book.
