Sorry if there is another thread about the new Fantastic Four film (but I couldn't find it  :-[ )

Anyway I saw it today and it is brilliant.  It is full of action and witty one liners as well as amazing effects.  But best of all are all the little nods to those that have read the comics.  All in all I think this may be my favourite Marvel film, even better than X-Men.

And watch out for Stan Lee in the lobby of the Baxter Building. He has lines and everything  ;D

I saw the movie a couple of weeks ago and didn't like it. :-\  I thought it was slow in spots.

I saw it last week and I thought it was good, I wasnt familar with the story line so it was all pretty new to me...I loved Julian McMahon as Dr.Doom, he was great  :D

We saw Fantastic 4 last night and it lived up to my expectations.  Stan Lee's cameo appearance was cool!  The movie brought back memories of reading the Fantastic 4 comic books when I was younger!   :)  Some great special effects and the final battle between the 4 and Dr. Doom was very cool.

Saw it a couple of weeks ago and it was OK but pretty forgettable. Granted I'm not a comic fan but this movie was for the most part an enjoyable, average popcorn movie. Leave your brain at the door.

Julian McMahon was good as was Michel Chiklis (sp?). And Chris Evans  :-* Lots of us girls at work were drooling over him.
Special effects were pretty poor in some parts, good in others. Some better design work would have been beneficial though--that space station design was horribly poor.
But yeah, a classic summer movie for those wanting that.

I thought it was great - you have to take it for what it is and I enjoyed it as that ;)

I have never read a fantastic four comic, but I recently bought a reprint of the early spiderman comics (amazing spiderman) and the human torch character was PERFECT.

Loved it

There was other bits that fitted the comic perfectly.  The Thing saying 'Clobbering time' and the Human Torch drawing the 4 in the sky  ;D

If the movie makers had any sense what they would do now is a Fantastic Four / Xmen cross-over.  The next Xmen film is supposed to be Dark Phoenix.  They could have the Fantastic 4 find Jean in the lake just like they are supposed to.  But I suppose that would be too much to ask, or not  :o=

Yeah he must do that writing in the sky a lot - he did that a fair bit in Spidey alone.

will probably rent the movie when it comes out to rent, but I LOVE Julian McMahon!!  He was Cole in "Charmed".  I am bidding on his costume card from this movie just because I like the way he looks in it.  I am a huge fan of his.  And to think, he is Australian, yet everything I have ever seen him in, he talks without the Australian accent.  That just amazes me.

Uh oh... did you just reveal a secret that some people didn't know? I thought Jean was dead....  :-\

I don't think so.  It has been in every movie mag that Famkie Janson (not sure if that is spelt right) is in the next film.  Besides the really sad thing is that Xmen fans are getting about as rare as Pear Tree Leaves  :(  The only people that seem to watch the films are comic fans.  And shame on you if you missed the Dark Phoenix Saga  :o

ps if I did spoil anything though I am really sorry - the truth is Jean has gone to the Danger Room in the sky - along with Dr Doom  ::)

Hmm well I have to confess I have never read an X-Men comic, but I think the films are awesome! I never really got into any superhero comics and I think I missed out although when I get the time I will have to catch up on some of these original stories via the Marvel Masterworks Collections... very awesome!
