I did a couple of creature props.  A Mandrake and a Cornish Pixie.  The pixie has a small hook in his back so he can be hung from a string.  What does everyone think?  I will probably put one of them on ebay on Saturday night.  Which one should go first?  No idea why the pixie face photo is so BIG.  Sorry about that.

Wow, you did a beautiful job!  Why not put both of them on eBay at the same time?  Then you can mention both auctions in the description, and they'll show up under "seller's other auctions."  You could generate a bit more interest that way.

Thanks, guys!  I'm going to try to take some better photos of the Pixie.  I actually like him better than the mandrake, but he didn't show up too good in the photos.  I was going to put him in a jar but I made him just a tad too big. :-\   

Mike- I used Sculpey clay and wire.  You can get the Sculpey clay at Micheals craft store and it comes in colors so you won't have to paint too much.  It won't dry out until you bake it. 

I'm afraid I don't know how to do an auction layout as good as Luluhime did.  I'll have to rely on the templates at Sparedollar and hope for the best.  :)

Please post the auction links here when you get them up.  I am sure you may be getting some bids from us members!!!  Do you plan to make more?

I'll probably see what the response is, then decide if I want to make any more.  They take a while to make and it's a bit tedious.  If the bids are more than a few I might think about doing some on commission, so we'll see!

There are so many things on ebay now, that it's hard to choose what to go for.  HP SS cards, Charlie Choc. Factory cards, Batman.  What's a person to do? ???  I just hope it reaches at least $20.  That way I would get back the cost of materials and a little bit of the time I put into it.  Auctions are so exciting and more than a little nerve racking! :o=

Well, I just got back from a short out of town trip and checked my auction.  It was a bit dissapointing if you ask me. :(  I did'nt really get compensated for time spent.  Maybe it did'nt to better because he was'nt true to size?  I'm going to list the Pixie tomorrow and see how it goes.  If I don't do any better on him I guess I'll hang up the prop making plans.  I bought materials to make a non-edible Harry's birthday cake, but I may end up returning them.  Thanks to all who bid!

I dont know why you'd hang it all up. Everyone here loves your work (the cake idea sounds really cool then you could possibly get a cake box) people mostly like actual size replicas (I know I do :-[ ) because it has a more realistic feel, you might be able to get more from the cake if its pretty acurate to the one in the movie and with you and these two *wonderful*  crafts then I'm sure it'll be spot on 8) The pixie mght go for more as well because you can hang it up to give it a MUCH bigger realistic feel and that also added a kind og *Magic* touch

No, those were the only two so far.  I may make myself a pixie, but a bit smaller.  I want to put him in a mason jar.  With holes punched in the top so he can breathe of course! ;)  The one on auction right now would fit in a large jar, but I made his hand reach out too much and I'm afraid I'll break him if I try to wiggle him in by force.

The only way that I know of on how to make the ink dry on gold paper is to use embossing powder (clear) on it, then heat set the powder with a heat gun.  The image will end up being raised from the paper (embossed).

Dobby would be great, but I think most people want the props to be life size and I have no idea how to do a life size Dobby.  Or how I would ship one!  In the works I have a life size Mandrake, and Harry's birthday cake.  I'll also have a mini poster of the announcement poster from Charlie & Choc. Factory.  Perhaps a golden ticket too, but It's a lot harder than I expected it to be.  I'm lot's better at sculptures than I am at computer made stuff!  ::)

I'm going to make the Godlen Egg but I want to see GOF first. I dont know what to make. LOL - I was going to make a little Dobby because I have light tan and white clay so that would be cool

Help please - can someone look at the back of POAU foil #R7 and tell me where you think the words Spindle's Lik-O-Rish would go?  All I see is the word Spiders.

It looks like the candy name goes around the package along the web thread.  We can see in two places (both packages) where it ends with RS (one with the complete word SPIDERS) and both start with SP.  I'm not sure what the letters "EBU" and the crossbones are from though. :-\

Here's a question:  My "Weasleys" auction has been bid up to $5.50.  It CLEARLY states in bold on my description that they are available in my store for $4.  I even have a link right on the page in blue.  My auction has very little to read in the first place, does no one look at the description?  Should I feel bad for selling someone the prop for above my store price?

I have some new designs I made to print on stickers, magnets, totebags or t-shirts.  The t-shirts and totes would be a transfer, not screen printed.  Which or the 4 do you think would be more appealing to people?  I'll post photos soon.  Also, I have a new life size mandrake that will be on auction in the next couple of days.

Here are photos of the Quidditch World Cup program.  The cover is see-through at cetain points in order to see the letters on the cover page.  I'm still working on some pages for the inside.  So far I have: Irish roster, Bulgarian roster, Veela page, Leprechaun page.  I'm working on two player spotlight pages.  One for Krum and one for the 2 female chasers on the Irish team.  I'll also have an itenerary page in the front.  Should I have anything else?

How about an advert or two - maybe one for the binolculars or for the little models that fly around on their own (I think Ron had one).  You could maybe put a Ministry of Magic warning at the bottom of the page, like a public notice warning everyone not to do any magic in front of Muggles.  Just a thought  :)

I knew they would have one!  That seller has some really great props, but I think I beat them on this one.  The bottom 2 rows of squares are wrong on theirs and the inside cover is wrong too.  I think my pages are better since I have 12 and they're all in full color.  I expect that seller will have a Yule Ball invite soon.  I'm trying, but I can't find the right kind of silver paper.

Have you seen any of the other 'artistic' LOTR prints that particular seller had in their store Kelly?

Nice sewing job on the book, Mike.  I can't sew to save my life!  I love the map too.  I can honestly say that I will NEVER attempt a map.  Way too much work.  :P

Thanks, the spine is a little badly sewn but I just added on spare pieces of fur as I went :P It actually toke me about 8 months to finish the map with collecting pictures, finding pens, toke me a few weeks to get the map actually put together ::)

Alight everyone, i finished my chocolate frogs last night, now the only thing im missing to make it complete is gold foil with stars on it to line the inside.  So if anyone knows of a store that sells it or finds it for sale online let me know.  Thanks, and ill be sure to post pics of my chocolate frog soon with or without the starry foil.  Heres a pic of the kind of foil im looking for if you dont know what im talking about.

I think the best pictures I've seen are on the Bon-Bon card from POA and the Whizzbees card from POAU.  There are pictures in the price guide.  :)

A lot of the props seem just too big - the Goblet of Fire, the Egg, Beauxbuxtons Carriage  :rofl:  I reckon some more bits from the quidditch world cup would look good.  Didn't Ron have a little player that flew around his hand?  And I seem to remember Sheamus and Dean wearing rosettes.

Hey, the egg might not be hard to make.  There are paper mache forms and plastic eggs that would need only a coating of gold paint.  It's fairly easy to find a hinged egg, but I'm not sure what the inside of the tournament egg looks like.

The GOF UK premiere was today, so it won't be long before we're able to see the movie (and the cards). :)

I'm taking a break for a while.  I'll probably hold off until I see the movie, then decide.  That way I'll know exactly what everything looks like instead of having to guess.  I would love to make an egg!  That's one I'll have to think about for a while.  :)

I haven't really made anything movie accurate...ever. I usually just hot glue colored paper together and slap it on another paper skeleton and make something that I think it looks like from the movie 8)

Why did they take it down? I cant, for the life of me, figure out why? They didnt before the movie was out, or did they take it down for that reason :-\

Even thought they don't offer a program prop themselves, I was selling it with the trademark "Harry Potter" name attached.  I think if I had been selling it as "Wizard sports program" I would have been fine, but then no one would have seen it.  :-\  Actually it was really stupid of me to list it right after the movie came out.  I'm sure Warner Bros. is trolling Ebay for violations.

You are allowed to resell replica props you have bought from Noble, etc. and also real movie props that you have gotten from the set.  But I see that someone has relisted a prop replica that they made.  I'll have to check into that to see what's up.  Thanks.

That is rotten Kelly.  I think you were just dead unlucky being singled out.  About a year ago my brother tried to sell a little plastic Oscar on Ebay.  You know the six inch tacky plastic type.  He listed it as a replica, plastic, six inch silver novelty item and the Academy of Motion Pictures made him remove it  :o  The reason was that Oscars cannot be sold  :o

I reckon Ebay are reacting to JKR's complaints about forged autographs for sale.  Bet they don't remove them though  >:()

The top and bottom of the pack page is not fixable. I've printed out a few little ones to get it right but no luck. I'm happy with it anyways ;D

I finally bought all of the supplies I need to make some Lockhart books.  I'm making bookcovers that fit over things like journals and composition notebooks.  This is my first book -- Holidays with Hags.  The first scan has the cover and the second has insets I'm putting on the inside front and back flaps.

Yea, the only problem with that is 1. i have no use for anything other than gold, 2. The minimum order you can buy is 35, and 3. It costs 80 pounds to get it shipped to the US (Shipping and taxes came out to be 104 pounds total for anything i buy, so thats a little ridiculous) >:(

I also wanted to tell you that, your book cover is great, but if your going for a more movie accurate version. Holiday with Hags is part of a three book box set called The Travel Trilogy with Voyage with Vampires and Wondering with Werewolves. The cover color of these books are Brown, Red, and Black. Which ones they belong to are uncertain. The book covers don't have pictures of Lockhart and look like this.

Year of the Yeti and Travels with Trolls (I thought this book went with the trilogy set but it has a photo cover.) are seen on Harry's left and Magical Me is the big one with the golden edged pictures ;D

I'm trying to make a replica prop of Harry's acceptance letter.  I've found this copy of what was in the inside, but it doesn't match up with what Artbox put on thier cards.
What does everyone think about this?  Could there have been 2 different styles for the inside content?  Is the full page picture a fraud?  Does anyone have a screen shot of the 2nd page of the letter that lists the 1st year requirements?

Here are 2 Artbox cards of the letter.  Both swatches are from the SAME PAGE, but one is hand written and one is typed.  I'm leaning to think maybe one was for screen shots and one was just for Daniel to hold?

It is, but take a look at the 2nd page on the first photo.  That's the list of supplies.  It's handwritten on that one, not typed.

They didn't seem to get it ::) I think the type writer look is correct. Mostly because its in the prop card (they said the full handwritten one was correct on the forum, for now anyways) so I'd got with that one. The Supply List and Letter is different as you can see but I'm sure that was expected :P

I printed out a butterbeer lable today.  ;D  I didn't do this one myself.  I got it free off the RPF website.  I bought a bottle of weird soda at the store today and removed the lable, printed off the butterbeer lable on some photo sticker paper and there you go.  It's actually a bit crooked, so I'll probably reprint the large front lable and redo.  Nothing major, it just bothers me.  ::)  Like I said, I didn't do this one, so if anyone wants the lable, PM me and I'll send it to you.  Forgive the photo, my camera wasn't working right tonight for some reason.  It actually looks better in person.
