: eBay Anything Points : kbmum July 19, 2005, 05:32:57 AM The eBay Anything Points program is going to be discontinued in the U.S. as of August 31, 2006. If anyone has points sitting in their account, you should try to use them before they expire. :) The program is not being discontinued in Canada.
: Re: eBay Anything Points : Nienna July 19, 2005, 05:44:35 AM Ha! I've got some of these silly points and I can't use them as I'm in the UK and that's where my account is based! :(
I earned them off transactions I did with a couple of US sellers who'd got them on their listings and to be honest I didn't take much notice of them ... then I got a couple of 'gentle' reminders from ebay saying to use them ...and I can't! SO stupid! >:() : Re: eBay Anything Points : Morningangel-Iola July 19, 2005, 06:03:34 AM What are these points anyway and how come UK don't have them?
: Re: eBay Anything Points : kbmum July 19, 2005, 08:10:04 AM It's a loyalty program that's sort of like a frequent flyer program. You accumulate points by making purchases on eBay -- sellers opt in the program and pay a small amount for the points that are given to the winning bidder. You then use the points to pay for other eBay items.
It was meant as an incentive for people to bid on the auctions of sellers who were participating in the program, but it wasn't that popular. I guess that's why it's being discontinued. : Re: eBay Anything Points : Tea_and_Fruit July 22, 2005, 11:32:27 AM The Idea of a Point Programm is great but it would be better if Ebay give the sellers points for the amount of seller fees.
Maybe one point for every 1$ ebay fee and 2$ for every paypal fee. And then you can use this earned points to start new auctions or for features like gallery or something. |
