: Artbox San Diego Comic Con Art Set - (boxed factory set of 45 cards) : Roz June 17, 2005, 05:52:50 AM Along with a multitude of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Artbox don't seem to have forgotten us loyal HP fans for the SDCC.
They have released a 45 card boxed set of card sized art prints of Mary Grandpre's magnificent work in the HP books. Worldwide most prints of the HP books are not illustrated (I remember JK muttering that she didn't want to interfere with our imagination) - anyway - this means that a lot of people outside the US have never seen these prints, I haven't at any rate :) So here's some pics... Some of us over in the western colonies have indeed seen UK editions, because we wanted to see the text of Philosopher's Stone in the original language. With the later books, they decided that Americans could handle words like jumper and trainers without having them translated. We still might have trouble with a hamburger bar, it's such a wimpy concept. (Just to mention a few that I recall. But why did they need to change "the apothecary shop" to just "the apothecary"?) I really like them, but it would have been nice if the cards were oversized to better see the illustrations. I did notice something interesting, though.
The SS movie cards have a purple color theme and POA has blue. This set has purple for SS, green for COS, blue for POA, orange for GOF, and deep blue for OOTP.
