In an interesting surprise, the Night Bus and Dementor tins are now (finally) hitting U.S. WalMarts.  For the tidy sum of $4.99 I managed to add each of these tins (and especially cards) to my POA Update collection.  That's right.  They're five bucks.  All we had to do was wait seven months.

No Way!!!  I was just at Walmart and they had nothing.  I will have to try the other two in my area tonight.  Should I call or just go? How exciting!!

I decided to just go.  This way, I can look for Star Wars cards too.  Or should I wait to see if they get the retail CATCF sets too?  I love shopping! Not that i can afford it right now, but I want these tins!!

I'm so glad I checked the boards before I went out today.  Wal-Mart here I come!

WOW, I never though I'd eve rbe excited about going to Wal*Mart again :rofl: if it POAu you have a chance to pull a retail. I'd like tp pick up the Knight Bus, already have the Dementor

Do the tins actually have POAU packs or do they contain packs of POA FilmCardz?  The ones I purchased from e-bay not too long ago had FilmCardz packs.

Yes, they were sealed and the starburst sticker on the outside of the celophane stated the tin contained 2 packs of POA FilmCardz and the exclusive card.  Didn't even cross my mind that they could have been repacked.  No reason really to swap out POAU packs for FilmCardz packs and still include the T1 and T5 cards as they were the most desirable part of the package.

Tins 1 and 5 were hobby tins that contained packs of POA update filmcards and one exclusive tin card.  Tins 2, 3, and 4 were retail tins that contained packs of POA update retail packs, an exclusive tin card, and the possibility of a retail costume card.

The Tins 1 and 5 that I got had FilmCardz like Mark's tins.  I got mine off of ebay like he did.

Hey, that's right.  The tins did/do contain FilmCardz instead of Update cards.  Try moving this thread now, Roz.   :P

Shame on all of you for not spending more of your hard-earned dollars on the FilmCardz.  Seriously, did anyone buy these besides me?  The Silver and Blue Metal-Etched cards have a really nice design, although the choices for scenes on them seems generically underwhelming.  I guess that's one other special thing to look forward to in the tins;  you might get lucky and pull a chase card.   :o=  I got none in the Dementor tin, but two of each in the Night Bus tin.

Ooh I got the base set - and actually the collector zone special offer of the week is a Filmcardz master set for £30 - that's about $55.

So if you missed out it's not too late!

It's a great set I agree... rather expensive outside of the above offer, but really pretty good now ;)

I got a set of the R and UR Filmcardz to go with the base set Mark and thought they were beautiful. Not the easiest cards to store to their best advantage I'll admit, but the silver and blue finish on them is great! ;D That's a fair comment on the choice of scenes they used and you could make the same remark about the film clips used in the SS film cell cards ... lovely but a bit limited!
I think the price had a lot to do with ppl either buying them or not and nobody seemed to stock them here in the UK, which meant we had to get them from US sellers and pay the high shipping fees.
I think they're under-rated and if you want them then the offer from Collector Zone is pretty good.

What does some of the Emma FilmCardz look like?

The Emma FilmCardz are the same as some of the base cards from PoA.  The only difference is that they're printed on acetate (?) and have the card frame around them.

Oh, I thought they were totaly different from the POA cards :P

Artbox makes white-backed nine pocket pages to store FilmCardz, and for the most part, you can easily see the images.  I think they also make a lighted viewer to look at individual cards -- sort of like a mini lightbox.

I found one but when I finally got my mom to say yes and went back to get it it wasnt there anymore :'(

ebay seller dma (Dona) had the T1 and T5 cards (I think with the tins too) a little while ago, so it might be worth contacting her through ebay to see if she still has any for sale.

The trouble is it will probably be pricy even if they do as the tins tend to ship heavy  :-\

Yeah I know, that's why I only bought the cards not the tins.
Not only that, but the tins will be hard to get packaged properly so they don't get damaged in the post which will make them even more expensive to ship! :-\
I would contact dma through ebay to see if she has any of them left ... she's really nice to deal with and does all she can to make it as trouble-free as possible. ;)
Gimli had some of the cards too but I don't know which he had and if he's got any left or not .. sorry, not much help really ...

Trouble is, I think ppl in the US are having difficulty getting hold of these tins too, so that might not work very well ... could do a bit of sightseeing to while away the time I suppose ... ;)

All they had at my Wal-mart was the tin with the regular packs.  It was also $5, but it was the dementor and I already have that one. :P

I will need to check Wal-Mart again this coming weekend.  I really want these two tins!!!

I finally found the filmcardz tins at wal-mart.  Dementor and Knight bus.  I got 3 etched cards out of them, but 2 are the same frame.  Kind of cool looking cards.
