Well I've done a quick count. Look up at the top right - 402 members. That's quite a lot isn't it? You might think so, but I counted up all the members with 0 posts and it came to 201 - precisely 50% of all members haven't event said hello!

I was totally shocked... not annoyed, just wondered why they bothered signing up if they're not going to be friendly!!

maybe they think we are scary and that they have to get used to use before they post

or they are signing up to enter the competitions and use the price guide  :-\

Well ... I didn't start contributing (ie posting comments) for some weeks after joining the Forum, either because I didn't think I'd got anything to say on the matters being discussed or felt a teensy bit intimdated by the comaraderie some of the regular posters have between them.
I'm not getting a dig in at anyone ... it's something which naturally evolves and is to be expected and applauded. :D
I was aware of the Price Guide but didn't start making use of it till I wanted to know about the POA/POAU cards and you all know what happens next ... hunt ... bid ... BUY!! LOL ::)

I certainly think there's an element of reticence to post involved with this half of the membership but I also think Kate's hit it right on the nose ... entering the comps and the Price Guide is the biggest draw IMHO.
Don't forget to add-in the wish of knowing what others are saying about you and perhaps what your competitors are doing ... ;)

All right - I admit it- I'm one of the lurkers!  I don't post cause I'm very new to the card collecting thing and don't feel like I can add a lot to what you all post.  Also it's very hard to get near a PC in our house and I have to wait till my DH feels he needs a break from Empire Earth  :o= (which I stupidly bought - you'd think I'd know better!)

Hi, Kathy!  You'll soon get up to speed with your card collecting know-how.  I just started non-sports collecting with Harry Potter POAU.  I'm always picking up new ideas, tips, etc.  There are lots of knowlegeable collectors here who can answer most any question.  ;D
