Just in from Cards Inc:

1) Between now and the release of the update sets:

there will be the a release of a retail set; limited to 250 cases, no autos/props though - just nice film images!

(more info on this one tomorrow)

2) The PoA UPDATE SET

This will be released around the same time as the HP PoA DVD - which is expected to be released in the first week in October!

Production will be tight again perhaps limited to 600 cases this time - so a slight increase in production.

Cards Inc expect to have to allocate (i.e. give you a certain percentage of
your order - so be clever and order a bit more than you need :P)

The series will continue where the PoA series left off with props, costumes
and autos (6-10 autos - a definite list will be available for this
tomorrow). Lots of props (more info on these tomorrow) but will include a
really rare hippogriff feather (that's more cool than my hope for a piece of Gollum's GC loin cloth :P)

There may be a prop card UK incentive card - it's in the pipeline but not confirmed and there
will once again be a UK costume card of some kind :)

And there'll be bundles of different coloured promos again!!!

Does anyone think that there might be dud boxs or do you think they
will share the cards out evenly?????

Hmmm that's a tough one to answer - the safest answer is to tell you to expect from this set just the same as the last set  -  and be pleasantly surprised if they are well distributed. But I wouldn't really advise anyone to buy one box - save save and save even more for 2 :)

Which is limit to the money i make on ebay. And at present I am getting rid of all the pokemon card my kids have collected andall the other harry potter cards that i have spare including promo's from the last 2 movies .
but these new cards are way way better than anything done in the past

I was actually contemplating selling my autos as well, they would buy me a couple of cases! but no... *resists urge* Imagine pulling 2 dud cases and lose my lovely LOTR autos for a Weasley costume equivalent :'(

I would be tempted by the Galadriel, but like you I am saving for some PoA update boxes

Wow, UKtradingcards preorder price seems a little steep.  Almost $90 a box, sounds like they're trying to take advantage.  So far with the auto list they have shown for the update I wouldn't buy for $90.  Most of those auto's would go for about $25 each IMO.

I am sure they will add a few more top notch signers, the draco would probably command some $$$.

I can't imagine buying a box for $90 and getting a dud.  I guess the only way they will list a more reasonable price is if no one preorders.

So many of us try to import from america but it costs us about $10 per box shipping and then we get hit with import taxes

try being in Australia not only do we end up paying a higher prices but most times we get charge$20.00 for shipping so that we don't have to wait 3 months to get it

Yeah, I totally sympathise with you!  >:(So you are definitely getting that PoA update? I should get a move on as I was gpoing to wait til Roz told us the info for the inserts, but as she is not sure when that will arrive, I'd better make sure MPC still has some and is in a good mood ;D

already contacted MPC and ordered a box would love to but will have to see how much i can save before august .

Righto folks - prepare yourselves - CONFIRMED info from Darren at Cards Inc:


The Update Series due October will currently include 8-10 autos, the first
CONFIRMED signees are as follows :

  DUDLEY DURSLEY        -        Harry Melling
  AUGUS FILCH                 -        David Bradley
  PERCY WEASLEY          -        Chris Rankin
  FAT LADY                        -        Dawn French
  VINCENT CRABBE        -        Jamie Waylett

  We can alo confirm that there will be a whole host of new props and costume
cards, as well as some duel props,costumes.

  We are also able to confirm that there will be some UK incentive cards for
both cases and binders, as well as some multi incentives for other levels of
purchase.

We are also able to confirm that there will be an ultra incentive card for 25
Case orders, 1 card per 25 Cases.


Perhaps these confirmed sigs are "in hand" - of those I am most excited about Dawn Frech - she rocks.

They are ALREADY talking about the next binder - the UK doesn't have THIS binder yet  :-\

It's interesting that there will not be a Cards Inc retail version yet - which I think is strange, from what I have heard the set is doing really well - so I wonder why they have decided not to make one - sounds like the FOTR non-foil one - they never made another one of those either :( (though I think that was Topps Merlin not Cards Inc).

The Dual prop cards sound cool - and probably hideously rare - what could they be? They'd have to be things that compliment each other - I have never seen a dual prop card and never seen in person a dual auto! This sounds cool! Fred and George should have had a dual auto  :P

Yep - the totally unconfirmed rumours I have heard are for more exciting signers than those - but still I'm looking forward to Dawn French's auto - she's pure classic comedy!

Also when the fat lasy is scream sir cadogan jumps out of a painting really alarmed and in fighting mode. you can see him behind harry and seamus that made me laugh and he did the same when the fat lady went missing.

Yeah that scene is amazing (with the fat lady) you have half the cast in one place - and all the pics moving - I bet it took ages to get right - there's a giraffe over many of the portraits do you see?

And there are loads of Sir Cadogan pics - but you have to have read the books to know who the mad armoured man is  :P

I just wish some distributors in America would start pre-selling the update set.  I will not feel comfortable until I have a case on order :)

Georgetown Card Exchange is taking pre-orders.  The price is $59.95 per box.  They were taking orders for cases (roughly $525) and had a reduced price for orders of four or more boxes ($54.95 each) a few days ago, but those two options aren't on the website today.  Maybe they're running out of their allocation.

ya i think uktrading said they would be around £49 which isn't too bad and if they go the same way as the others its a really good deal

I think these guys were looking for American sources, but for any other UK -ites - MPC is doing £37.50 a box - look him up on this forum as MPC or PM me for info

I emailed Potomac and they are still waiting for final details and pricing before listing them on their site.

This may not be a problem, but payment to MPC had to be by July 10 for pre-orders....

How odd... I think he may waive that since he's not been around much lately what with being so ill... I haven't heard from him in a while and I was hoping to get a box, binder and case topper card in the post soon  :-\

Well I have a mole, and he/she says it was planned for the first set ! I also know that all the pieces of parchment within will be showing no text because of Warner Bros licensing issues. I am not sure why they didn't want any text on this one but they didn't!
