Hope you get a nice price for it Tom! :D

;D  Haha, oh no, i won't buy it, that's sure. I don't collect CATCF. Maybe a few nice cards, but not for a Master Set.

Oh my god, i said this two times with POA and POAU and now ...  :o ::)

Well, this time i'm almost sure, i won't. ::)

The Movie is not even released yet. I may be wrong, but could this make the interest in the cards go up???
I would think so.  People who aren't card collectors, but loved the movie might be browsing around ebay looking for general Charlie merchandise.  Maybe some of them will come upon the cards and have to buy a few.  Or maybe people like me (didn't buy any boxes) will see the movie, love it, and want to collect.  Right now I'm sticking with my plan for just the Oompa Loompa auto and the 4 retail props, but if this movie blows me away, who knows? ::)

I can't believe that a Short Grass Prop (#29 of 39) was on ebay for 2 or 3 days with a BIN of $499.00 (less than the price of a case) and no one bought it. It was a gift. A GIFT.

I would take it as a real gift. ;) But not for $500. I don't like cards which doesn't fit in binders. I think, this card was a bad idea from Artbox. And it seems that there are not many collectors who like these grass props. I want to collect cards, i don't want to collect real props or rare plants.  ::)

But it's a piece of the set for heavens sake!  And it's mounted on a trading card ;D

Why would you NOT want it?  Are you saying you wouldn't want a wand prop from SS?

I'm collecting this set, but I decided NOT to collect the Grass props because they don't fit in my binder.  I do have the Wand card because it does fits in my binder.  The Grass cards aren't 'cards' anymore when they're as tall as these are cards IMO. ::)

: Re: Charlie - 1st Golden Ticket on ebay available

I don't want to buy it as a single card. Only because i don't like it, that's all. My opinion is, that cards have to fit in binders and so i don't like cards which doesn't. But this card is very special, that's sure and it looks very nice. So maybe there are others who like it more than usual cards, that's possible of course. But i don't. I'm not sure if i would buy one, if i would try to collect a Master Set. But i don't, so no need to think about it.  0:)

And i agree to Anna, the Wand prop card looks very nice in my binder.  ;D

Sorry Anna, didn't mean to offend.  I just think it's a great card, so imaginative and I think we will see a lot more of them in the future.  It wasn't that long ago that costume cards were unheard of - up until then it had been autos only.  I may be wrong but I think the Rittenhouse Star Trek cards were the first (Captain Picards costume if I remember rightly) followed quickly by Farscape.  Maybe someone with more insight (Sketchqueen or Tomunique perhaps) could shed some light on this?

It's an interesting point to consider - where will trading cards go next?  We've had holograms, laser cut, die cut, lenticular, autos, costumes, flat props (sweet wrappers, letters etc) so solid or three dimensional props seems a logical step forward.

We might even get hair or beard props  :P :P :P :P

I think Geek Boy hit the nail on the head when he said it was a piece of the set.  This is an actual prop that's mounted in a card because it's being sold by a card company.  It may not appeal to some card collectors, but I'll be there are movie prop collectors who would love it.  I happen to think it's a pretty neat collectible, although not one I can afford.

I agree that this "prop card" is exciting. But for me it's not a "card". It's a prop with a card, not a prop card.  ;D So i hope, we won't see more of these in the future in card sets. I also don't like the thick cards very much. But they fit in a binder, so they are ok.

But it's the wrong topic to discuss this. ;) The golden ticket card is very exciting, especially when you find one in a pack.  8)

But I think it depends to. Which would you go for: A wand used by the cast or a piece of grass that came from a WHOLE set? I'm leaning toward the wand

But Johnny Depp might have stood on THAT particular piece of grass... ;D

I started a thread asking if these things were genuine in the HPSS forum.  How do you know that the wand was used by a member of the cast?  They probably manufactured loads of them so the ones on the cards may be one of those that was lying on a table in the backgound.  And Messrs Radcliffe, Grint, Watson et al probably got to keep theirs like the cast of LOTR were given their swords as keepsakes

Then again, Johnny Depp may not have stood on that particular piece of grass

Actually, Dan, Em and Rup dont keep their screen used prop/ Probably because they dont sign for them and they all go to Artbox which lets us have them. They really love us dont they 0:) ;)

I can't imagine that they would cut up the wands used by the trio themselves... I am sure that WB would either keep them or auction them off for charity - I know I wuld prefer a whole wand to one that has been sliced up and mounted on cardboard :)

I would rather have Emma pink top all together but a cards much cheaper

An Aussie got it!  I wonder how many cases they had to crack?  I see they also have the 10 case insentive card on auction too.

I would be a little bent if that was the ticket prop I pulled.  With only 18 they (Artbox) should have taken a little more care in selecting the swatches.

Well, I will be super happy and jumping for joy, even with the plain version!  :)

I do get a little disappointed when I get a plain swatch of the daily prophet, but realize out of 700 or so DP's some will be less desirable and some may be plain and that is the breaks.  I admire the fact that you would be excited and I am sure I would to, but why shouldn't we expect they would take the time to select quality swatches when there are only 18?

I get the impression that it is a pure GOLD swatch and the reflection is making it look blue or black. The one TOm has probably has GOLD stripes.

Yes he says in the auction how the picture cannot show how golden and interesting this card is. A golden bit of the golden ticket is cool in my book - put it this way - I wouldn't say no ;)

That makes it seem better, I thought it was a plain black swatch like from the black lettering of TICKET
